As we've seen the CrossCountry license in the class 170, why not complete the set with the 221? The Class 221 is a tilting DMU, capable of 125mph, used formerly by Avanti West Coast, and presently by CrossCountry (XC) and Grand Central. Crosscountry operates services all over the UK, and could layer into many routes; Fife Circle, Edinburgh-Markinch Manchester Airport Commuter, Manchester-Wilmslow Midland Main Line, Leicester to Derby and Nottingham It could also layer as an AI in others like Birmingham City and Peterborough-Doncaster It could even come alongside another route in the south east, or even another ECML pack, say York-Newcastle
This would certainly be the jewel in the crown and still wouldn’t be surprised if we get a route in TSW6 where these operate, it could well be the bonus UK train DLC for the Deluxe Pack. Love them or hate them (and TBH if not crowded they are quite nice to travel on) they are pretty much an essential part of the UK rail scene, all over the country. And with the base model in place would not be too hard for SHG to run a conversion to put 222’s on their MML route.
I can actually see these being a TSW6 Deluxe edition feature. Plus, these things could run on WCML South.
If they do a 221, I’d hope it comes with a 220 too in the pack. seeing the avanti 221s and EMR/EMT 222s in the pack would be good too, if it wasn’t much different (other than livery/interior of course)
Exactly, the 220 has to come with the 221, meridians would add more gameplay to MML (but still needs an extension). Voyager is just needed at this point in the game (same with 91 and DVTs etc)
