At the end of the day, while I want the bugs in TSC 77.6b to be resolved, I keep in the back of my mind that it may not happen. I am glad that we have the option to backdate TSC. While it may be a few seconds to move dependencies of a newly purchased route over to the Assets and Contents folder, it's worth it having the option to backdate the core. I appreciate TSC and TSW for what they are for as they have their strong and weak points. Also grateful to the modding community as the mods further enhance TSC and TSW allowing for even more immersion simulation/gameplay
I have been repeatedly asking about specific problems some are encountering and so far have no responses. Are some on here just more interested in complaining than in problem solving?
Main problem I know of everyone encounters is, trains using headlight flares cut out at approximately a distance of 200 - 300ft when the camera is in front or behind of the player's train and AI trains. This does not effect trains that specifically use this function. While some headlights work without the flares, there are trains such as the Metro North M7A and LIRR M7 that only use the headlight flares
There are several specific issues reported on page1 of this thread, I await your suggestions as to how they might be fixed.
I have tested each of these specific complaints and cannot replicate any of them here. The NEC route does in fact start out with a red signal but after that they all seem to work fine. The turntable issue had a solution posted there and it does work.
Including the Red Signal issue with these: AP MML London to Bedford - scenario APSWEP 2O46 and JT MML service 1C00 07:25 Sheffield to St Pancras? I assume you are testing with the beta 78.1a ?
I am afraid the Red Signal bug is everywhere. not just that route or any particular scenario. Yes its beta 78.1a. If they would just fix the signal issue it would be fine otherwise. I am sick of playing at 14 FPS.
That's my experience as well, I'm intrigued as to why Rodney isn't apparently seeing that issue which is why I was checking that he'd tested those scenarios.
I don't understand why just because you have a problem that everyone else must have the same problem. Through the years these and other forums are full of people who have some problem or another that other can't replicate. Let's try something simple. You are reporting very low frame rates yet I don't have that. Seems as if that is either a hardware or a configuration issue. Perhaps you should look there instead of blaming DTG for this issue.
Well, I understood what KrisKol meant with 14 frames per second, it doesn't matter the hardware, it can be last generation, all textures and objects drag on the screen, this simulator renders very strangely compared to other games with DirectX9. The YouTube streamers who have good hardware post videos of this simulator, I see the textures and objects dragging, so there's no point in trying to have the best computer for this simulator, it will always drag. If you don't understand what I mean, then you have serious vision problems or your brain must be very slow. I would even like, if it were possible, that TrainSim-Steve could tell us in which API the screen is being rendered (Present or EndScene from D3D9), but he must have abandoned the improvements of this simulator.
I wish that TrainSim-Steve would finish of the Optimisations that he was doing. Why promise something and not deliver? And why not tell people what is happening? We have put a lot of time and money into this Sim over the years. If they have abandoned it, why not OPEN SOURCE it. That would be a sign of good will from DTG. But of course they do not respond.
They will not completely abandon it, it still makes a profit BECAUSE they have cut most, if not all, development costs and everything now is 3rd party. It is existing on it's laurels.
same, this world is full of scorn, disagreement and unfairness, everybody isn't what it used to be before, everybody despises everything now, everyone doesn't care about anything now so yes, i'm also starting to hate this world now
I'd like to get more info from DTG as well but don't forget what DTG Jamie posted at the beginning of this thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ts-classic-update.91566/ "What does that mean for the core game? We are sticking with the current version of the game code. We did a lot of work on the core last time, and we feel it is now stable for the majority of players. To make any further code changes would again take us along a path of potential disruption for players and for developers, and it doesn’t seem warranted or fair to do that at this point. I took that to mean that we're stuck with the current release version 77.6b which for me and others brought more problems than it solved so I've gone back to v75.8a for day to day use.
Dont worry. I am done with it. I rolled back the bad Nvidia drivers, to "known good ones" but still no luck. There is nothing I can do anymore. I give up on this lost cause. I wouldnt trust anyone anymore, as far as I could throw them. I know that they despise and hate me on here above all else, and its like they keep on trying to prove it to me. OK... I get it now. I am done with it. Especially after spending $2,000 on building a PC.
I think the 14 FPS rubbish has been done on purpose too. Its very consistent and even seems deliberate.
I would also state that I am getting excellent FPS on TSC. I still see lots of performance issues running TSW however it is in my mind acceptable. I have had several experiences with trying to get TSC to behave the way I want. As mentioned before I had a bios incompatability with my Nvidia driver out of the box. Just required me to update the bios on my motherboard board. Other challenges I had were interference from my wireless headset taking up real time bandwidth from the TSC output files and experience of anti virus software (and utility software) cutting into real time running of TSC. My rig is very smooth now. I have TSC on its own SSD drive and also have TSW on its own SSD drive. I would suspect that others who are experiencing performance issues are probably plagued with other software events or clashes competing with RAM or disc memory. It can be fixed. It just may take time to get there. TSC is a labor of love. Once you get there it is infinitely rewarding. Respectfully
You can't be serious that the 14 FPS in TSC is intentional. I think you have a problem with it. If it were intentional, everyone would have 14 FPS in the TSC game. Personally, I don't have 14 FPS, but 89 FPS in TSC DX9 x64 bit and 75 FPS in the dx12 version and more.
Yeah, your right. It is something broken in an asset that is deep inside. Something that I need to hunt down, and fix. Thats if it can be fixed. Becuse the 14 FPS is not consistant, my hunch is that its some faulty asset lurking deep inside in the assets folder. Because now, When I think back, there has been something like it before. And as soon as it is removed or repaired, all is right again. Now its just a matter of finding it.
A good start (you may have already done so) is to validate all of your Steam stuff as that can be done automatically. Also I was running some AP stuff and it was not working correctly. I noticed that AP had recently updated a boat load of DLCs to bring them into align with current TSC. Good luck in finding!
So you deleted liechtensteiner.sg 's comment as I was about to answer it. gee.... way to go huh? Did you lot bully him into deleting it? It just proves me right about some people on here. Its a lost cause.
No, everything's fine. I deleted the post because of a spelling mistake. It's not easy to write English. Greetings from Germany
