Since the GWR licence is now back it would be a perfect opportunity to try and include the sleeper.

What would be in the pack

A GWR class 57 plus for a bonus livery 57604 Pendennis Castle and a rake of sleeper and passenger MK3's.

    Services
There would be one service going each way from Paddington and to Paddington and ECS moves to and from Reading as the train needs to be TnT arriving and leaving Paddington as it can not be turned around.

This would be a great addition, a diferent form of passenger travel. It could come in a gameplay pack with scotrails Caledonian sleeper as this has been mentioned as one of the layers that was going to be in wcml however due to performance was removed.

Any of the missing GWE layers would be most welcome. Liam remaster is looking superb but still requires various missing types as dlc.

Bumping this up. It would be very doable for GWE (with remaster out) and pretty easy to "do" design-wise because the basic assets and licenses are in game already. It's the body of the 47 with an American EMD 645 engine which most of the US locos already use. The body/track sounds would be the same as the 47 and the engine would sound like an SD-40 basically. The only "new" bits to add would be any cab details such as modern signaling, safety systems, etc.
I think it's very achievable with little work and would sell.

Given that it'd take a LOT less work (the assets for it are already in the game) they could put it out for under $15, maybe bundle it with the remastered GWE for a promotion, and layer it on multiple routes (basically have it sub in for the Class 47 and Class 66 everywhere)
If people don't want to use it because it's not the right livery then fine, but layering it all over to cover both 47 and 66s on MOST routes would be a HUGE selling point for me as a casual. Definitely worth a $10-15 buy for me, and with very little new design work to get it to market, low investment and low cost= big sales so lots of profit.
Heck, even a relatively small third party could run with the idea since it doesn't involve much new design, you don't have to create a route or timetables. A group like Athena could even do it as a project (nice rework of the 47 cab on their release)
And the biggest complaint about the 47 there was that it's "not modernized"... which wouldn't be the issue here since the Class 57 would be up to 2000s safety standards from their rebuilds.

57's don't sound exactly GM "ish", seem a bit rougher, at least the one I saw on the LSG "Chairman's Train" the other week. Quite hellfire, actually!

Don't know what an LSG is, but tuning can have a huge impact on how they run =-)
After a few years none sound like they did from the factory!

They are a charter company specialising in upmarket travel. A few weeks ago their Chairman (who must be loaded!) took one of their trains on a grand tour of much of the railway network. Not my image but…

It made a magnificent sight and sound storming through Rushey Platt, just west of Swindon.

Ah, they do that sort of thing here. People buy a bunch of Pullman cars and travel the country in an upscale train they hire to pull them, stopping all over the country. Like motorhomes on the rails.

Well no, but that's what there is to use in the USA.
No Mk 1s or Mk 2s here to use so....same kind of thing.
    Just a different country.
