Dovetail Games Train Sim World 5 Game Update - June 23rd Feedback Thread

It won’t ever stop any services appearing, it will just limit each AI service to its originally intended train type. If a service is specifically for the 193 it will only ever appear as AI with a 193. If a service is originally for a 185 it will only ever appear as AI with a 185 and no other loco.

 

It keeps crashing now loading in to any service starting at London Euston it did make my save data go corrupt I have go it back to tsw4 level. Removing liveries on the Pendolino and 350 have seemed to sorted crashing out I removed them from via uninstalling them and just have clear weather looked at dynamic weather to see if that was the problem.

Dynamic weather no crashes so far at Euston. EPS is looking the same with or with out dynamic Weather starting from clear

 

My game on Xbox Series was crashing on Koln - Aachen after the update before the one of 23 june. Reinstalling the game didn't help, so I delete everything including my save. After installing and making a new profile, I didn't have any crash. It looks like the previous update is doing something to the save/profile.

 

PS5 Pro, pausing the game now brings up the 'options' tab whereas it used to bring up 'overview', I used that all the time to check for upcoming gradients so while a minor change, it's very annoying.

Ludwigsbahn: Expert Timetable
1) So a lot of locomotives have disappeared from the menu again, especially freight services, Dostos services. It looks like a collision with some DLC again, this map also suffers from this in the basic timetable, although it has somehow stabilized there over time. However, in operation it seems that even services not displayed in the menu appear on the track .......

2) When I start a service with an IC driver, the driver is not sitting in the cab .... strange, in other maps he normally sits there when starting the service .....

3) In the layer menu, compared to the standard timetable, there is a new layer CNL-AI and Mixed2 ..... I was unable to activate these layers, does anyone know what is needed to activate them?

 

It's a known bug, Matt replied in another topic it will be fixed with the next patch. The last patch was part one of two, to fix the performance and layer issues.

 

Actually the whole station area, i tried removing all the mods and it still happens, i will try uninstalling and reinstalling the dlc.

Only on the new TSG timetable, not the normal one.

The new livery is available in Free Roam or the new E94 timetable for Linke Rhienstrecke. It's the wrong era to substitute on to other timetables.

 

After my much smoother experience on WCMLoS, I fired up the Dutch route and much to my surprise it was jerking and stuttering quite badly. Now before the patch it actually ran much smoother than WCMLoS under the same graphical settings. Could be as I haven’t run it for a while it has needed to compile the shaders again but otherwise rather strange. Once I finish up that run, then I’ll give the other two known performance hogs - FSN and Frankfurt to Fulda - a roll.

 

Im on xbox and lot of the routes have improved quite a bit .

 

Minor nitpick about the cream/blue 218:

Is it just me, or does the number and DB logo of the cream/blue 218 look a bit fuzzy from a distance. More fuzzy than the modern one, at least. Perhaps a LOD issue?

 

Performance has been very good for me since the update, now the trick is not to break it again lol

If something could be addressed that would be great, on the BCC 323 the door interlock light doesn't work

 

It is noticeable, however it is smaller. Also with some colours things are going to look more fuzzy. White and red provides good contrast but cream and dark blue not so much. It is like when you see a dark room lit with red lights in a tv show, it often looks more pixellated.

I think this may be a folder thing. At the moment we put mod paks in the DLC folder directly with the DLC, however someone discovered another folder that is for user content (mods) here: Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld5\Saved\UserContent

If the folder does not exist, create it and move your mods there, then test out the mod toggle to see if it works. I have been meaning to try this myself but I haven't had time

Perhaps this update now turns off loading from that folder since it still has to load the DLC a different folder for mods would be a reasonable way to toggle mods on and off.

 

Not sure if it's down to this update but the electrical box at Rancho Cucamonga on San Bernadino is inaccessible due to an invisible wall. On Xbox series S

 

They fixed that ages ago so must be bugged again

 

IvyJoanTurner It works. I moved the God Mode pak file over to that folder in My Documents and deleted in the dlc folder. It still is loaded and works in game with that Mods toggle in enabled. Then changed the toggle to disabled and restarted the game, Now God mode is not loaded and does not work. So whoever that 'someone' is has hit the jackpot as far as how that toggle works. I am going to move all my mods to this folder in Documents and in future will install new ones there.

 

I can confirm this will work yes! If you prefer to turn off mods completly via the settings a restart of the game is needed and it will hide mods after a new start of the game.

 

I tried the new update today and I found some missing trains for the expert timetable on ludwigsbahn. Those are the Ice T, Ice 3, Br 425, TGV, Br 111, Dostos, br 182, br 185, br 193, br 103, br 187, br 155. If you spawn on foot or choose a timetable service you can still see those services and you can drive them. But you can’t choose them directly from the timetable.

Another thing is that I didn’t found the option to turn off the passenger Accessoires.

The good thing is that the performance seems to be better than before. I still need to test it on other performance intense routes like Frankfurt Fulda but for some other routes I noticed a increased frame rate

This is similar to my experience on the standard Ludwigsbahn timetable on PS5. Various trains missing from the timetable menu - usually one or two from BR411 (ICE T), BR612, BR628 and TGV, but it varies as to which ones are missing. They are present in the route but are missing from the menu. This has, however, been going on since before the update. I was just logging what was missing each time I launched the game to do a future bug report. To add to the oddity of this, the BR103 and BR218 are always present in the timetable menu but the services spawn on foot and I’ve never seen the trains in the route.

 

Related to the June 2 patch, this was fixed:
"Kassel – Wurzburg
- Adjusted gamepad controls so PZB safety system no longer acknowledges when not needed."

This works for the regular BR 401 (PZB doesn't acknowledge when not prompted), but doesn't seem to be implemented on the railbow (Klimatschützer) livery version of the BR 401

 

I noticed something when tinkering around with the cream/blue 218 a little...
When I'm in Free Roam on basically an other route than Linke Rheinstrecke, and I spawn the cream/blue 218, the clock always shows 12:00.

Tried it on 10 different routes, like Ruhr-Sieg-Nord, Niddertalbahn, Mittenwald... always same result. Except on Linke Rheinstrecke.
It's not a big deal, just wanted to mention it

So far so good. Didn't have one Game Crash since the update. When there is not much going on, the Game runs even a bit smoother then before, but lots of AI trains still give you quite low fps.

The real "bottleneck" still seems to be creators club liveries. The game severely drops fps or even stops for a brief moment, sometimes liveries aren't loaded in time at all, leaving consists with ghost like empty spaces between the carriages. I hope this can get touched on in further updates.

Im very happy that DTG finally has taken serious steps in that regard, keep it on !

 

When is the second part of this big update coming.

I thought the second half was supposed to address the blur problems, but there's no mention of it. In fact, they call it a small update. I'm puzzled...

 

I think this is something they are still working on. AFAIK, the second half was to fix mislayering

 

This is what was communicated when the first part came out:

"This patch was just the first half of a two-part memory update, with the next part aimed at addressing a concern we've seen where players aren't seeing some of their layered content on particular routes. This should provide access to all of your owned layers, an issue which is directly related to memory.

As we look to the future, now that stability has been addressed, our focus will prioritise tackling blurry texture and visual quality. Thank you for your continued patience while our team works hard to ensure the best experience possible."

Today's update should fix layered content, blurred textures are next on their to do list.

I downloaded the Patch today on Steam and i still Miss the 218 with Timtable.

 

What could be some of the restored missing layers they’re talking about? Does this mean console players get the missing Frankfurt S-Bahn layers, or maybe everyone finally gets the railtours that were removed from the WCML South timetable refresh just prior to release?

 

No, unfortunately this is not it at all. For some players a recent update removed layers that they already had, such as freight layers or the 72 stock on WCML, or the 465 from SEHS, and some stuff concerning FTF, and who even knows what else. So this patch was supposed to fix that. But no new content (unless some previously blocked layer was accidentally activated, you never know).

 

Having played Frankfurt-Fulda on Series X since the update all the missing services for me have all now seemed to have returned and performance overall seems better - although blurry textures still occur regularly, sadly.

 

Now that I have had a chance to play it, it does seem that all layers have been returned to WCML South as advertised. The missing 465 is also present again on LBN. The blurriness did seem even worse, at least on WCML South, which I suppose was to be expected. I'd rather have all layers with blurriness, than missing layers with somewhat improved blurriness!

 

DB BR 218

• Updated the incorrect exterior decals for the 1980s epoche.
• Fixed an issue with era-inappropriate decals for the Blue/Beige livery.

Yesterday the second part of the update took place, one of the points is the above mentioned BR218 improvements. On PS5 Pro I haven't noticed any BR218 DLC update, and even when I look at the beige blau version of BR218, I don't see any changes, or I'm looking wrong....

 

Has anyone on PS5 gotten the June 30 update yet? I went to look and I am STILL not seeing Bombardier Bilevel on AVL so either the update hasn’t come or it didn’t do its job for the umpteenth time.

 

The new update seem to have made My AVL Route disappear into the underworld because now the entire route doesn’t appear on Game even though it’s installed , I’ve even reinstalled and still poof gone ..

CNL-AI is the City Night Line AI-layer. It requires Hamburg-Lübeck and Linke Rheinstrecke. The LFR coaches I picked because they looked the most similar to the CNL coaches that were used back in 2014. HBK is for the MRCE BR182.

Mixed2 requires Bremen-Oldenburg and Kassel-Würzburg. BRO is used to replace the older Ruhr-Sieg-Nord wagons for the BRO Tadgs since these have more realistic physics/more modern standards in terms of the G/P and Empty/Loaded levers.

Are you still experiencing the missing services? This was an issue when the patch was first launched since the build configuration files were missing some fields that made it remove a bunch of layers. There was a later hotfix that should have fixed that issue. Let me know if this is still an issue and I will forward it to DTG

 

This is my current expert timetable, sometimes the 642 appears, but then 628 and 612 disappear. Also the 612 doesn’t appear in the default timetable as selectable

 

I see. It is likely that consoles haven't received the hotfix yet, and only PC has. Hopefully the fix will be out by the time the Kassel-Würzburg Expert Gameplay pack is released. Until then I would honestly suggest not playing the Mannheim-Kaiserslautern Expert timetable since the lack of services will heavily alter (make boring) your experience of the services that do exist. As you can see it is even missing the base MKN rolling stock (which will make up a majority of the services, especially freight).
