first off just wow the route is amzing as a local to the area and someone who spent a lot of time at Picc when i was doing my dispatch training however there is a few things ive picked up on 1.the strange chap behind the fence at gatley 2. the TFGM logo at the same station when not at the others 3.the 350 services at platfrom 14 not stopping at the end of the platfrom at Signal MP389 they seem to stop at MP388 signal which is the wrong place 4.the 350 PIS seems a little lost (10:29 towards MIA) but still a great route looking forward to see where you go next
Platform: PC Something odd going on with the signals on this route mainly whilst being routed into Longsight Depot but I have also noticed it whilst being called on to a train in Manchester platforms. You get a single yellow on the main aspect with the hot strip being red on the side of the signal, the APL lit and also the route indicator half working? EDIT: Also noticed whilst watching the DTG preview stream the APL was lit for a yellow aspect whilst approaching Manchester with the hot strip showing red on signal MP307
Weekend timetable: Some class 390/0 cars have somehow flipped around meaning the pantograph is the wrong way, jumper cables don’t connect and the gangways are missing
Im sorry you feel like this. I think everyone's opinion is valid, more so sometime with additional context to help formulate it.
Right because that’s exactly how it works. Fact of the matter is it’s another rushed, issue filled route released too soon. Where’s the pride man? Release first, fix later is so ingrained in software development now that devs have become sloppy and unfocused. It’s the only way to explain how these things get released. Id also wager they had plenty of assets to work with and it was just a case of learning the engine. That’s fine and all and we all start somewhere but still, we’ve got dev teams releasing their umpteenth route with issues so you can’t use that as an excuse! I’ve said it before, slow the releases, fix the issues and take the time to craft a solid product. For goodness sake if you have to charge a little more on release, as long as it of good quality no one will mind. But cash is king, quality is second, customer satisfaction is third. IF a new challenger appears dtg need to watch out, and it can happen and does happen. You will lose your base overnight. I think the only reason it exists currently is because there’s no alternative to be had. Me I’m fed up of tsw5 BUT it’s the only thing on consoles for train simulation so I have to put up with it.
Watching part of the stream yesterday I still wonder whether ATS bit off more than they could chew with this project and for a first foray into TSW route building should have done something less ambitious. And I had to smile at the work which went into modelling parts of Piccadilly which will not be used - yet now we are seeing scenery issues on other parts of the route. And while it has been played down on release, we know from the public laundry washing there was a fair bit of nastiness going on behind the scenes so how much of this played a part in what we got? Anyhow my main reason for not buying simply remains that without the core issues of service chaining being addressed, these short bus stop routes are of little interest to me. Now if ATS had done Llandudno to BFF or Lancaster to Skipton with a bit of scenery and some longer runs I would probably have Day One’d it.
DTG Jamie Morning Jamie did xbox get that patch update yesterday. You said you was waiting for xbox to sign it off and thats the last we heard. Thanks
Yep, noticed this also, pretty sure it should be a flashing yellow. Don Coffeys cab ride video shows a flashing yellow for the turnout. Hopefully this and the depot entrance signal mentioned in another post above will be addressed in a patch. Still a cracking effort for their first route though.
I did nit watch the stream was any mention of why no route maps. Must be the only route except freight routes that does not have maps.
They got fixed in a patch last night when the pre-release build was patched to the release build. Now all we have to worry about are the huge mountains of aggregate blocking the track on the Stockport branch!
Hello DTG Jamie - thank you for the feedback thread - I hope I am doing this correctly... Firstly, Its a super fun route ATS have done a fantastic job! Just a minor thing that would be great if updated at some point! Playing on PS5 Class 323 - TSW3 rain effects on the windshield - I know its an older train, but would be great to see this uplifted to the latest TSW4 / 5 standard. Otherwise, great route - looking forward to more to come! Thanks!
No achievements = no purchase. Oh well, and I wanted to support the dev too. Are we just done with achievements on Steam as a concept?
They keep saying Microsoft/Sony will let them do trophies because its gen 9 route only how true that is i dont know.
With 350 you to swith ac/dc power on and then raise the pantograph then your good to go . Well thats what you on xbox
Well, that's rubbish. Won't buy till it's massively discounted (if at all). Seriously falling out of love with TSW5.
That came across differently than what you first wrote, but indeed, criticizing something without providing arguments isn’t ideal and doesn’t help the creators either.
Ahh Thank you dal#7945 - I think I was doing things in the wrong order :-D Much appreciate your help!! Its cool that you can start cold and dark!
Can we have the route audio fixed there is no bridge reverb a standard now for all new releases, why are ATS not held to the same criteria as for other route devs? Good track audio is a must for proper immersion please DtG keep up the standards. Oh and the Stockport gravel mountains, what do beta testers actually do? Not drive the routes obviously.
Will that be TSW new standard? First no on Frankfurt S-Bahn, now no on Manchester.... If that's new TSW I'm done with it
PC Player - Steam Sunday Timetable Service 1H67 Class 390 14:28 Unplayable as you are spawned on foot at Heald Green station.
The Manchester bound platform at East Didsbury doesn't have the right clearance with the train, pulled in on a 323 and it's partially clipping along the train as it's just a fraction too close. The GMPTE "Mblem" is missing from almost all station entrances, I think Gately is the only one with it. Are posters missing? There seems to be a large amount of blank poster spaces at stations as though they are missing or removed without replacement. Heaton Chapel - ballast texture jumps up 15ft or so, on the Manchester bound fast line. Fortunately no collision so just unnerving when it jumps up as you approach it. AWS sounds missing from Pendolino, not checked if this is due to the recent update so might not be route specific. On the whole, it seems very good so far
From first impressions, this is an exceptional route. I particularly love the ability to explore the stations a bit more than in previous routes. Well done ATS! a request to DTG to please add in a route hopping point in Manchester / Glossop. This is another case where route hopping is working in one direction. Would also love to see some AI trams added in at Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.
That doesn’t stop them putting achievements on Steam though. There’s no limitations with achievements on Steam as far as I know, TS Classic has over 1,000 of them!
Okay I had a few crashes now, which is annoying. But even worse, somehow once I restarted the game WCML south and the Scotrail services seems to disappeared (or at least the trains) it’s a very weird bug, I have to restart the whole PS5 to make the game work again. Please this needs to be fixed ASAP
Why do none of the layer in trains start or finish at Ardley. Also on journey mode chapter 1 every job its been raining how are you supposed appreciate the route if its pouring of rain. Also there is some really strange timings aswell like not letting passengers of until a certain whats that all about.
Tell me about every job in chapter 1 pouring of rain . It was like on a lot of other routes journey mode as well.
Scenario's in TSW, for the majority, are rubbish. A Scenario should not simply be a Timetable service A-B, it should have a unique point of difference, and that difference should not be ""its snowing"" or ""battle through this thunderstorm"" nor should it continue to be ""a train has broken down, go and rescue it""..... Skyhook have become lazy in this respect lately, their Cargo Line scenario's are simple A-B timetable services, you don't even walk to your loco and couple it up to your consist. I feel like the community would like TSW to improve whilst DTG are happy to serve up the same old slop we had 5+ years ago.
What I like most are the timetable runs. Scenarios aren't really my thing they often feel very unrealistic. Driving in reverse in the same cab happens way too often, even though a locomotive has two cabs that let you drive in either direction. So why drive in reverse?! I rarely come across a scenario I’d want to play again. The focus should be on expanding the timetable mode instead!
