Great news for a BCC revamp, let’s hope nobody manages to botch this one…

Does the XC license hint at a possible 220 and route for TSW6? As the 220 would layer into BCC as well could Rivet be the developer of the new UK core route for TSW6 like last year with WCMLS?

Looks like a much needed revamp for BCC using 350s and 390s. Very interested in this as the route itself is superb, but it was just limited by how dead it was.

Do you think they have actually learned this time on how to make a good addon?

Two words in your post I'm already very concerned about

    "Rivet"

    "Games"

    Let that sink in...

Very happy that mote variants and operators of the 170 are planned for the game, being utilised as well as layers from WCML South to give BCC some life.

Not quite sure about the loco being developed by Rivet, however; I realised very quickly that Edinburgh to Glasgow was simply a waste of money for me and the Class 170 made for Fife Circle was a bit disappointing for me in some of its features after looking at loads of videos showcasing it. Glad I never bought it.

I hope the xc class 170 layers for Fife circle since I think xc still runs there a few times I’ve seen a few

TSW can't get the XC license, TSW can't get the XC license - finally! Hopefully we see a 220/221 at some point too :)

XC would be voyagers in that area AFAIK. Scotrail would do the 170s

I mean no confirmation yet but that would make a ton of sense for them to be doing the UK core route. Maybe continuing the WCML from MKC to BNS? Since they were the devs on the first section they may have been working on it to some degree this whole time.

Hopefully lessons will have been learned regarding the substandard timetable.

But you do see other xc trains like the class 170 and a few others but to be fair I was seeing them closer to Aberdeen than Edinburgh

That's pretty neat, nice to finally see the older lights appear in TSW. Electrostars next, please! :)

Will Rivet also cover the XC turbostars which have the newer headlight design (which already exist on the SR version)?

The 170 model is pretty decent.

Rivet, for all their faults do know how to build physical models l

So I'm happy to see that, especially Cross Country as that can layer into Midland Mainline as well.

This is cool. I think having the 170s & voyagers would go rather nicely with a BCC extension down to Cheltenham Spa (considering both XC 170s & Voyagers stop there IRL), but alas, that's just wishful thinking

I think that the Crosscountry licence has not only been given to rivet, but also to DTG, which could make an impact on one of the TSW6 deluxe locos

It won't XC only use 220's in Scotland.

The only Cross Country trains which operate in Scotland currently are the Voyagers. The 170s are more midlands, Peterborough, Stansted Airport etc. - they are described as the 'regional' units

Weren’t they operating in 2024 though and that’s the setting of Fife circle if I’m correct, I’m probably confusing lockdown with other years

To the best of my knowledge, no, the 170s are their regional fleet and the 220/221s are their long distance fleet. I've never seen an XC Turbostar in the North East or above (geographically)

Well since it's Rivet i'm a little skeptical but this is a good idea for a gameplay pack

Crikey the July Roadmap sounds like it is reviewing my mod. (Or CTTF's timetable mod). Plagiarism? ;)
    Scenarios - Bcc Extra Paths

I wonder what the price point will be for these as you can do practically everything discussed in the roadmap already (but only if you are a PC player of course). Still, as already discussed, a Cross Country licence won't be a bad thing for the game in general. Especially if it comes with a Voyager :)

Sounds plausible. Maybe with a little bit of Dawlish seafront running in TSW6 too?
(If they do have CC and GWE licences it would be criminal to not do that iconic route).

Really glad we’re getting the XC Turbos into the game before they all end up in the new horrid livery.

Overall I’m looking forward to seeing more of this pack, it adds a ToC which is seen all over the country, expands the gameplay on BCC which gives it some variance outside of the bus stop like service pattern, the WMR 170 is a very nice addition (one which will add a nice layer for that upcoming Crewe DLC perhaps) & it means us Turbostar lovers who avoided Fife Circle can finally grab it.

Honestly these are the types of DLCs I want to see, expanding ToCs to more rolling stock so that we don’t get situations like MAC with LNWR & Scotrail, aswell as taking a one trick pony route & giving it more to offer. TSW has a lot of good routes, a lot of good trains & alot of potential to offer. This sort of pack will really move toward putting the UK in line with German content.

This is really good news, and it'd be nice to see it playable on the MML route, and as AI at Cardiff and Peterborough.

No Cross Country 170s have operated Passenger services in Scotland.

Some may have gone up for refurbishment or something like that.

RG have never really had issues modelling trains. Their 170 could do with audio improvements, but as far as this pack goes, it plays to their strengths!

Absolutely. Huge news to get an Arriva license in the game. Props to the DTG licensing team once again!

XC could pretty much layer onto most modern routes, more than less really.

I’m pretty stoked with this news.. having neglected BCC for about a year waiting for some layering updates to come!

Well. Rivet are basically going to continue to ruin a good loco. I can bet you the quality of this pack will be lower than the ScotRail 170 and not higher. It's very cool to see that we've got the cross country license tho and makes me wonder if TSW6 will star a route featuring both XC and WMR

I'm a very big fan of this concept and it could be what brings me back to BCC,
but given Rivet's history with timetables I think I'll have to wait until closer to the time to decide.

Very good to see CrossCountry in the game though.

As far im remembering the 170 has still no running sounds.

Or to say it "botched by an update" and ignored by Rivet.

So why should i care as a customer?

And if they did do the Gloucester side with the Severn Tunnel, they would slot perfectly in on the Cardiff to Nottingham and vice versa services........

So this I was not expecting. Rivet have a very up and down history sure, but honestly the quality of their 170 was the best thing about Fife Circle and I'm more than happy to see it return. Biggest concern that I think applies here is their rep with timetables especially after WCMLS and Fife, but honestly if they maintain the original BCC timetable as a base and just add the extra layers on top of it? Can't go wrong.

Actually really excited for this one.

I’m really excited about this new timetable. I’d always wanted to be able to do an express run on the fast lines down to Bromsgrove, but it was never possible (either in scenario planner, or by manually placing a train in timetable mode because it would never let you overtake a slow train, even if it was on the adjacent track!)

    Can’t wait.
