you can couple up to any trains like the electrostars, 700s however it won’t pull & 710s. The 350s won’t work I mean it won’t even couple. In other words the 37 drives into the 350 and even though it has the same couplers as the 387s 377s & 375s. It won’t couple Is it just me having this problem, if not please can you look into it.
Well IRL it would only be possible with a suitable adaptor coupling on the loco, or a translator/barrier vehicle. Most modern EMU’s and DMU’s are only designed to work in everyday use with a similar compatible unit.
The 710 irl has a button to put the units into recovery mode but this is not implemented in tsw. The 350 requires a bit of equipment that also isn't in tsw.
I remember from my Wales & West etc. days, the BSI coupler fitted 150’s, 155’s carried an adaptor coupling in case they ever needed to be loco assisted. As this happened so rarely, eventually they were taken off the sets and kept at key locations, particularly as a fitter was required to oversee the process. And once coupled up, the formation was limited to a maximum speed of 10 MPH, so essentially just to clear the line. Which is why, unless there was a chance of the fault transferring through the electrical connections, you assisted a failed Sprinter with another Sprinter.
Well, That’s why I have put a suggestion for barrier vehicles (Mk1s Mk2s & TEA wagons) RailAdventure would also be a good add-on if they have the licensing
As vern pointed out, some sets can only be recovered with another set thats the same. Like the 710, would normally be recovered with another 710 set. In some cases where a loco would be used, is only to move them off the mainline at restricted speed like 10mph. The rog 37 was specifically adapted to move electostars I believe. Maybe they have had software updates to be able to talk to different sets since then but it's not something that's implemented in tsw at present. I've come across the same sort of problem on TSC where iRL you can hook a class 73 to the back of a 4cep unit and drive the 4cep in push pull configuration. Yet in TSC it doesn't work. It's just not scripted to do that.
