it would be cool if in (unfortunately very likely) tsw6 dtg implemented the feature of viewing road crossings through the track monitor (just like we can view platforms)
I definitely agree on this one. Crossings used to be visible on the 2D map at some point, but was removed I think when TSW4 launched. But to re-add it back onto this new track monitor would be very neat.
by track monitor, do you mean the little graphic in the top right hand corner of the screen? if so, I'm on board with this! Could also add whistle boards to this as well
100%, because it could easily get too busy. I'd also like to see an option whereby you have station platforms showing when you pass them but not next to them if you know what I mean. So at Retford for example when you go down the middle tracks so that you know when to sound the horn etc.
Yeah I get ya crystal clear. As in still show the station on the TM regardless if you actually pass through the station via a platform piece of track. That'd be neat along with the previously mentioned QoL suggestions!
You know what, while we are at it - it would be handy to see the track monitor for guard mode too so we had an idea when we were approaching a station! Maybe show non-calling station platforms in orange or something, and calling in the standard blue. Even handier if there was an indication of which side the doors would need to open. It's a good feature track monitor, but feels like it could be further utilised
I hate to say it, but i see a lot of these touch ups coming to TSW6 versus currently in TSW5 as September is not far now. But, nonetheless it would be very appreciated and increase the awareness of whats going on outside of the train regardless if you are a driver, or conductor. Since we're on a roll, maybe the Track Monitor could include interchange operators at stations? f.e: You arrive at Gatwick Airport as a southern service, and underneath the blue line which represents the station on the Track Monitor would be a mini GX logo to let you know passengers (or you) can transfer here to board Gatwick Express services. Which kinda makes me think if DTG should make it so you can see the Track Monitor when on foot. Wouldn't do any harm eh? It would be more simplistic as you aren't in the engineer's seat so it wouldn't bother picking up signals, speed limits, or crossings. Just the stations and if you can change to another operator at said station(s). You can always go hudless for a clean look in passenger mode! Maybe this is a stretch, but I'm all for accessibility and innovation!
Yes, but as far as I can remember only if you are driving and only if there is a platform on the track you are on if you know what I mean
