Hi, To support more broad testing of the memory and optimisation changes going in to the system, i'd like to invite a few more people to join the beta team. I'm looking for PC players who can review across a range of their existing favourite content and report back on anything that we've made worse (or better, hey, think positive) and Xbox players who can run areas "of challenge" previously and confirm how things are improved with the changes. Discord access is essential. Content Creators - You cannot stream/share content from the beta. - On PC, you can switch between beta and release streams yourself, but it's a full redownload each time, Steam does not natively support a means to run two streams side by side. If your priority is content creation then I would advise against joining the beta. - On Xbox you cannot switch between beta and release streams yourself, we have to do that on the Microsoft backend systems ourselves - this means from a request made to switch it can take up to a couple of days for this to take effect in either direction. Applicants must be 18+ and able to sign an NDA. To apply, please use this form: https://forms.office.com/Pages/Resp...tBOmjJ0ZUN09XNUhQMlg2TjFQNEdQMElESklNNlYxNi4u Thank you for your support! Matt
Hi Matt im interested in being a beta im an Xbox x player I have 99% of routes and dlc i dont work full time so can play quite a bit.
Thinking about it as my potato PC could be a useful benchmark. Cons are, not sure how much time. I could devote to the process and the big cheese, once signing a NDA it does pretty much silence any active participation on public forums, FB etc as there’s just too much risk of inadvertently saying something you shouldn’t. If I do decide yes, Matt what’s the application process - a DM to yourself?
i would love to volunteer but my TSW is very heavily modded, i would assume you want just the vanilla game to be run mod free so not to skew results?, not sure if steam would be happy having a dual installation never tried, so if anyone has experience doing that i would appreciate the advice. If it is possible i would love to sign up as I'm just about to break 1200hrs in game LOL.
Alltrough I switched to PC lately, Im interested to test on Xbox Series X to help making it an enjoyable experience on console again. Was not prepared to have my Console ID number on hand here at work. Will send my application later when home
Hi DTG Matt. I'd like to sign up. Currently play on Series S and have most of the game content and would be happy to help out with testing
Oh well FWIW application submitted. BTW filling the form out where it requests an XBox ID, even if you haven't ticked it as an option you need to put N/A in the field otherwise it kicks the form back.
Would love to join but don’t know what a network device number id is, can it be found on the Xbox app?
tell me about it! having to go back 52 years. Thankfully clicking on where the month and year were brought up the years by month which made clicking a lot quicker coz the up arrow clicked back through the years instead of the months
Very Interested Matt, Thank you for posting this today. I can provide the flexibility of PC/Xbox as I use the Microsoft Store Version, I have left a detailed response on the form.
I really want to apply but this will effect my daily routine of taking screenshots everyday in train sim world, ( I mean I could take a few months worth of screenshots but not sure if I should and well I have a problem of taking screenshots out of habit)
Not for me. Could never sign an NDA. Besides, I don't have the time. And I'm not sure TSW beta testers carry that much weight, given the number of obvious issues that make it to release.
It appears to be much more difficult to do beta testing on PS5 as there are no dev kits and the backend is harder to deal with
I registered. I hope I become a beta tester. I really like to play the game and also a lot. If I can contribute to the fact that TSW offers a better player experience all the better.
If it was paid, they would say that upfront, I'd assume. Though, I would say there's no harm in putting on a CV, doubly so if applying for a job with relevant transferable skills. I put Forum & Discord Moderation on mine (which I do for Project Motor Racing's official server and forum) , for example, I figure dealing with the madness of Internet must show some degree of relevant experience in dealing with the public
Fired in an application there. DTG have me under NDA for my mod role via TSC Discord for what it's worth. Fingers crossed anyways as it looks like a lot of people have applied.
Hi Matt, I have completed the form, any ideas when successful candidates will be contacted? Thanks, James
Another reason I can't do it. Anyone who knows me knows I can't keep my big mouth shut. I'd almost certainly be looking at " the drop " in a very short time.
That's what I said originally but the respondent to my post seemed to think I was actually trying to put a XB serial in!
hi, I think it is worth to ask; while this part may probably reefer to the sharing of gameplay video and stuff, it isn't really clear. If someone uses the (public) editor to make content (route and vehicle), would there be problems when validating the game files? or there would be no problems as stuff passes via steam and should get "validated" once you turn on the game with steam? I may also assume there may be issues by using the editor as it takes some files from the routes you have installed and this may not be great. looking forward for an answer, best regards
Is beta testing on the PlayStation not necessary (yeah, right ) or is there another reason that people who own a PlayStation can’t apply?
Hey matt, any chance you can let us know how we're going to be contacted about if we're accepted or not?
It will be interesting to see how many famous names vanish from the forum when the selection process is done. One thing to double check with Matt if still monitoring the thread. A sixth sense has told me on PC at least the beta install requires about twice the HD space as the retail install? If that’s true might rule me out as I could probably shuffle things around to get 500Gb of free space but anything over that would mean pretty much uninstalling everything else for the duration. (My C drive is 1Tb, D Drive 1Tb and E drive only 500Gb).
