As England is getting renationalised could this help DGT make more uk routes in the future?
As they only need one license Department of transport

London Waterloo to weymouth Route SWR is now nationalised
Could we see London Fenchurch Street to Southend with C2C now nationalised
Could we London Liverpool Street to Norwich as greater Angler are going to be renationalised on the 12 of October 2025
All other train operators will be renaturalised in 2027
I would like to see Scotland routes as they have already been nationalised
I would like to more Welsh routes maybe north Wales as are nationalised

It would be nice to see the Great British railways GBR logo in TSW

I would like to see a new countrys in the game Italy. Spain Belgium
I would like to see more French routes from Paris to London would be very nice
To the Eurostar in game if dgt could get the license for it or if they can’t use the Ice train from Germany

Not gonna happen. Way to long, largely tunnels, repeats a section already in the game, eurostar won't license

As above, plus any suggestions really need to at least nod towards the DTG LAMPOIL process, if you’re trying to sell the idea.

And I still think people may be expecting too much from the renationalising of the UK network. The body responsible has its hands full with all the logistics of unifying the operations and sorting out the organisational structure including getting 1000’s of staff into the right jobs. Pandering to a train game developer is not going to be their highest priority. Old BR, at least in my experience, the senior management view of enthusiasts or rail fans was decidedly cool. In fact the advice given when attending any sort of job interview, was to play down any aspect that might make you come over as a rabid crank or gricer. Not saying that culture will return but it’s early days. Also bear in mind many staff and managers TUPE’d into their roles at GBR will be the same people who were doing that job as a private company. If they didn’t want to cooperate then, they won’t want to now.

I think you're conflating GBR with the Department for Transport there, Vern. Matt has previously said they've got a good relationship with the DfT, and it's the DfT who would ultimately be the ones dealing with licensing.

I'd tend to agree, my contact at Greater Anglia once said "Any good suggestions you have will be considered", it was after I suggested a coffee bar on the 10 car Aventras long before their internal design was finalised with Bombardier. He confirmed it was something they'd thought about as the original intention was to use them on all the commuter lines in the peaks and between the peaks on Cambridge, Clacton and Norwich services. Eventually the 10 car units were shelved, as were the plans to train Norwich drivers on the Aventras. Sadly, as was Plan B, to build 20 "airport" 720s and transfer the 745/1s to the GEML for Clacton/Ipswich/Norwich services.

I did also suggest they made more You Tube videos about the history of the towns and cities their trains serve as a way of increasing interest in East Anglia and leisure travel. Often the feeling I got from him was that it was difficult to impress their overlords if it wasn't a cheap idea that could bring an instant sizable profit.

Under new management, it will be hopefully be a blank canvas with a more long-term approach to PR and growing off-peak ridership.
