Not sure if anyone else agrees with me, but I have absolutely no interest in these photo mode and make a livery streams. I’d much rather watch a 4UP challenge, they are actually entertaining and watching them was a good use of my time before they stopped happening. This isn’t a personal attack on anyone who hosts these streams, it’s just not for me and a larger variety of streams would be nice
Ohhh I had forgotten about the 4UPs! Not that the other streams aren't interesting to me, but I do fondly remember the 4UPs!
Whilst I would love to see the return of the 4ups I think that the two that were done post Sam's departure were missing something (the live banterific element is one of those things), they're also incredibly hard to organise requiring 4 people to do a run, record it, then someone to edit the runs together. After that the same 4 people need to be available for banter live on stream at the same time. I would love to see more streams where we get multiple people together to help with banter and for casual train enjoyers to get involved. As a community we need to improve how we treat the people who stream and be more inviting, that might help in easing DTG folks into the idea of coming on a stream, but remember that most people working there aren't there to interact with us in such an environment, they're there to develop a great train simulation experience. Even when they post on this forum they will often get derided, not really conducive to them wanting to banter on stream. Could DTG ask ambassadors if they would like to be live on streams together and have some fun that way? I would hope so. Pre-recorded videos are all well and good, but imagine the conversations that some of the ambassadors could have live, with us being able to interact too. That would be super cool!
There’s literally been no streams a lot of weeks recently so I don’t see how difficult it would be. But then, I don’t work for dtg so maybe it is harder than we think
Get a 4up is probably very unlikely as dtg don't stream much anymore it has gone down hill since Sam left dtg
Back when TSW2 was DTG's main offering, DTG Protagonist would run a small competition between the community team. 4 staff members would pre-record a run (including himself) and he would present them all in a splitscreen format for everyone to watch. The goal was to obtain the highest score at the end of the run. These have since been replaced with streams in which a staff member makes a livery or has a go with photo mode. Recently DTG Harry made the excellent train-based DnD livestream along with 4 other staff members. So, while the 4UP streams were fun, there's plenty to enjoy these days too.
