Schnauz checks this mod out. Very nicely done for the Oakville Sub.

Installed the mod today. It started!!!! This is just great, this locomotive perfectly complements the Oakville fleet. Thanks a lot to the author of the mod. I can't wait for the return of the MP15 to Sand Patch Grade.

Too bad it's on the Oakvill Sub DLC.

Where else would it go? Oakville is the only Canadian route we’ve got… :)

Could have been put in a BNSF or UP skin, and placed on any number of routes in the game.

This community never fails to amaze me - The Canadian National SW1500 is not just a "mere" reskin but a passion project completed by a single individual that has basically rebuilt the Caltran MP15 to the CN SW1500 - new sounds - new horn - even the window frames are pitted with rust. Not only has he rebuilt this locomotive, but has provided a time table for the Oakdale Subdivision so we can easily enjoy the great addtion and all for free. From my little bit of research, this individual has been working on the modification for a little over two years and instead of showing a modicum of gratitude - we get a comment it should have been for a different line. geez.

For those who want a classic North American Switcher - I would highly recommend this great modificaton. It gives a good incentive to keep TSW5 after TSW6 is released to drive this little beauty.

Thank you TheShotte for your hard work and willingness to share your efforts with the community.

A switcher has more uses on Oakville being a heavily industrialized route over most BNSF and UP lines in game, where everything is spread farther out away from yards.

One thing I will applaud with the mod is how it is an actual great conversion of the Caltrain MP15DC to a CN SW1500, not a simple reskin. Something ALOT of US stock in game could potentially have happen to them....

(Should of course the models are all possible to modify proper, like the AC44 to a Dash-9, or the GP38-2 to a GP40-2, or the ES44C4 to ES44AC's)

At this point being maybe 90% modified... why not just make it a full on DLC on its own? Maybe it's just too much hassle for the single person developer to deal with DTG, but it's sad that such a nice mod will disappear as the Peninsula fades into history.
So much work in vested and the SW1500 is so nice.

Although to be fair, I think even the base MP15 in some flavor (DC, AC, etc) would be saveable by DTG who already have it and could simply reskin it for use on any number of other US railroads. (CSX I know have a few and had a bunch, Union Pacific too, etc)
Then the mod would continue to work and DTG would have something to sell, albeit reskinned in those liveries in a pack.

    Update:
I posted this in the Suggestion Thread.
    Feel free to comment =-)

Where did I say this mod was a simple reskin? What I said was he could have put a BNSF or UP skin on his mod, and placed it on more routes.

Ok great … but a little praise before stating what you think the developer could’ve done would have been a bit more sociable.

“Could have been put in a BNSF or UP skin, and placed on any number of routes in the game.” Is a bit terse and does not convey any appreciation for the developers efforts. Anyway, now we understand what you were trying to say…

    This.

And we wonder why so few people want to develop content, or opt to do payware where at least they know there will be a financial reward to offset unfair criticism.

However it’s not just train sims. I recently downloaded an absolutely superb map mod for Farming Sim 25 (Saxlingham). Totally free and the creator put over 800 hours of work into the project including many custom buildings. I couldn’t believe watching a YT overview of the map to learn that a handful of ungrateful idiots had been criticising it, to the point the creator nearly abandoned his work and tossed it in the recycle bin. Thankfully he didn’t and can now enjoy the fruits of his labour.

It's sad we don't give community creators more credit.. or devs for that matter. It's rarely "good job" but more often "why not this and this and this and this?" More demands, not appreciation for what is accomplished. Especially when it's often a single person on a passion project.
