Have you used the AP track enhancement pack in this photo? If you have you will have to take down the screenshot as that is third party.

Sometimes when you're deep into a frenetic train simulation session it's nice to just sit back, enjoy some café culture, and watch the trains go by. Strawberry time anyone?

Relax and watch a BR 111 glide into Konstanz Station on the Konstanz-Villingen route.

Nice screenshot, but the Class 153 isn't allowed in the screenshot contest because it isn't available on Steam.

    Meeper5, congrats on the win!

But maybe change it up a little in the newer screenshot contests TrainSim-Dmitri ?
The last 3 weeks (including this week) are only American screenshots hardly seen any Austrian (ÖBB), German (DB) or not even a Japanese or France or China screenshot, in the last few months.

I find American stuff worth the while to drive, especially the passenger stuff, but as there was a complaint before that not much American screenshots were in the loading screens (mind that 4 places are available, 3 of them are now American stuff), the same happens now with other countries.

I know this post will attract down votes, mostly the American side.
But let base it on fact if you look in the archive of the last 3 months.

9 screenshots of American content, 1 Austrian and 4 United Kingdom ones.

In the past there were complaints about specific country themes as people don't have content from said country.
But there are people who do and hardly win or even participate because of the low change to win a specific country theme.
Maybe try continents? Rotate them around so that each week a different country/continent is shown in the screenshot.

Well, at one point I remember people complaining about too much German stuff, although in all fairness we do not choose screenshots based on countries, instead, we focus on the quality of the screenshot and the upvotes that it has. I haven't actually paid a single bit of attention to which country is featured in the winning screen in a long time, so I didn't notice any trends. But we could run some country-focused themes, if necessary.

Still Meeper5, still the USA, it seems that to participate with a chance of success you must have a good community able to bring a lot of "upvote" ...

That isn't usually true. I've been flooded with upvotes on my entries but lost to (albeit good) screenshots that had very few upvotes sometimes. I think the mods choose who wins, not the other users.

Or get your family and friends to vote for you or have multiple posting IDs and vote for yourself, which was a bad practice from the past that made DTG publicly discontinue judging on the basis of the votes received, but somehow it seems to be creeping back looking at Dmitri's comments over the last three weeks. This unofficial judging on the basis of votes seems to me a bad idea as it opens the whole process up to the previous problems and now makes it even more biased in favour of contributors who post early in the week as late ones simply won't have the opportunity to collect votes, irrespective of their screenshot's merit.

The other problem with vote based judging is that since this is an English language board it inevitably means that there will be less continental Europe or rest of world engagement, and favour a high proportion of North American and to a lesser extent UK players. It seems to me that people tend to vote for territories that interest them, not artistic merit or relevance to the set subject, which kind of undermines the process.

So come on Dmitri, please come clean, is this competition vote based or not? If it is vote based then structure it to support that process, if it's not vote based then clearly say so. There seem to be an increasing number of people questioning what's going on here and if its not clear what's happening people will drift away. I think that would be a shame.
