You’d be better off getting the mod in its entirety as I don’t know where those settings are from. You will see better lighting and better graphics essentially.

Yeah, but to be fair I don’t have a photographic, encyclopaedic knowledge of it such that I can recall every element of it at a moments notice :) I also don’t know if any of what was there had been added to or changed, so the easiest advice I could give is just download the mod properly and use it as intended.

Tees and NTP are old routes while they look ok and sometimes very good
they can not compare to the later released routes

Have you got both of these ‘revamped’ mods, worth getting if you havent:

Thorgred No i realise that the older routes will not look as fan dabby dozee as the newer ones like WCMLOS.

zappatime Yes buddy thank you, both installed and they do make a big difference.

But DAMN do you notice the difference in how they're the ones that can manage highs of 240fps, over twice what any recent route can ever hope to attain.

That’s because they’re graphically less demanding as the skybox and environmental scene is much simpler. The routes themselves are also much simpler and less detailed, trackside is kinda the same but the distant scenery is very very different.

Well yes, obviously. But it's just really refreshing each time you load one up, seeing how much smoother it runs.

There's also a fairly pleasant aspect in how the grass texture, for all it doesn't have the nice dense foliage of a route like NTB on top of it, doesn't look like a shiny flat plane of plastic when the sun catches it at the wrong angle, the way it does on most newer routes...

    Hi,
Just an information with latest Nvidia driver 576.80: I have more shuttering and some crashes. Reversing to 576.40, all works fine and much less shuttering.

Mind you, updating drivers cleared your video caches and that might be the cause of stuttering, on first runs post-update.

Hi, I made several runs with new driver. With previous driver, even the first run is more smooth. When I install driver, I always made a fresh install. I will retest the new ones.

JetWash - I wanted to express my thanks again for an excellent mod.

I’ve just switched from an old laptop that could “just” run the low preset, to a new desktop which can run your ultra preset (and maybe even beast) but I’m happy enough with ultra.

It is absolutely game changing and I appreciate all the hard work you have put in :)

First of all, a huge thank you to JetWash for all the hard work.
A quick question if I may?
I play exclusively in VR (using my soon to be bricked G2 - thanks Microsoft). In vR everything is really washed out - grey looking. What setting could I change to make it darker?

    Thanks

    Neil

I suspect the headset uses some form of HDR. I’d suggest turning it off if you can

Does anybody know if there's a way to reduce the lens flare that's popped up on every light source? I think it's part of the core game, ratherh than something introduced by any mod, but it's becoming a bit overpowering. For example - here you can see each illuminated button is creating its own lens flare.

Are you sure you didn't turn that on yourself?
Its turned off by default, read the mods manual.

Does this mod fix the path to the scenic overlook on Peak Forest that such a song and dance was made about how neat it was, up to launch day when it turned out it had been mistakenly reported as an out of bounds bug by testers, and "fixed"?

Not sure if this effects TSW's performance in any way, but I think it's worth looking in to if you're using a Nvidia card.
(Figure I'd post it here, as I'm not sure this deserves a separate thread)

I was watching you tube reviews about hardware and such,
when I stumbled upon one claiming a simple setting can give a performance boost in games.
It's about something called rBAR being disabled even though it shows up in GPU-Z as being enabled.

Anyway it did give him a higher score in 3dmark, so it does do something that might give a few more fps.
Tried it myself to, and I did get a higher score after enabling rBAR.

What I don't know if my frame rate in TSW has improved at all.

i would not turn that setting on global setting
rBar for some games it is great not so for others
i never noticed any gain with TSW

also the more vram your card has the better for rBar
    just test it per game

Tried ReBAR in TSW on 4090 and I got terrible stuttering after a while. So not working for me (unlike in other games where it mostly really adds some performance), but YMMV, it is easy to turn on/off using nVidia Inspector.

    Here's a short 4m video, leaving Euston.

With my new PC, I'm now able to play and record at 4k60fps, with 200% screen percentage while using the Beast version of the mod.
Using LS, and recording with OBS.
I used a 90k video bitrate, but I'll probably bump that up to 120k.

    Its absolutely stunning:love:

Hello sir, work often keeps me away from TSW for a while at a time and I was a little behind on your mod. Just updated it and can say good work as usual! Still remains one of, if not the biggest must have mod for TSW! That said, there’s two things I’m wondering about that maybe were always a thing and I forgot or maybe there’s a way I can fix it in the routes ini file. Obviously it’s no secret that shadows are pretty bad and while the mod and the recommended shadow fix mod makes them look way better, the shadows have a tendency to flicker really bad in certain areas and at certain times of the day, most noticeable in the cab. There’s also this issue of having black flashes from the shadows, most noticeable in Los Angeles on both Metrolink routes (for the sake of this post). Anyway to fix the black flashes and the flickering shadows in the ini?

The other part of my question would be that there appears to be some areas where things appear too sharp. Most noticeable on things like fences, wires, and the sides of buildings in the distance when in the cab. They almost have this flickering/grainy look to them. I can’t remember now if this was always like that prior to updating your mod and I’m just being more picky now because I just updated or if it’s something introduced, maybe by something I did.

What do you mean "finally", the game has been out for half a day. Also, sounds really rude, he does it for free. We are lucky if he does it in the first place

Yesterday I decided to try Godmode on TSW6. After installing the mod, the game froze on startup.
Please confirm or deny that the mod works in the new version of the game. Or am I doing something wrong?

I'm installing the Godmodе pak, Engine Ini, and Godmod Sav.

Godmode works for me, but will need an update to work with the new routes, doesnt crash but not available on a new route with the current version - as is the norm when a new route is released if I recall correctly.

sometimes the old godmode makes the game crash so it is better to wait for a new version

I’ve taken this from a reply I made to a comment on TSC.

As for TSW6 it will depend entirely on when / if GodMode makes it across. I’m hoping that it’s a simple case of reinstalling the mod into the new game, but I will have to make up presets for the new routes once the game is out and GodMode is actually available.

I appreciate very much that you all find the mod as indispensable as I do, but I can’t really mod a game that isn’t actually out yet, or that requires a mod that hasn’t been made yet. When I can, rest assured I will :)
