Yes indeed. We'll have to wait until the fall, unfortunately, but it ought to be an immediate TSW6 release, preferably part of the launch party.

Let’s not rush Liam by forcing this remaster to release alongside TSW 6’s launch.

There are two immediate reasons why I think we should be patient:
    • Let the remaster come out in its own time, when it’s ready. Slow and steady wins the race.
    • GWE deserves its own recognition. The ‘hype’ will be very much saturated if it releases alongside new TSW 6 route releases.

I know a lot you are desperate to get your hands on it (including me!) but I think a little bit more patience is needed in what will ultimately be a fantastic product upon release.

I suspect this will be DTG’s own thinking, particularly if the TSW6 core routes and associated train DLC turn out to be… uninspiring. They are not going to want their flagship launch overshadowed by something that more than likely betters it!

What would be interesting would be if TSW6 launched with a new route starting at Reading and heading West.
Releasing the GWE Remaster at the same time, with route hopping between the two at Reading, would then make perfect sense.

Quite, it would be nice and a logical continuation/expansion

Let's just hope Liam doesn't get pulled into fixing a broken launch route. Again.

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed none of the launch routes are broken - but I have to say, if they are broken Liam has demonstrated he can do a remarkable job at fixing them - so if one is broken, ig this may be what it takes haha

From what Matt let slip in another thread (the TSW6 PS5 disk version one), seems none of the routes are remotely near ready, which is a bit worrying really with release likely just over two months away. So at this stage, I would imagine anyone at DTG with the slightest bit of route building or 3D modelling savvy is working 12 hour days to get this stuff done, including probably Liam. Which doesn’t leave much enthusiasm to work on similar stuff in your spare time.

Come on OldVern, you aren’t blind to how game development works - it’s always against the clock and with large swathes still to do weeks before release (the release date having been penned in by the bean counters before dev time/effort even gets estimated). Why do you appear surprised?

Not surprised but it probably means not much else is getting done in the way of patches or fixes for the existing content until they can clear the decks! Also guess it helps to look at the timescale from the perspective of the work being (presumably) full time operatives as opposed to doing a bit of route building in an hour or two of spare time a day.

The way I read the roadmap, we’ve had the last core TSW5 patch now and further performance fixes are being rolled into TSW6 (when they actually arrive, launch or later, is a valid question, given perf was touted as a named feature in the Roadmap for 6).

The last major DTG release was Frankfurt if I’m not wrong, and that’s had some fast follow patching already, so definitely no more route patching from DTG this side of October. We might still get a third-party patch or two for TSW5, I’d guess, as QA will possibly be twiddling their thumbs until Dev has something of 6 to give them, which sounds like not yet if none of the content is nearly done.

I think it was said in times of yore by DTG that they typically take 3-4 months to build a route, and of course they will have multiple routes on the boil at once. This would make sense as things tend to go quiet around May/June, and TSW is usually a September release

Rewind to last year and we got a route with TSW5 that was no way ready to be launched. Fast forward to this year and it loojs luke the same thing could happen? Not to mention TSW5 isn't even fixed, DTG are bring out a newer version if an unfixed game and TSW6 is going to be fixed? No pre order or first day release purchase for me I think, 6 months in and see how it goes before even considering purchasing.

They have said no more fixes are coming for TSW5 in the roadmap.

And unless you are planning on selling a physical copy the same day as release there is no need to be ready months ahead anymore. You can work on it right up to release date now.

Same for TSW Rush Hour release. It was a staggard release because the routes were not all done, plus they cut the branches off the Dresden route (The communty backlash made them re add the Meissen branch at a later date. But it was released one route in August, one in September and one in October.

When TSW 3 released TSW2 was not fixed, when TSW4 came out TSW3 was not fixed, When TSW 5 came out TSW4 was not fixed either.

So catch the trend. Once the new one comes out support is dropped.

Been this way for years and its not going to change unfortunately.

I'm sure the roadmap actually showed a section where a core issue update is due to be released for TSW5 before TSW6s release, and further more on Junes Roadmap we were told an update for 'early July' was meant to happen. I've no idea what's happened to that though!

    Actually it states.

The next major improvements towards performance will come alongside the release of Train Sim World 6 and beyond, which you will be able to access at no additional cost via the Free Starter Pack, and our teams are looking at addressing blurry textures and visual quality as a key focus, now that core stability has improved.

So no just patches for content but not core.

Hmmm, it does say 'core: additional improvements' on the TSW5 section that still haven't been implemented as far as I know.

But the article states what I copied from it. So it contadicts each other.

It shows that on the graphic and the full Update statement says that there not coming until TSW6.

Yeah you are right, there does seem to be a contradiction on DTGs end.

Hopefully the TSW6 improvements will be worth the wait as we will have to wait until around mid September for them to reach the players.

Yeah, TSW isn't getting fixed before the launch, it isn't fix during the launch nor is it fixed during the year and then it comes to the next version of TSW and we arrive still with a load of problems that haven't being fixed. Rinse and repeat.
