What is the difference between the 805 and the other 80x we already have, in terms of driving ? Because for me they all look the same (do not take this sentence out of context ) and I don't really see the point of buying this DLC
It’s probably very similar to the 802 but the 802 & 805 both have proper diesel engines unlike the 801.
To drive, not too different. The real trains are quite different, with a new interior (that's much better than the DFT-specced interior on the 800s-802s) and different engines.
I think the 805 has better diesel engines than the lot of them. Also a completely different interior thanks to Avanti.
The 802 is also a bi mode unit, we will drive It in diesel mode, but we can also run in Electric whit free roam on other routes
It’s apparently set in 2019 which doesn’t fit with the introduction of 805s. Ideally, it would be nice to have the 730s as well to bring New Street up-to-date.
I think it’s basically a modified sub variant. But a welcome addition all the same. Might as well do the whole family. For me it’s going to be nice to drive the 800 series on new routes because I find the ECML as it is bland. For me no proper start or end point, it’s just kind of hanging in mid air.
I’m not an expert on the WCML but as I understand the 805 paths run fast through MKC as they’re usually on the North Wales services. So on that logic they’d only be AI trains.
I'd rather they made an all-new timetable from scratch for the WCML South, as there's still quite a few missing services in the original, and a lot of the 390's services destination is wrong, for example the destination boards saying "Birmingham" instead of "Birmingham New Street".
Confirmed in today's roadmap that the 805 DLC will come with an all-new 2025 WTT for WCMLS, as well as five scenarios made by Simtrack, also for WCMLS. This leaves the gates open for a potential Class 221 DLC down the line for Birmingham - Crewe or a slightly more backdated WCMLS timetable.
Also revealed on the roadmap as part of the new 2025 WTT for WCMLS is that there are over 2000 AI services & over 1000 playable services for the route, 27 of which are Class 805 services.
Since 805s are primarily for the North Wales Coast it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that maybe North wales coastal could be a future route??
This is great news. Hopefully it can layer the intermodal freight pack in too! My poor empty future wallet..
Holy moly, it’s going to be an expensive year buying TSW content for me. Still, got to expand that Avanti fleet
Also in the section on the 805 it mentions new sounds by SamT, if you want to get a sneak at what it could potentially sound like he’s already done a sound mod for the 80x fleet in TSC
In all honesty this will probably be a skip from me assuming there wouldn't be much of a difference in terms of driving compared to the "805" (in quotes) that came with the WCMLS EP, but I see it as a great opportunity for console players to get the full TT which is a positive!!! Looking forward to their route though.
