Liveries The Gbr Concept Liveries.

Hey I struggle to answer or assist with this. For I do have a massive gap in knowledge in these areas of region’s you mention.
So if you would like me to do some areas for you but using my theme could you possibly assist me with that.
My side of regional work and areas are done because the basic idea concepts has now been produced.
And why I myself is slowly getting around to working on the 390 and then the 800 series.

I think that since me and TMH met a couple of weeks back we’ve had a few quick chats about GBR and is why I have maybe assisted in sharing some ideas for TMH for his work to look slightly similar to the APT work.
But to be far I’m sure my work might look similar to something else on the net because working on the basic concept of a simple design is quite common so may share some similarities.

More so if to people are sharing work and ideas. Why I like to share work and see other work as it can give me something to think about and also the other person in the room to possibly think about.

The if I say Elephant you will think about an Elephant.

Like what we have done in the past is happening here also. Where both inspiring each other.
Could be where respect comes into play and give a nod to those that may have been a part of that inspiration to them.

So for TMH work it’s basic as that’s both our core design principles. Colouring is not CC and so is widely used as in this case with the white red and blue. UK Flag, (Union Jack). It’s the most logical colour to use.

As here is my version coming together. (Very Slowly I’ll DM you MM)


All the 390 I’ve done including the APT with the R200 are designed with GBR theme in mind. These would have been altered after Railway 200 was over. The GBR was a possible project after R200 so as you can see with 390 016 above it has the theme seen on 390 013.

That IC theme away from regional work is a separate theme yet again with its own distinct theme to match across all 390 sets.
Each one slightly different taking historical cues from past branding like LMS built into a more modern design.
Why the work for old R200 work is still on going because it’s linked to GBR work and theme.

Why I said it’s all part of the master plan. And why touching upon old R200 for which I had planned by have members come over to the TSLP paint shop so all work or any of my or their projects could have been run under one management again what I offered to HIM, for task to be centralised for easy of all members.

Anyway that’s the past all I can think about now is the future because tbh I’m still finding it hard.
So yes this little thing going on here is a great distraction and if anything I appreciate THM being here as much as you.

I said about ripping up the rule book so to speak. Me saying let’s not be so stuffy as I do feel I was being like that in some cases.

Hey I thought I’d jump in. It’s not problem as I feel we are sharing work and ideas indirectly if that makes sense.

I don’t mind anyone sharing or getting involved with me for say making a vision come true.
So with the 390 yet not so much the 800 sets I would like to see a full fleet all rebranded. Why not.
It’s a bit of fun and how cool would it be to see so much variety. TSW is a simulation game so why not simultaneously explore fictional work including the simulation aspects of what on offer. What could be etc.

A vision that’s all. And one I openly share like the fool I am

I would quite like to see your take on a GBR Northern livery or Something for the NSE region, if your up for it?

 

Sure I’m always up for a new challenge. If you have basic criteria for the design then I’ll get on to when I can.

I’ll be resurrecting this.

A mock run or test.

I’m not sure if you’d be up for some tube stock as I’d like to mess around with those but don’t have the time, so maybe you could look at Underground stock if fancy that.

So yes I will have a play and if you could provide me some basic outline of what your looking for, ie on what unit.

Well here’s my 390 with a GBR IC theme.

I’ve stayed away from any new logo brand by playing with some old BR brands instead. I’ll be doing a full GBR theme separately away from the APT IC theme (R200 Conversion to GBR).

In this design I’ve gone for a British Airways look. So the flag logo has the contours of a wing. I’m playing around with different styles to see what works best or looks the part basically.

Now 390 016 is fully completed I have a better idea for what I’d like to see from my next 390 full GBR concept livery.

I was passing the 350 so I thought why not spend the extra time taking a few more pictures.

I think doing a bit of research on the area helps, what colour best represents the region, i.e for the Thames & Chiltern region I found that a Grey for the Chilterns and Light Blue for the Thames works well.
If you can, find a way to integrate the traditional Blue, White and Red and the GBR logo in some capacity, also if possible find some way to represent the region through some motif, image, or anything really. It does require quite of free time, if you're a bit of a perfectionist and has more of a research aspect to it.

 

Okay you’re right about the grey because I’ve used that colour for East Anglia area and light blue for chiltern. The colours for the regions I’ve currently been doing are reference for an article I was reading. I thought it was a nice clean way of presenting a new concept.

As this GBR theme if all went to plan would have been my suggestion to any team I had, because to make it right I’d need some of their knowledge. I can and do have some knowledge but I can’t store it well. So things like Brighton Belle line as it served Southampton Docks. I’m interested in Ocean Liners you see. I’ve watched thousands of hours of many videos from 1820s right up to mid 2000s and all the various franchises that have been and gone. Even some regions before the groupings of the big 4. I have access to the BR corporate branding so things like NSE is not a problem. Was on the cards for some time actually yet held of due to fears of any CC infringements.

What you have provided as a basic design task I can run with no problem. I can find the information easy enough it’s just because I can struggle to remember it all or even taking the information in.

Just so I’m not doubting myself but what Class of unit would you use. I have all Uk DLC bar the odd one or two so which ever you prefer really for that region of operations.
