You're confusing scripting with code. Mods that modify code are not permitted, that much is true, however games that utilise a developer provided scripting model (I won't pretend to understand how this works as I'm not a developer or modder) are permitted, TF2 has a good amount of mods on PS5 that go well beyond just adding vehicles and static assets or maps - there are multiple addons that add for example highly configurable train stations, industries and entropy, all of which require scripting
Still no answer to the question though, what did anything you posted have to do with Unreal Engine? Answer: Nothing, try again eh
Okay then, maybe it's the fact that DTG will need to compile/cook PC built .pak files using their devkit in order for it to function on either Sony or Xbox hardware? It's not something the public can do and heck if I know what the process behind that is or how long it would take.
I don't know the specifics, but on the assumption UE uses .pak files on all platforms to store content regardless of game, and that the public editor can generate .pak files, then in theory DTG wouldn't have to do anything for mods uploaded. Putting aside moderation and approval, the mod platform would dictate in what format mods were uploaded, which following any vetting required would need no further platform specific (PC/PS/XB) alterations to be made There are exceptions to this on TF2 console edition, but I believe they had to be altered for trademarked liveries and the like; eg. there are a couple of BR era locos that have BR logos for the PC version of the mod, but these are removed for the console version of the mod; example here With regard to DTG cooking, I could be wrong but I don't believe they cook a seperate route or loco .pak for every platform except when they create a version with reduced timetables for console versions; they should be platform agnostic with only the core requiring platform specific code
And what do all these things about mods have to do with the Tsw6 wish list? Let's just drop this pointless pro and con mod debate, it only causes conflict between certain users.
I want a crossover between Train Sim Classic and TSW so I can bring some of the better trains from the former and play them in the latter. It's about as likely as me retiring before I'm 67 though.
Very minor, but I would love to see a map in the menu showing the routes you own on a world map and selecting a route to play from that screen. It would match in with the "world" part of the title
You might want to consider adding that to the Suggestions forum as a world map showing owned routes is an excellent idea.
I hope that the 66 in the core route comes with a different operators livery, the sea of DB red and EWS maroon (with the occasional DRS blue or ONE pink) is getting a bit boring.
If it is something west of Exeter, then there’s not much freight at all these days apart from engineering trains so probably more of the usual suspects.
I would like DTG to remove this TSW5 card and reinstate the card from TSW4. This card in TSW5 requires far too many resources.
I'd like to see the NEW banner disappear. There's literally no reason for it to appear for a route I have owned for a few years.
