I've been wondering when Iarnród Éireann will Collab with Dovetail so we can finally have Irish Railway in Train simulator In terms of what routes we should have I personally think we should have to the obvious route that being Drogheda - Rosslare Europort But knowing DTG won't do the whole route in one I think it would be better for them to cut it into 2 DLCs The first one being Drogheda - Dublin Connolly And the second one being Dublin Connolly - Rosslare Europort As for motive power it's should be obvious they include the IÉ 29000 as it's very common train on that route and with the majority of them Terminating at Drogheda, they should also include the IÉ 22000 as it's another common train not just on that route but everywhere in Ireland as it's the only intercity multiple unit, the IÉ 81000 for the DART and finally the rolling stock used by Enterprise for AI services between Dublin Connolly and Belfast. Personally I would like it to be set in the present day so around may & June of 2025 mainly because all the mentioned trains are still in service. Now should we have the trains as separate DLCs or included with the routes? Personally if we get them as separate DLCs they could be better quality. What do you all think? Would you like the Irish Railways in TS Classic?
Sounds like a good idea. I do not know much about Irish railways so to have one in TSC can be very nice. I would surely buy it.
Same here! Just dunno when it'll release on steam yet and if the quality is bad then I'm not buying it unless the trains make up for it if the trains release as separate DLCs
A bit optimistic about "when it'll be on Steam", as far as I am aware there isn't a route let alone if it were to be available on Steam and as for DTG doing it well forget it, its been made clear in this Forum that they will launch third party but not develope TSC dlc.
Well I don't know any third parties that can do it and actually make it good. I've asked AP About it, he can't do it I've asked ATS about it, he can't do it either So who does that leave Either Master key simulation or Thompson interactive
Your best bet is approaching the people who did the Irish routes for MSTS, if they’re even still about. The fact that in 18 years of TSC existence, from Rail Simulator through Railworks to where we are now, not one commercial developer has done an Irish route sadly tells me it’s not considered viable. And to me an Irish route would only be of interest set in the classic loco hauled period, with 001’s, 121’s, 141’s, 181’s, 071 locos and Park Royal, Cravens, the BREL Mark 2 aircons and the Mark 3’s used on front line services. DMU operation holds little interest for me - well except maybe in the North with the Thumper DEMU’s out to Londonderry, Portrush and Larne.
Apparently, there is an freewere Irish Route called 'Dublin to Limerick, Cork and Tralee' from https://treinpunt.treinenwereld.eu/RW/, which is part of SimTogether. There is also another Irish Route called Edenderry V3 from the same site, and I think it only uses Euro and US Loco & Asset Packs (or default RW assets basically). But that site is due to close down in October, so get them while you can!
I've tried to. Yea it keeps saying the connection isn't safe. So I'll wait until just trains release Irish Content that's better quality and easier to access. Also I did recently email them about adding Irish Rail to TS Classic.
Think you will have a long wait. AFAIK Just Trains are now working exclusively on TSW products and again, various Irish projects have been suggested over the years, but sadly none have enough “legs” to be commercially viable.
There's Dublin to Limerick, Cork & Tralee and Edenderry routes with former UKTS addons from https://archive.org/search?query=uktrainsim, but you might get "the connection isn't safe" page. I think Irish Rail on any train simulators are of rarity, and any attempt to find them on Google will probably give you nothing but pages YouTube and en.wikipedia.org. Have you got Trainz, I think there are Irish content for that simulator.
There are no commercial Irish routes in Trainz. There is a smattering of locos and rolling stock for the south and a few items for the north on the DLS, but these are very basic freeware efforts. Some Park Royal and Cravens coaches that don’t even have interiors. Not even sure on the routes, I contributed a model railway style design based on Bagnelstown to the DLS a few years back, but not aware of much prototype. There was a guy purporting to do the whole NIR network, later extending south of the border but that seemed to die a death.
My experience of SimTogether is good and it is because they are winding up that they (probably) have not renewed their certifification but I have downloaded recently without problems.
For what I meant, there is Irish content for Trainz from DLC, I didn't spoke for the commercial items. As well as some coaches with no interiors that you mentioned, there was also a NIR 450 Class which is actully a repaint of the Paint Shed Mk3 coaches and made it powered, which some Class 150 and 156 BR Sprinters were created from in the early days of Trainz. But as for you, rtainaka199, I'm afraid you are probably set for not getting any Irish Routes anytime soon, so it's either Irish Enterprise for MSTS or nothing.
