i mean, class 158s wouldnt really suit any TPE trains (maybe class 185 but at a push) i understand the 350 will make up for TPE services but the Scotrail 158 still confuses me. They might fill in for northern 158s?

He's reffering to the SKW 101 Pack not the Expert 101 pack itself. why pay for another pack for a route and a train you've already paid up to 70€ for?

Because it’s worth it * and has new gameplay in it. I am certainly willing to pay for good work!
    EDIT:
    * for me :D

Yeah, I agree. It depends on what's in it.
    It's not the "same train."
    It's more content.
If people don't want it... then don't buy it.
    *shrugs*
Sales will tell them whether it's a good business choice or not.
If it's too expensive, it won't sell.
If people buy it... it wasn't too expensive.
In either case, "free" is laughable and selfish to suggest since it's new content after the other was already created.

There was a time when ScotRail 158s were operating around Manchester. I think they were on loan to Northern

I am assuming he is adding the loco and route. Still not a valid argument imho. People seem to ignore the fact that we are getting new content, however, in form of gameplay (even though in the scenarios we are getting new scenery as well).

Fair enough if it’s not everybody’s cup of tea but people should accept that there is a market for this kind of addons!

the exper 101 is 35.99 and SKW is also 35.99. that equates to 71.98.

I am looking forward to it. But i was just pointing out someone elses mistake. Also, depending on what they charge. it might not be worth it.

They shouldn't of just kept one gameplay pack

But at it's root... you're still asking for something for nothing since there is new content.

26 player services, 5 scenarios, 1200 AI services to make the route busier, more scenery assets, and for those not purchasing the DLC... a free new livery that you can use even if you just have the base expert 101.

    That's new content.
    Someone had to make that.
Saying that should just be "thrown in" for nothing is insulting and selfish.

    Now what "should" that cost?
Well price is subjective. It's worth nothing to me since I don't plan on getting the Expert 101 anyway, but to an Expert 101 player that's quite a lot. And it's up to THEM to each individually consider what it's worth.
The beautiful thing is that the people that don't want to buy it.... don't have to buy it.
Then it cost you nothing to not buy.

For the sake of argument, if this were a different loco and different route I'd actually play....then I'd put it in the value window of roughly a "Cargo Pack" by Skyhook. I think that'd be fair.

    This game is dead.
Too many bugs, crappy and blurry graphics, stuttering, 10 identical trains, too many, way too many gigabytes for so little diversity.
In short, after a year without a purchase, I'm afraid I'll have to say goodbye to DTG...

    Sorry to hear you go.
Maybe you can tell DTG why they're losing such talent at your exit interview.

This game is dead? Doesn't look like it. It has an active and growing database. Bugs? There's probably 1 bug in the game (my experience). Blurry graphics? From my experience, never happened. May be related to me having a high end PC, but I never saw that happen.

I raise you save game bugs (won’t load the objective data if you return to free roam, take over a fresh service then save it).
    Steam traction still a travesty.
Passengers wandering across the track on many routes.
    Passenger behaviour generally.
Stuttering and sound distortion which have been noted on high end PC’s and the PS5.
Dynamic weather constantly shifting to massive thunderstorms and staying there.
Over use of 2D map or deleting stuck trains can crash the game.
Lack of any really gripping content coming out and the two that are of interest, Class 86 and E94, combined costing the same as 4 maps for ATS or ETS2 or as much as many AAA games. By comparison, I just picked up Roadcraft in the Snowrunner loyalty bundle for just over £25. That’s only £5 more for a complete new game than either of these loco packs. DTG will start pricing themselves out of the market if they continue down that path.
There’s a fair bit of other stuff competing for my money at the moment. TSW may not be dead, but it’s going to have to work much harder (or get more competitive pricing) for my hobby spend than the current trends.

I’m glad I have no interest in the expert 101 loco. $70, haha what? They can keep it.
I’ll rather spend $70 on a few new games in PSN sales, I’ve been shafted enough by DTG.

    But it's not 70.
That's for the a route and a loco.
He keeps repeating the misleading statement.
It would be like saying WCMLS is 70 if you include the 390 and the route.
But they aren't the same thing.
It's two different things that the poster bought themselves at the same time and lumped the amounts together.

Some clarifications seem to be in order here.

First of all to clear out the confusion, the 101 Expert pack is not for SKA ie. Schnellfahrstrecke Köln - Aachen but for KWG: Kassel Würzburg (which is at least twice the size by the way).
Second of all, the BR 101 Expert is not 70 USD, as some others have stated, that is very misleading, it's 40 or 30 when in sales, so please stop feeding false information if possible, thanks.

If coupled with the existing BR 101 (DTG), it is possible to play with the Expert loco only without the IC coaches on the route, if you really don't want to buy the Gameplay Pack, feel free not to do so. In a similar context, you don't even have to buy Kassel - Würzburg to get 101 Expert Gameplay, as you can grab any route that already makes use of it for free (Salzburg - Rosenheim, Frankfurt - Fulda, Dresden - Riesa and Bremen - Oldenburg + If you already own the legacy 101 from DTG you can also use it on Dresden - Chemnitz and Kassel - Würzburg itself).
The "cash grab" is the fruit of a few months of full time work for the main person involved at Train Sim Germany and multiple rounds of testing and tweaking, in view of making a truly "expert" pack, that is to say, it is not your usual timetable/set of scenarios. Whilst I don't know the price myself yet, I can only assume it's only going to be fair for the amount of work and the gameplay offered (tens of hours of gameplay specifically designed for the 101 & Cab-Car Expert). This isn't the same kind of content that is already available for free, that I can assure you about.

Ultimately, it's up to people decide what's worth for them, but just try to be a bit civil and do just a bit of research. We can all talk and be reasonable, at least I think.

    I fully agree here.
This is the only DLC in the roadmap that go me really hyped. While Kassel-Wurzburg isn't my favorite route, i am sure this will make it way more interesting.
The new types of rail operations, written orders, random faults.
I am also looking to chain services from kassel to wiesbaden or frankfurt, the new timetable might bring those.
This one is a day 1 buy for me. and it doesn't look like a cashgrab to me.

    DTG are still the publisher.

When it comes to TSW is entirely their decision, once its been through testing.

Fair enough, but he didn't pay €70 for a loco, he paid €70 for a 160km long route with 3 locos plus an Expert level locomotive that layers onto other routes, not to mention that the 3 locos from the route layer themselves in other routes.

Really looking forward to that Expert 101 Gameplay Pack for SKW. Im one of the few who actually like this route and always wanted a bit more. Its great that the Expert 101 gets more attention again. First i thought its the long awaited update but with a price tag, after reading the article im sure this will he another treat fron TSG. Especially in terms of realistic operation.

Also, i really hope they've added tunnel reverb sounds, if there is any route in need of this, its SKW.
