We all know that's unlikely. TSW6 will be how they "sort out" TSW5 and TSW7 will be how they "sort out" TSW6 and so on.
As an aside to that, one thing that amuses me on the HUD is if you are driving in reverse, the accelerometer actually goes into the brown section as if you were braking, then blue when decelerating!
I've seen people say that before, but for me that is the expected behaviour. An increasing speed in the "negative" direction is the same as a decreasing speed in the "positive" direction.
TSW6 won’t be coming. A source told me they will be continuing to improve TSW5 for the foreseeable future until it’s 99.9% perfect.
TSW 5 hasn't been free for months! The free core update only lasted for about a month after release and ended sometime last October/November
So going on that statement they're keeping TSW 5 around for at least the next 5 years! They'll never get the game 99.9% perfect because they won't fix bugs from old games that have been carried over and they keep introducing new ones when they release new content. As we all know come September/October TSW5 will be abandoned on the scrap heap a broken buggy mess just like every other game before it was and all of the bugs that are in TSW 5 will be carried over to TSW 6
I actually made an error with my previous statement. I meant to say 100% bug free and not 99.9%. We will have the perfect game, nothing to complain about and can drink pina colada’s whilst riding the shap. I predict TSW6 for 2035.
I don't expect perfection but given the current state of the tsw5 core I think it's time for dtg to focus on improving the tsw5 core before thinking about releasing another iteration of tsw
I'm pretty happy with TSW5, the dynamic weather behaviour sucks but given my interest in meteorology I'm probably difficult to please in that respect. The passenger engine too. Otherwise, it's okay. Let's see what the summer brings.
Just compared TSC Northern Lines v TSW Blackool both using Class 142. TSC runs so much smoother. TSW keeps getting frame rate drops. TSW rails look blurry and chocolate colored. TSC with AP Weather in my opinion looks so much cleaner.
I've been contemplating TSC for sometime now due to the more variety/longer routes and non-linear options, its just no TT (with ai trains) that has been holding me back.. think I might finally take the plunge on the next big sale, just losing too much interest in TSW and lack of everything! its the exceptional modern TTs from the modders with additional Liveries to the rolling stock available that has kept me interested..
Timetables for me are very repetitive. Quick Drives are similar on TSC where you can select any train set you own and drive between any 2 points you designate. This becomes especially interesting when you are able to run some of the extended routes (e.g. ECML London-Edinburgh or the Longer combo lines from RSSLO). QDs usually come with AI traffic ready. Free Roams let you change your route as you drive so you can dynamically change your run. There are also a myriad of free scenarios - which make up for the lack of timetables. All of the Denmark stuff is all Free Roam where you can drive anywhere. There is a huge variety of routes in the Netherlands. The con to all of this is you need to get the routes and rolling stock yourself. This feels like a treasure hunt (rather than everything provided on Steam). Once acquired the content is huge which just blows the whole TT discussion out the window. If you want everything provided for you DO NOT get TSC. If you want more choice, a huge variety of purchased, free, workshop stuff and willing to search for what you want then TSC is a fantastic hobby. A real collectors joy. Europe Routes I have: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/europe-routes UK Routes I have: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/uk-routes US routes I have: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/na-routes I have a lot of TSW product (probably 60%+ DLC content) I really only buy TSW when it is on sale. Some really great stuff for TSC from 3rd Party suppliers (non-DTG). If you need help getting this stuff (non-DTG) I could probably help as I have everything cataloged.
TSC is only good with AP enhancement packs. The vanilla game looks outdated. I personally only play TSC for the longer routes myself. WCML TSW (Euston to MK) vs WCML TSC (Euston to Birmingham). I still play the TSW version, but I will drive anything but the Avanti due to how limited the end to end run is.
yep, as one example https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/training-and-timetable-tsw4-vs-tsw5.92087/ *** I noticed in TSW4 that it says that I completed 1,352 out of 17,530 Timetables but TSW5 it says that I completed 00 out of 00. What is up with that? I noticed in TSW4 that it says that I completed 246 out of 246 training modules but in TSW5 it says that I completed 235 out of 252 training modules. What is up with that? ^^^^
TBH, if it is a free update again, that’s fine. If I want the bundled routes, I’ll buy it for these. If not, I’ll take the update.
Same. I love Emulation, I still play PS1,2,3, PSP, GameCube, N64, Dreamcast games on my PC. When it comes to TSW/TSC though, I want it looking the best it can be. Performance and Fidelity. The same can be said for most games new games I play though.
What about his train enhancements, are these worth the purchase for TSC? Im opening a can of worms for myself now lol..Being I finally took the plunge with train sim back in March I feel I've picked the wrong horse as a PC user and should have gone TSC originally by the look of it!
