After seeing the Birmingham Cross City 2021 mod i've relelise how boring the vanillia the current timetable is.
I belive that adding a loco pack and more layers would add more playability and add value what could potentially be a first class route

    New Locos with liverys

    West Midlands Railway Class 170
    West Midlands Railway Class 350
    Transport for Wales Class 158

    Additional layers from other DLC

London North Western Railway Class 350
    Avanti West Coast Class 390

As much as I agree, the main problem would be licensing, if the inability of dtg to get an lnwr license for the 350 is also going to mean inability to get a wmr license for a new train add on

Unbranded is always a possible compromise. I personally don't mind getting realistic layers/add ons without branding where licencing is a problem. What we usually end up with is certainly close enough. Totally agree that BCC needs much more than we currently have, especially seeing as we have various suitable types that are a shoe in.

Sorting out the canal side scenery south of Birmingham should be the first priority!

Still leaves the thorny issue of how you represent the three Cross Country services an hour in each direction, which are a significant visual lack from the OG timetable.

CC services should simply be a unbranded addition. Doing unbranded CC dlc stock will be useful across various routes.

I would take them as unbranded HST’s at least on the North to South West services or even in BR IC livery. The 170’s on the Cardiff’s a bit more tricky, perhaps. At some point DTG need to bite the bullet and decide what they’re going to do about XC and Voyagers. They are running out of main line parts of the UK rail network they can do and ignore them.
