Apologies in advance if there is another thread of similar standing (if someone would be kind to direct my attention I’d appreciate it), but I’ve been having a think about certain IRL railway issues/roles that could possibly be featured in game. Such as: Engineering Works and Construction Delayed Passenger Services (possibly due to weather, “trespassers” although never seen in game, late running services ahead of your service). Possible Bad Weather creating scenarios out of the blue, like snow drifts, fallen trees, points failures etc Having the ability to be a platform dispatcher and utilise the interaction system between yourself & passengers. Unusual allocations for services due to “lack of” rolling stock. Just off the top of my head, but these could bring a whole new form of immersion.
I love all of the features there all of them would make the game so much more realistic and fun to play my favourites being the engineering work and delays which plays into more of a random event role which I would quite like to see in the next instalment of tsw.
Another cool thing would be for platform announcements and at least gsmr functionality of entering headcodes
I would honestly love to see the whole scoring/medal system scrapped. Getting a Platinum medal is worthless when the number of ‘excess’ points you earn on a run takes you well over the score required for Platinum. Add to that that you still can’t get certain medals because you can’t earn enough points to qualify and the whole system is just wonky. Do we really need it? Would we miss it? I wouldn’t. I’d enjoy the game more.
I definitely agree that it's something not many people would miss. I'm not one for medals, so if I end up getting a silver medal on a route for whatever reason, I'm not gonna replay the entire service just to get a greater medal. But I'm with you on removing it as a whole, I'd much prefer having a checkmark next to the completed service and keep it movin'.
Something I would like to see in TSW is bugs on the window screen and you have to spray it to clear the bugs off it as that would add more realism for me
Somethings I like to see in TSW 6 Improved Guard/Conductor Mode In train/station annoucements Random events causing delays in service mode. Add Guard/Conductor based Scenarios to add a variety to the standard driving Scenarios.
I would prefer to see a career based profile rather than medals or achievements etc. Run 8 has the infamous “Vernometer” which keeps track of factors more pertinent to a real driver’s/engineer’s job. Including a record of overspeeding and SPAD’s but also more workaday details such as the mileage accrued on individual loco types, the number of industry cars you have successfully serviced etc, etc.

Be good to have decision making when calling the signaller at a danger signal to divert around a train in front of you by use of Relief, Goods and Fast and slow lines. Also then live delays for other timetable trains as a result if you pass in front of their path.
