That would be mid-2000s then. I think it would be a tall order as the commuter services would need 321s and 360s and you'd be adding a 90 and its DVT along with a DBSO. Not that I'd complain, it would be a great DLC but it would be more JT's style to go for the 80s or 90s with one type of intercity with the 86 and a new DBSO, a new Class 321 for the slower services, add a coach to the 314 for a 315 as part of the pack for Shenfield stoppers and then add a Class 312 as an additional piece of rolling stock later on (a la WCML and the 86).

Plus, the 321s could be repurposed as either 320s for Cathcart Circle and Glasgow to Edinburgh. The 312 could be used further down the WCML for a backdated version of Euston to Milton Keynes with 86s, 87s and 313s. The later 360s have only appeared on Heathrow Express (which wouldn't go to Heathrow) and if there was a modern MML from St.Pancras to Bedford.

The blue sky one between them is the main poster / image for the WCMLS Route from last year. Another looks like a US loco. Not sure about the rest though!

I agree that endless GWR “cucumbers” lol would get old pretty quick, for the same reason as ECML without 91’s.

The blue one is San Bernardino Line. The dark one is the US pack: Acela + NYT Route.
    Just nothing to see there.

Im all for taking a core UK route away from rivet and giving it to JT. At least we’ll get guaranteed quality and actually some ai traffic coming the other way.

I think the recovering the GWR license is not such a big deal as it once was now all UK passenger operators are being nationalised anyway and all equally within the foreseeable future. For that reason I think SWR is in with a decent shout. Some have said Waterloo wouldn’t look busy enough - why not? Presuming it would come with the 450 or 455, the latter most likely as the dlc train because it will sell like hotcakes, and the in game 158 could happy represent their 159’s. Enough types for a busy terminus.
The other advantage would be bringing much needed life to Clapham Jct where the MildMay 378’s could also be bolted on whilst they are tinkering.

SW is a good shout, I think we'd see a 159/444/450/701 combo though as much as I'd love a 455.
I assume the Timetable would include plenty of ECS test runs for the 701 and a couple of scenarios based on a software failure.

I remember hearing that they plan routes a year in advance, and SWR only became nationalised in May, and I imagine they plan routes in which they are guaranteed the licence. That is unless they set it in the SWT era which would be spectacular, but I can't really see it because SWT stopped in 2017 which is 8 years ago now and right now DTG only really make content set no earlier than present day. That said, the roadmap article said "expect the unexpected", so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Did the 90s ever work with the ONE DBSOs? I thought that the 86s and Mark 2s were directly replaced by the Class 90s and Mark 3s cascaded from Virgin.

Yes, the DBSOs outlived the Class 86s and were finally withdrawn in 2006, one of them even managed to get itself repainted in the hideous "One" livery. The 90s ran with Mk2s and Mk3 for a while. It was a very gradual transition, starting with the removal of the Mk1 buffet cars around 1998/99.

I don't think a DVT ever run with a Class 86 for Anglia though. Well, I never saw one.

4th in a row Southern CA route? This will be too much even for DTG.

well, California is one of the better covered parts of US when it comes to rail, especially passenger rail infrastructure, so why not :)

if the route and locos/units are nice to drive, I dont really care what part of US they do :D ... and I am more into passenger stuff, so that leaves mostly the coastal areas as the most viable ones, I guess? :) ... whatever may be the case, I am curious as to what they will pick for US content for TSW6 - if I was to take a wild guess, it will be more MBTA content probably, as they seemed to be very happy with their previous visit (plus the recent new timetable for Boston Providence with HSP46)

I could go on and on about how important Chicago is for TSW, how much more could be done at NEC and in the surrounding area, and how much I would like to see the Sounder and Cascades on the route from Seattle. But I'll just join those who want to see Miami and/or Hudson. Because all these years have shown that DTG will still do something according to their own considerations, and not according to our requests. I just lost hope.
About California, let's say we won’t see Surfliner, Caltrain or San Joaquin. Even with LA - San Bernardino they gave us not the one we dreamed of.
Oh, DTG, I've got an idea, give us LA - San Bernardino, but this time the interesting one.

MML st pancras to bedford would be a good shout although id like it if it went to leicester to fill the missing link that never came around in TSC.

that said for a loco pack like the pendo was an extra, i can see the voyager being in the main release as an extra loco pack. now they have the avanti and XC licence plus skyhook and JT have had a licence (I believe) for EMR in both there products in TSW and TSC it would be a good move when you consider what would Layer on too if done in all 3/4 liveries. also the 170 in EMR would also provide additional layers on a number of routes.

if the new all aboard route from crewe was NWC then the avanti voyagers would fit on there, bit of forward thinking not just for an initial release.

I would 100% pay for the route again if we got an extension to Hastings, even better Ashford International for a decent route hop.

I'm thinking something like this for the United States New Jersey Transit Raritan Valley Line for those that wanted Electro diesel action in fact there is a parallel freight line to it from Bound Brook too Aldene Junction playable if you own and have Cajon Pass Horseshoe Curve Sherman Hill and Sand Patch Grade owned.
Germany I'm guessing Riesa-Chemnitz or International Duisburg-Oberhausen-Arnhem Utrecht via Zevenaar 156km
    United Kingdom Calder Valley Line.

Not so much a prediction but more a wishlist...

It would be nice if TSW6 had :

    1) Optional random events. Something that makes a route run slightly different every time. Delays and signals changing the way a route plays.

    2) Something to commemorate 200 years of railways and how Britain was at the heart of this world changing technology. Maybe some iconic historical locos... like Mallard and/or a Class 55 Deltic !

    3) A route including the stunning coastal scenery at Dawlish and Teignmouth would be a dream come true.

    4) Update to formation builder to make it easier to use. Details visible to describe what the various available options actually are and look like before adding it to the formation.

If any of these arrive with TSW6 I will be delirious with joy and if they don't then I will wait patiently and hold out hope that they maybe in TSW7 !

Mallard hasn't ran since the 80s, and stream is dead is tsw basically. A Deltic is overdue, though. Either as a rail tour loco (honestly the ECML Diesel Railtours pack should've been one), a "Deisel Legends Legends of the East Coast" pack, or another ECML section backdated

Going to guess that the GWR licence kills the chance of a class 50 appearing anywhere as they ran on lines that would now probably be produced in the current era to use that licence. Real shame as the 50 is a real fan fave with nearly 40% of them preserved in some way shape or form (18 out of 50).

Would be an instant buy for so many (along with a Deltic!)

Suddenly it may turn out that this year all 3 routes may be British (due to Rail 200)

An A4 is unlikely for obvious reasons, but a Class 55 would be pretty horrendous because of TSW's sound limitations. It would butcher the way it sounds, which is a massive part of its appeal.
Not going to happen. I reckon there may be a little bit of Rail 200 integration, but making three British routes would remove the appeal of TSW6 for the majority of people outside of the UK.

I can see a "rail 200" pack of livalries as a deluxe edition add on, then sold separately a month later

Well, they did say expect the unexpected. I dare say our German and US chums would be rather annoyed about it though.

Anyway, 3 UK routes. One each from Eastern, Southern and Western to make up for the huge number of London Midland routes we've had over the last few years.

I would agree with the above in terms of Eastern is long overdue representation.

Endless northern routes recently (not saying they are not good) and nothing from the eastern region in the traditional sense depending on views on what constitutes eastern region.

    Because of the following...

    -US freight doesn't sell well
-US freight wasn't done well enough to appease the critics
-DTG doesn't have access to US freight equipment to bring them up to par as the commuter stuff.

For me (and it may be my East Anglian bias) but I actually see anything north of the Humber as being North Eastern Region even though NER was absorbed into the Eastern Region in the 60s. I count the LTS as Eastern too as it transferred from LMR in 1949.

For a UK route, I suspect JT will produce ECML with Deltic. It is very high on wishlists and would have general interest to all UK railfans. Not sure if this will be a launch route, but definitely an early release with big promotion. Doncaster to Newcastle would make sense - parallels the WCMLOS journey and covers the iconic York station. I would particularly love it if it extended to Leeds from York and Doncaster to add some more route options. Potentially could cover some of the other North-Eastern cities such as Sunderland.

Dawlish etc for a modern route makes sense, would also be a perfect route if they ever implemented a time-shift setting, offering the same route in different eras with iconic 1960s diesels and classic 1990s HST and 47 hauled XC services.

If we are doing a wishlist - for a US route, I would love to see something completely out of the park - a 1980s NYC subway route, with trains and trackside completely covered in grafitti and vintage New York skylines. I think it would be of great interest to rail fans and New York enthusiasts too and with a reasonable entry cost, could well help to promote the game to new markets.
