PS5 I don't know if it's a bug or if it's just seasonal, but I don't usually see traffic to Belmont Park, I mean AI, and the train times aren't even displayed in the 2D map at the stations. When I manually start a service as a player, for example from Belmont Park to NY Penn, the times of other trains suddenly start appearing in the 2D map ..... that's quite strange .... And similarly, I haven't seen anything in Long Island City yet.
belmont park is seasonal . don't have the exact dates but I think is sometime in the spring. As far as LIC there's only 4 M9 service that goes there. in the am it then empty moves to Jamaica and the other in afternoon from Jamaica the departs to Ronk I think. I reality LIC is used by the diesel fleet
Thank You. It's a shame that the layer from NEC NY-Trenton only gives static AI, but it would probably be too demanding for the operation on NY Penn. I don't have the Acela Add-on yet. At least I didn't find any AI driving a classic train on the map..... all just M3, M7 and M9
Part of me wonders if the next expert loco will be the Acela II, with realistic loss of pantograph connection :P
Or, if you on PC, you can install the substitution mod https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/mods/c3-train-sim-world/c19-patches/i3329-nyt-small-patches
But I looked, there are also a lot of layers with freight transport .... it's a shame that the new LIRR can't use it as an alternative, I'm on PS5, so the mod management is not in my thoughts
That's strange, why is that, do you know? In order for the Acela add-on to work, is it necessary to have the Boston-Providence map?
In TSW you don't get Gibson, but in real life you do. Im TSW kommt man nicht Gibson, im realen leben schon.
PS5 Two things at NY Penn, a collision with a steel structure between Track 19 and Track 20 and then on the West Yard Siding Track 30 at the entrance to the tunnel, a collision with a steel structure column
I mentioned on the Morristown this items was previously captured and remains open on the Jira system.
Because either (a) the LIRR double-stacks trains there and you have to leave room, or (b) you don't want passenger doors beyond the platform
Finally got a chance to pick this up. I noticed a layer for "October" services, but I haven't been able to find out anything about it. Does anyone know if this was actually implemented, or is it just a placeholder for something that is not in the game? If it is real, what services are the "October" ones? Tried searching for this but came up empty.
OK I was able to get the information from Joe. "It's the ghost train that goes to the disused station in the tunnel. October because spooky. Here's the times you can see it at each station it goes by "I think I told it not to spawn an engineer too so its proper spooky" "Not sure which type of train it is". is AI only. hope this information helps. Enjoy
Whoa! And here I was thinking that it was some sort of fall foliage extra or something. Thanks for finding out!
M7 is still undrivable in slippery conditions. When the automatic brake(by signal speed restriction) is activated, begins wheel slipping, which for some reason always causes the emergency brake to be activated, which increases wheel slip to rediciolus level. As a result player just sits and smiles in the cab of a train that they cannot control. I've been reporting this since the day of release. But you don't give a LOVE. Reduce the intensity of the wheel slipping or fix the system logic so that it does not activate emergency braking.
Seems like LIRR has been abandoned again. I reported lots of issues as well. But no fixes. Am pretty sure the trains were supposed to get suspension upgrades.
I know it's a bit off-topic. But can someone explain to me for what purposes do they drag this metroliner cabcar? It's around Jamaica area.
But I asked which service, and what time, could I see this. I've traveled this route quite a bit, but I've never seen this track-measuring train.
The MTA MP15AC is the giveaway. Would be nice to see this added to TSW sometime though. Could provide some nice additional services, a la the RHTT pack for UK railways. (Could even do an international multipack deal with trains like the Flying Banana, and whatever DB use for track measurements) I bet DTG could capitalise on it with licensors as promoting the effort these railways put in to ensuring strict safety and quality standards.
So it has been 2 years and this route still has the issue with the shiny track ballast. Also it still doesn't have suspension physics nor improved track shadows, both of which were already classified as "core features" by the time this route released. Neither conductor mode, which is really funny, considering this route it used as the image for conductor mode. Will we have to wait for a third LIRR re-release to get an actually good and enjoyable LIRR experience?
Probably. It's extremely rare that an addon of this age is ever revisited for anything more than minimal patches. I can't speak for track shadows but suspension physics which would require a partial rework of the train's simugraph setup are almost guaranteed to never happen at this stage.
Sure, unless they are british add-ons, which constantly get free remasters with all the new standard features and frequently updating old affected rolling stock as well.
"Constantly" meaning three times in the last year and a half? Before throwing that around you have to understand where those remasters come from. They were free because they were passion projects, from members of a very much British company. A passion project is naturally going to be driven by what is local or personally special to the person doing it, otherwise it wouldn't be a passion project at all right? Sure, two German routes have now been remastered "for free". The original Nahverker Dresden got remastered with the release of TSW3. It was free-ish, in the sense that you didn't have to buy the German edition of TSW3 to acquire it. You could buy the UK edition for example and if you already owned the TSW2 version of Nahverker Dresden, you could claim the remaster for free. But it was undoubtably funded by TSW3's development and even asides from that, it also likely saw funding from the Vectron loco pack made for it. Free or not, it wasn't a passion project, funding was very clearly a factor. More recently there was the remaster to Koln - Aachen, which was a passion project like the UK remasters. It was a passion project from Folezzworld - a German. You have to be very passionate about something to put that degree of work into it and expect nothing in return. Is anyone really going to be that passionate about a route that is halfway across the world which they have quite possibly never even been on or near in their life? To be clear, I'm not just flat out saying "DTG doesn't care about American routes". What I am saying is that there probably just isn't anyone in DTG able to do route development who is in a position to care about American routes in that way. There are no such American or American connected individuals in DTG or the third party field that we know of yet.
I think it's closer to DTG just don't really care about US stuff. No need to be overly polite about it. That being said, i'd take a passionate 3P consistently making quality US content (like something equivalent to JT or Firefly) over free stuff from DTG. Sadly right now we have neither lol
That is quite a lot of words for saying DTG simply doesn't care about US content. For me, as a customer, it does not matter where the company is located and where the remasters are coming from. A certain set of content simply gets much less attention and care than the other set of content. That's it. Just like you said, we got three UK remasters in a year and a half, while all the US is getting are paid routes where half is recycled from previous content. Trenton, Harlem Line and LIRR are all half made up of recycled content and despite that they are still sub par. And once again, LIRR isn't even getting the features that are supposed to be STANDARD. We aren't even getting the bare minimum with this route.
All I can say is third parties are on the rise, some of whom are actually US specialised. DTG have already shown that they are willing to allow 3rd party remasters, the GWE and ECW remasters were semi 3rd party and the Koln - Aachen remaster was fully 3rd party, so perhaps remasters are more possible than they previously were.
