A great loco add-on for the Cross City Line and WCML South would be the class 730 to run alongside the class 323's and 350's. This would give extra versatility to both routes, and it would be great to get some extra Aventras alongside the Class 710.

We are unlikely to get it as a loco dlc for cross city any time soon due to the soon to be released 170 loco add on for it and its a completely diferent time to which the route is set as the 730s replaced the 323s they wouldnt run alongsode eachover. There is a chance the 5 car lnwr 730 could be brought to wcml however unlikely due to licencing and performance issues with that route. Although I do quite like the 730s

Has the route changed much since the era it was set in? If not, I'd say that there wouldn't be a problem adding a 730/1 layer to it.
It would certainly make sense to make both the 730/1 and /2 for a pack, especially as both versions have served on the WCML south section.

These are my thoughts exactly, especially after the class 385 was layered onto Cathcart Circle in spite of the fact that the route was set in 2014, before the units were ever built. Between 2023-2024 there is evidence which shows that class 730's and 323's did run alongside each other on the Cross City Line.

That would make an excellent Timetable for Cross-City during the short period that both types operated.
It was a surprising quick transition period when compared to most other new rolling stock introductions. WM must have done a fantastic job of getting crews trained.
