Looking at the trademarks site, I notice there is also another newer trademark also in the works “Train Sim Club” (in status Pre-publication) dated 14 July 2025.

Now that does have something of a multiplayer ring about it.

Why is that giving me the feeling that we are going to get a subscription service like train simulator for train sim world 6 As the name reminds me of that Hornby Collector's club or whatever it's called. Which I hope we don't get as one for console players like myself, having accessing to a ton of free routes would use up all my Xbox hard drive space. Two I don't think it's appropriate within the current cost of living crisis as DTG will up the price if it's not profitable for them and currently for Train sim it costs 16.99 AUD per month for a limited amount of dlc which isn't worth it. If at the end of the year I'm paying way more than I yearly spend on discounted routes which aren't usually holy grail level of quality (Except WCMLOS). When for many there are more important things people have to pay for,

So a multiplayer subscription service... which would be the way to fund any sort of server set up to support it.

I've just started dipping into Car Mechanic Sim, and it occurs to me that a train mechanic sim that let us work on this large variety of international rolling stock would be fun. And since DTG already has everything implemented in detail for TSW, they'd (presumably) have a large head start in adapting it for a workshop setting.

I love how every one is assuming its going to be train related.

Watch it be a new board game like Catan was or a new Fishing Simulator like they had before.

Just because its produced DTG does not mean it will be train related.

Kind of agree, though what I expect is that it will be "Train related", but not "Train sim related", look at the Roblox game with the TSW name attached to it, very different game, but same brand name. Honestly I can envision "Metro Rivals" being something like a multiplayer version of Mini Metro, compete with another player to build the best metro in 30 minutes, something like that. A entirely different game that just has trains in it is far more in line with what we'll actually get in my mind.

This whole thought of them doing "Train sim, but catering to different content" just doesn't hold water when the point of both of DTG's train sims is that they're supposed to not be locked down to one type or era of content like Run 8 or Zusi. The idea that you can own New Zealand diesels, American steamers, and French electrics all in the same game has been the single major advantage it over other titles. Anything that fractures that actively hurts the appeal of these titles. If certain eras or types of routes are segregated into their own games at that point you might as well own a different simulator that do those dedicated things better anyways.

For that matter I think it has to be said multiplayer has the same problem, even if it could be easier to justify as its own thing given all the extra work it would inevitably put into it. Thing is multiplayer games need pretty strong player-bases to justify server costs, and adding the hurtle that nobody into TSW currently is gonna have access to the multiplayer title greatly increase the chances that "Train Sim Multiplayer" isn't gonna meet those targets. Honestly as much effort as it would take it still probably make way more sense to do multiplayer as a part of the TSW core package for that reason. At least then some chunk of the existing player base will check it out and get hooked on it if they have instant access to it.

Have already postulated it could be a golf game, a genre that sadly seems to have fallen by the wayside of late. However if so it absolutely must have the traditional three click system, absolutely hated the mouse sliding approach of titles like TGC.

I would hope it’s not a subscription/battle pass model. If it is a paying for multiplayer model I am fine with that, it’s something that doesn’t interest me at all

I think "Train Sim Club" is some sort of subscription model like TSC now has

Well I can say for certain that I'm not paying for any sort of subscription.

Subscription would work for me, as I'd save money.
Save money as in "they can stick that, I'm off to play something else!" :D
