Any updates on the licensing status for the Siemens Desiro HC? I know many players have suggested it in connection with the RRX services in Germany, and it's a highly requested unit. Has Dovetail ever commented officially on the possibility of bringing it into TSW as a playable train? Or is licensing still preventing it?
Like a lot of Train requests, no not really. That being said, they don't even need to necessarily go through RRX to add the Desiro HC because DB has their own sets.
Yeah, true – but if it’s all just DB stock, it gets kinda boring. I’d love to see something different like Abelio or ODEG. Personally, RRX is my favorite train and operator – the cab is easily the best, and they have multiple lines that could be added to the game
Though the DB trainsets look very differently. Not only normal stuff like exterior livery and interior textures. But also the cab of the DB variant is a completely different one. That being said, i'd still be okay with a "fictional" DB Desiro HC on a route where it should actually have the RRX branding. In case it's the only way to get a Desiro HC into the game.
Actually, all the Derio-HC versions are good, but everyone has their own preferences. We can keep wishing for RRX endlessly, but even if it doesn't happen, I'd still be happy to see the other versions in the game. But if everything ends up being DB stock, isn't that going to get a bit boring? Anyway, we'll see if RRX finally makes it in — its cab is the best. Of course, the ODEG and DB cabs are also good, but they're just not quite like RRX
Not for me at least. I'd rather have a completely new train in DB colors than no new train (*cough* Mannheim-Kaiserslautern). Having always the same old trains and nothing new to drive is when it gets boring.
You're absolutely right, but my point is just that there are so many other operators in Germany besides DB. DB is totally cool, but I think it’d add a lot of variety to have stuff from RRX, Abellio, ODEG and the like too. That said, I’d honestly be super happy even with just the DB-branded Desiro HC — even if it’s not the RRX version I personally dream of. I’ve been waiting for that train for ages, and I’ve actually visited Germany a bunch of times just because I really enjoy riding those trains in real life A proper RE route with the Desiro HC would be amazing for TSW — something like 90 to 120 at least km would be awesome to get that real regional express vibe. If anyone knows more exactly where DB Regio runs the Desiro HC or has a cool route idea, feel free to share! Would love to hear some suggestions
