Every time I'm trying to take a a class 390 from the depot into Manchester Piccadilly it keeps crushing and I am on the PS5
Couple of issues. Had some journeys on the 390 where I've gone up and down the train twice and still had 2 or 3 tickets outstanding. No idea where the missing passengers are unless toilets on the 390 are now in play! Also, I did a service from Wilmslow to Piccadilly. Between Stockport and Piccadilly I rejected a "Wilmslow to Stockport" ticket as the passenger should have got off at Stockport. However, I was penalised points for it.
PS5. The game audio is really quiet and I keep missing AWS warnings meaning I’m stopped multiple times on a run from Man Airport to Piccadilly. Highly annoying.
Ok..on journey mode, heading between Levenshulme and Piccadilly the AWS was triggered. Again. Got out the cab for a wander and inadvertently fell through the side of the bridge/viaduct into the bus station below, essentially stranding me and meaning the journey was over!
Watching the Don Coffey video of the TPE service from Manchester airport to Carlisle really highlights the detail in tis route. Honestly the only thing I think would improve the route is working RA indicators (and a certain extension that hasn't been mentioned to death), but that's just me being picky. Hats off to everyone involved.
No achievements, no collectibles, no mainline TFW trains. 150/153 only ran this route due to shortages.
Some of the timetables seem a bit early - like some 350 journeys I arrive in to the airport 10 mins early. There's also some issues like when a train is already in the platform and you have to pull In behind it you lose out on the accuracy bonus because you have no choice but to stop behind the other train. Complaints aside it's a solid route and as a local I love it
Same issue on series X. between Piccadilly and Longsight, the performance is awful, no matter what layers I turn off or livery’s, constant blurs and stutters. It’s the worst when you past ardwick towards the Depot, the amount of FPS I loose is wow. I don’t know if it’s a memory issue or that part of the route is too cluttered up.
Manchester Piccadilly, making your way up from the far (14?) platform. Spotted this floating texture.
Catch points, I assume, lovely detail. Used to 'safely' derail out of control rail vehicles. (I say 'safely' because for some reason a significant number of them that I've seen IRL direct a train straight towards a bridge pillar or signal box or some other significant piece of infrastructure)
As Tank621 has said, they are catch points. I just went back and watched an old cab ride video and they are definitely there. Great attention to detail.
How am I supposed to complete the conductor mode section of the mastery for this route when the "wait for the next stop" objective never clears on any service I do. Even after the train has stopped at the platform, its status reads as "stop arrived at instruction". Didn't check any tickets wrong up to that point, and even if I did that shouldn't happen...
Not sure if it's specific to this route, but I liked the Glossop deal, making Manchester cheaper by 20%, which is what Glossop is on sale... so I got Glossop for "free" essentially. Bonus! They both tie into Manchester so that's a nice deal.
I had no issues with this one (on PS5). The route introduction also counted as a conductor timetable What platform are you on?
Like at Paddington in 2016 where they sent a 165 straight into one of the OHLE gantries, taking the entire station approach out of action?
I was live for that, Thames Valley TRC on the Inner Desk. Ground zero in the Control, at any rate. The rest of the shift became a somewhat surrealistic blur. Let’s just say contingency plans might work on paper but turning trains around at Reading only really works when you have country crews coming in to go back out!
Is that why when everything is messed up, when there's been a situation, we get turfed off Paddington-bound services at Reading? Happened twice on services from Bristol last winter.
PC. It seems this issue is occurring when spawning in the timetable first and trying to start guard mode from inside the train and not from the main menu. Unfortunate as this should be something that works regardless of how you start.
Yes! Least its not just me that thinks it. Another issue ive noticed is a few VMS type signals seem to be bugging out when routing into Longsight TMD. As per attached image, signal MP 97 is showing a single yellow (whilst the pig ears show it at danger). Theres also a Position Light off too! I take the correct routing would be Position Light & stencil 'SG'? Talking of position lights, it would be nice if these came off via approach release (as you hit the track circuit) instead of them being off from many blocks away.
Little timelapse video of Manchester Piccadilly in case anyone is interested how busy it is over the course of an hour or so.
I think scenarios are broken in general for Mastery, none of mine (from any route) are counting for monthly either.
Series S. this route so far while a great route is the worst one I've ever played. Every other run CTD's and it's getting beyond a joke how badly this game needs optimising!
Series S, it you delete your saved data before running the game it seems to be more reliable. noticed several locations where there’s no check down for the slower speed diversions. A shame these are missing as the flashing yellows at Alderney seem to work. No Avanti via Styal? It’s a diversionary route and the Sunday timetable could have included this. In my experience some of the non stop Manchester to Stockport workings go via slow lines instead of fast, again this could have been included a good route but room for improvement.
ATS will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure I heard on the stream the Sunday timetable wasn't complete. Maybe something that could be adder later. I once went on a diverted service on cross-country from Manchester many years ago but hadn't been listening to the announcements stating it was diverted. Starting panicking when we'd been going for about 20 minutes and I hadn't seen Stockport!
Conductor mode TFW service from Wimslow to Manchester Piccadilly. The train left Stockport and there were passengers with tickets Wimslow to Stockport since the train has left their destination station these should have been invalid tickets but the were considered valid.
Yes that is pretty much is (or was, as I retired in 2018 so don't know what current thinking is) the contingency for an all line block between Paddington and Reading. Long distance services turn round at Reading, subject to crews, with local trains running a shuttle as far as possible. Of course that latter aspect will have changed now with Crossrail. To avoid running out of space at Reading there is a stacking system with trains held back at Didcot, Newbury, Swindon etc. until space opens up. The additional complication with electric traction is - or was, it might have changed - if you have an issue at Paddington the electrical isolation goes out quite some distance, might even be Hayes. So if the power goes off or has to be isolated in an uncontrolled or emergency way you end up with anything pure electric traction stranded.
I submitted a ticket for this and for the general mastery counter, and the regular mastery timer (issue with monthly mastery) was reset. This challenge however is still an issue. Have you completed it yet? PS5
Spawned a designed 9 car 5x 153 and 2x 158 at the back at Manchester airport sat in driving seat the whole thing flipped over and said service failure derailed.
PC Steam There is snow on the tracks at Manchester Piccadilly on the points for platform 5. Other assets have snow on them as well, such as TPWS grids and the backs of the CIS screens.
From the class 66 runs I have tried, it appears that only the 4 RHTT services are counting towards tier 2.
Xbox Series S. After spending the last 40 years around the Manchester network there are only two words to describe this route, Absolutely Stunning. The level of detail and the amount of time that must have been spent is incredible and I must warmly congratulate all the development team for their effort in producing this truly wonderful product. The stations themselves are brilliant and really capture the essence of the route, especially the back areas of Piccadilly and the Airport station which are so accurate. I have thoroughly enjoyed this simulation so very well done.
I have encountered a similar issue with the 'Sunday getaway' challenge in Tier 1. Finally completed it by doing one of the all stoppers with the 323 from Picadilly to Airport. Other sunday services with the airport as destination (express 323, express 350 and depot run with the 350) didn't work.
Having spent a lot of time with the route, I can now confidently it’s an absolute favourite of mine and a stunning debut. Yes there are bugs and some scenery issues to sort out but it’s launched in a LOT better state than many previous DLC’s. Well done to the ATS team, keep up the great work.
This route is really well made. The attention to detail is stunning. I find the somewhat shorter services a joy to play, really nice to pick up one or two services when you have little time available. Just a few niggles: - The Sunday airport mastery goal doesn't work with all services that fit the description. Only an all stopper service with the 323 from Piccadilly to the airport triggered the target. - Sort of the same issue with the class 66 target in tier 2. Only the RHTT services seem to trigger this correctly. - Wonder why the iteration of the class 66 is a seperate train from the existing class 66? - The headlights of the RHTT services are not always set up correctly. On the first service, the driving cab of the forward loco had the taillight attached, and the rear cab of the trailing loco had its headlights on. Nothing serious though, and solvable with a few workarounds. All around great release for ATS!
what's happening with the promised achievements/trophies on console! Alan did say they'd planned for the route to have them but they still aren't there
1A71 - just got side swiped by another Pendo, on the way out of Manchester Did it again and was fine, think I was a little late the first time
Anyone else think that timings are way to generous. Dont get me wrong we all like that little bit of extra time but getting to station with 5 mins to spare having to wait the whole gets boring. I thought this was a fast pace route. Also some depot move instant derails and the trains colliding needs sorting ASAP. Also noticed some job descriptions are completely wrong example job 5k12 longsight to Crewe job descriptions says longsight to wilmslow but actually its longsight to Piccadilly and there are quite a few like that.
