Even if it is "only" a cost issue, that doesn't make it less of a limitation if the relevant publisher doesn't wanna make that investment.

Bigger issue as noted above is MS/Sony won't allow scripting and i don't see that ever changing.

I'm not talking about though, that what I was alluding to when I said in the prior post-
What I'm talking about is excluding things like importing new 3D models or making scripts. You don't need to create new assets to make routes in MSTS, Trainz, or TSC, I did a lot of my routes as a kid without even touching the download station. There really isn't any reason any modern console game couldn't have similar capabilities.

But routes and TT add scripts and again consoles are closed systems and don't allow that.

The whole purpose of a console is a money making machine for MS and Sony and the game developers.

Yes, in Train Sim World, timetables are built using a visual scripting system within the game's editor, specifically using UE4's visual scripting. This system allows players to create and manage the schedules for trains, including arrival and departure times at various locations, as well as other tasks like loading and unloading.

That is why consoles can't have mods.

To add even more, Microsoft has actively taken down any way to bypass, like there was a way for minecraft mods on console but that was taken down. Same thing would happen to anything else trying to use unofficial mods on console,

    (sorry if this poorly worded)

Hence why I stick to using a PC. For the same reason that I buy all of my music, films and books in their physical form and refuse all subscription services. Frankly, I don't even like buying games on Steam but at least those games have a tangible form by way of actual files on an actual hard drive that's in my house.

The big corporations want nothing more than your loyalty so they can keep making a huge profit out of you and they'll do whatever they can to force you to not have any control over their products. Resist. Be old-fashioned like me and take back control of your lives.

From the DTG list, I would like to hope any of the following...

    Tees Valley Line
    Northern Transpennine
    East Coastway

    And from Rivet options...

West Cornwall Local (possibly with a Valenta HST)

All are in exceptional need of updates.

How about a Class 104 for a little route known as Peak Forest Railway :)

Do you know what. If DTG pulled that one out of the hat, added a green CL45 and CL101 and also built a green CL25 then there are many of us that would pay full route package price for that.

Hopefully at least one will be German/Austrian:

    HRR needs ICE1, 3, ICE-T, DMUs
RRO the same plus IC and 442
    MSB the same
HMA the same plus OBB IC
    Vorarlberg needs OBB IC

If it follows the pattern of the Cross-city addon of coming with a modified train, then IC2 would make the most sense. Maybe TRI n-wagen if they can get the licence. Plus maybe an OBB IC first class coach and/or other variants of the DB and OEBB IC coaches.

One would hope that Rivet revisit Edinburgh to Glasgow and give it an extensive overhaul and update... It has all the ingredients to be a great route, but let down completely by the implementation of pretty much everything, from the timetable, to sounds, and overall emptiness of the route (Well, if you own the Skyhook 158 it does beef things out a bit, but the original timetable is pretty empty an abysmal).

I reckon they will do. Which means I'd better get my modded scenarios out sooner rather than later.
(Mind you, again, they will only demonstrate what would have always been possible had DTG / Rivet not decided to let things slide).

Hint - Look at the Edinburgh 2 Glasgow link in my signature.

In fairness to the original timetable, it used everything it could at the point it released, just a lot more Scotrail came along subsequently.

Personally I'm hoping for a Scotrail HST for Fife Circle and Edinburgh-Glasgow. We have the mod of course which is nice, but a DLC would be able to properly implement the modern sliding doors and changes to the interior.
