Manchester Piccadilly looked really empty though, were are all the passengers?

 

Either their pathing is broken or it's a memory issue

 

I'm hoping it's just due to the preview being on an earlier Dev build and not something owing to memory issues.

Mildmay had a similar issue with no passengers and then it was replaced by passengers all detraining on the first stop leaving the train empty and the route barren for the remainder of the trip. Save for the odd lost soul.

Truth be told I just want this to be good so bad as it's been the top of my wishlist since it was announced. I enjoyed the heck out of Glossop and this is (to me at least) the charm of Glossop and the busyness of BCC all rolled up.

I own Glossop, so for parity's sake, this will go on my PSN wishlist untill we get the same 20% discount Steam users get at launch.

 

l will buy it at launch for both xbox and steam. I was so impressed watching last night’s stream and it looks a wonderful interesting route that ATS have worked so hard to perfect. Happy to pay for both on launch.

 

I don’t think I’ll get this straight away because I don’t much like driving the 323. Reviews might persuade me though.

I have to give credit to ATS though. The route did look excellent. It certainly looks like they’ve put a lot of detail in. I’m glad to see another Dev that is putting in the effort. My experience with ATS routes in TSC has been pretty good so far, so hopefully we continue to get the same level of quality and support for TSW.

With that Steam discount, this is a 100% yes for me. Be able to relive my commuter days on the 323s to Stockport and Wilmslow.

 

Be interesting to see how quiet the route looks without the layers. I have WCML but not Cardiff, east coast or the scot rail 158 (though all are on my shortlist waiting for a sale) so going to see how busy the route looks without those before buying.

 

Definitely a first day purchase for me! ATC put a lot of effort into their first route and should be rewarded for their work. I really hope that the work will go faster and we will see more work from the team. The route, although short, is sufficient for the first step. I hope that the next step will be to extend it to Crewe and we will get a full route and mileage.

 

Looks pretty good from the pictures I’ve seen, would have been a day one had it gone to Crewe but will likely pick it up in a sale pending reviews

Damn, I wouldn't be damn surprised if it turns out that this unfortunate piece with 4 stations to Crewe is built and modeled, but mercilessly cut off and hidden In the editor/

 

While it's a shame PS owners don't get some kind of loyalty discount, of course Xbox and Epic as well but I'm a PS owner so this is biased towards that ofc, I think this is still looking like a day one for me.

ATS have really done a great job on detail and so far (from the single preview) it looks to be almost if not on par with JT level of detail, for me it fits almost 100% into what I consider a perfect route in terms of run times and stopping frequency and it's finally not going to be another $60aud route which is [expletive deleted] awesome!

On the subject of loyalty discounts, iirc UK PlayStation owners were able to receive small discounts on a few DLC releases recently (I think it may have just been Thomas actually) so I don't really get how they can't do a similar thing here but checking your privileges to see if you own MGP and apply MGP a discount, of if not that the same way you get discounts for having PS+? Surely there's a way..

 

I have both Steam PC and Xbox X. I'll go for Steam discount at first and wait for an Xbox discount later, hopefully.

 

Some other points of note from yesterday's preview stream:

Gen 9 has the exact same timetable as PC. They mentioned that the PS5 version ran really well.

The route won't be released on Gen 8 due to constant crashes.

This route is ATS's most expensive add on they've made by far.

Fully licensed by Northern with posters across the route

Manchester Airport wasn't their first choice for a route but the original plan was too ambitious so they scrapped it. It's possible it could come later

They are planning multiple routes and new locos in the future.

No current plans to extend to Crewe.

Route is set in current day but the timetable is based off the 2018 workings for more layering opportunities.

Neutral sections are implemented.

No but game pass players get a 10%?discount. On top of that you can buy a discounted gift card for anything between 8-14% off and put the money in your microsoft account. I have £23 in mine so the route will cost me a couple of quid!!!

 

But that doesn't make sense as the 390s are in their AWC livery. AWC took over in Dec 2019.

 

I don’t think having AWC in place of Virgin is that bad, it still feels natural. It’s better than having an LNER 801, yeah they could give it an unbranded TPE livery but I don’t think they’ll do that

Such a mismatch of a route. Set in 2018 yet we have Avanti 390?
Honestly looks empty compared to real life. A Strange choice to pick for a first offering too. Don't see much longevity in it , few runs and put it away.

 

Good point. It's a shame it couldn't be given a new livery, but it's better than nothing I suppose

Not a word you'll ever use in a sentence unless you're a train announcer, but still.

 

Here in the US its de-train passenger or unload passengers.

 

I was on the fence about this route until yesterday‘s dev build preview by ATS. Now, I think this will be a day one for me. It looked great in my opinion and that was a two week old build apparently, so it will be even better on release. Looking forward to it.

so this part makes me wounder "Neutral Section functionality also features on relevant parts of the route"
are we gonna get a update for the 390,323,350 that gives the Neutral Section functionality some use as iirc only the 87 and the soon to be 86 from JT

 

The 350 already has OHNS functionality, I've had neutral sections cut my power and trip the VCB in the 350 on the WCML South so it surely must

 

Also from the ATS stream the line volt light does go out and back on in the cab of the 323 so it also must have OHNS functionality as well

 

This is nothing against the developer as they are tied into to licensing but Im Hopeful one of the PC modders can update the TT to either modern or coincide with WCML 2019 TT, add some TPE, XC, EMR and any further northern liveries to the current rolling stock available along with a Glossip TT update to mirror Manchester Airport so we can get a better representation for the Manchester Area!

 

I've never noticed mine do it when I've played with the 350 and currently watching the DTG stream and the 323 doesn't seems to be cutting with going through neutral sections

 

Has the station PIS been fixed in the release build? Was showing Liverpool LINE St and not LIME St on Alan’s stream a week or so ago.

 

Stream seemed promising, a short route but well built (apart from that weird ballast bug) and plenty of different stuff to do...

 

As far as I recall the 323 doesn't really need you to do anything with an OHNS and it doesn't *cut* or *pop* with just the Line Volt light going off/on as you pass the section.

The 350 and OHNS on the West Coast Main Line South is a weird one. I have seen YouTube uploads where the VCB pops and in fact I have also uploaded a service where the OHNS is in fact working on the WCML South and does pop the 350s VCB (I wasn't prepared for them to be there)

So maybe its just not on your build? Or maybe I have it by mistake? Who knows why, all I can say is that it is there for me at least.

I have the PS4 version of TSW 5 and I was wondering what rolling stock services are available with this upcoming DLC? I saw on stream there were some for the 66, 350, 150, 153 etc. Are those going to be playable on the PS4 version?

I thought that this was being made *exceedingly* clear but I've seen a fair few people asking after the PS4 version's layers

 

For those of us that spend time on the forums it's been clear, but having watched the stream last night, I don't think a brief mention of Gen 9 only at the start then not mentioning it again, even ending the stream with Jamie just saying "out on our usual platforms at our usual times", was being in the least bit clear.

 

As well as all announcements and promotional material for it.
