Whenever I put on the AWS in the Class 47, when I go over the ramps on the line, nothing happens, even with red or yellow signals. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you pulled both left and right levers on the AWS control? It should buzz then until acknowledged.

I'm not entirely sure the AWS is activated by the signals on WSR I think it's more to warn of speed changes ahead.

Both levers? I've only ever seen one.

There's one on either end of the control. Here you go from the manual.

    If you want AWS
a/ On the back wall near the top, move the AWS isolation lever to unisolated
b/ On the back wall near the top, move the AWS cab changeover lever to activated.

Here's a link to the manual.

    Hope that helps. :)

Some routes (WSR and NTP) do not have a complete on-track AWS installation. They only have a few static speed warnings and the very occasional signal. This is because they are modeled on eras when safety systems were not yet common. You'll find that even most modern routes are missing a few of these track safety systems here and there, or odd implementations like the static speed aws alerts on GWE.

Thanks for the help, I'll try this when I next have a go on the game.

The Class 33 also needs it's AWS switching On - but it's a bit easier to reach bing just near the Offside Window
And obviously the ramps only work in one direction
