    Train Sim World 6 – Coming September 30th, 2025!

Here we go – let’s dive into everything revealed for Train Sim World 6!

Riviera Line: Exeter – Plymouth & Paignton
    [IMG]

Who’s ready for a trip across the Dawlish Sea Wall? Bathe in the beauty of the South Devon Main Line between Exeter St Davids across the Plymouth, featuring the picturesque Riviera Line branch to Paignton in this new route coming with Train Sim World 6!

Famous for the red-coloured cliffs, this scenic adventure brings us to Devon for the first time in TSW, with wonderful views that will keep you locked in Photo Mode for hours capturing the best screenshots possible.

And what’s that we spot on the camera? It looks like the return of the beloved GWR license! We’ve very proud to officially represent the trains included on the Riviera line in their GWR liveries, for both the new, dual-powered BR Class 802 and the Class 150.

Tranquil hills, cliffs and ocean waves are a perfect setting for a brand new challenge, as this line will feature steep gradients, sharp up/downhill banks and constant winding tracks throughout, keeping you on your toes across the mainline.

This route is packed with history, originally built in the 1840s by Isambard Kingdom Brunel as an atmospheric railway, and later transformed to standard traction – it’s significance to the region is paramount.

Back with the release of the Class 170 from Rivet Games, we brought the Cross Country livery to TSW! Of course, with this new brand, we had to bring in the…

Cross Country BR Class 220 Voyager (Deluxe Loco)

The wait is over – A massively famous sight across the UK, we’re finally welcoming in the Class 220 Voyager to your TSW collections!

Born to suit the growing needs of the longest and busiest services across the UK, the sleek BR Class 220 has travelled all across England and Scotland over the 20+ years of service it's had on the rails.

In Train Sim World 6, be a driver or conductor aboard busy CrossCountry services along the scenic Riviera Line. Accelerate out of Exeter and race by on express services to Plymouth, crest over the Devon Hills and hurry past the Dawlish Sea Wall.

Get ready for your own voyage across the UK with Free Roam, presenting many opportunities across a huge collection of UK routes available in TSW, being able to pick-up and bring the BR Class 220 Voyager on your journeys across the UK.

Morristown Line: New York & Hoboken - Dover
    [IMG]

Get ready for a meeting of two halves, from historic to present, bustling cityscapes to rural forests, or older EMUs to modern traction – the Morristown Line will offer a very unique driving experience.

From concrete walls to coniferous trees, dive into a lively route, starting at one of the busiest cities in the world, heading westbound across the Northeast Corridor, through the suburbs of the Morris & Essex county and onwards to Dover for a 40 mile adventure.

Get onboard with the new NJ TRANSIT® Arrow III EMU, an iconic statement of New Jersey’s commuter railroading scene, included with the Morristown Line route, which is an older unit built in the 70s, which features an antiquated control system – with no reverser, it’s either forwards or backwards, you’ll get a classic feel when driving.

Also included on the line is the NJ TRANSIT® ALP-46, a more modern electric locomotive to compliment your collection and give you a different experience across the line, coming with the NJ TRANSIT® Multi-Level and cab cars.

Dpart from Hoboken in the Arrow III, through the 1908 Bergen Tunnels, onwards to Newark and Orange to ultimately reach Dover station, or take the modern ALP-46 electric locomotive & MultiLevel cars on push/pull electric services bound for the Big Apple.

    NJ TRANSIT® ALP-45DP Electro-Diesel (Deluxe Loco)

Arriving to TSW for the first time, here comes a brand-new dual-power loco that mixes the best of overhead electric and diesel running.

The ALP-45DP is a modern and innovative locomotive that entered service in the early 2010s. Replacing ageing diesels, the ALP-45 is fitted with both a pantograph, and a diesel engine for dual-mode operation; this makes the loco capable of running across New Jersey’s unelectrified lines.

Unlike the ALP-46, the ALP-45DP is only a single-cab locomotive to make room inside for two turbocharged V12 engines, which combined are able to push and pull commuter trains away from the wires with 4200 horsepower under the hood. When making use of overhead wires, the ALP-45 can draw power from both the Morristown Division’s 25kV wires, and Newark’s 12kV setup, allowing them to operate to and from both Hoboken Terminal and New York Penn Station.

    Bahnstrecke Leipzig – Dresden
    [IMG]

Prepare yourselves for a trip along the oldest long-distance railway in Germany, now heading all the way to Leipzig with modern ICE, regional and freight traffic.

For those familiar with the original Dresden-Riesa line from TSW2, this new updated route completely overhauls and revitalises the entire experience, offering the full journey to Leipzig, extending the total track to a massive 160km, and featuring over 40 stations across the entire length!

The Riesa-Leipzig extension is all high speed, providing a greater run for IC and ICE traffic, and adding value to all regional journeys, and additionally the route will also feature the Dresden-Coswig branch via the massive Friedrichstadt freight yard, which also boosts existing passenger services.

Included with this route is a range of locomotives, primarily featuring the DB BR 411 ICE-T and the DB BR 442 Talent 2 for ICE and IC traffic, as well as the DB BR 146 + Dostos and DB BR 185 for freight services.

Additionally with Leipzig-Dresden, you'll be granted entitlements for the original Nahverkehr Dresden route Add-on, providing even more stock for you to use in TSW6!

DB BR 294 Diesel Shunter (Deluxe Loco)

Popular across Germany, pick up the DB BR 294 shunting locomotive and unlock new gameplay across the yards and industries of Leipzig-Dresden with classic diesel power.

The BR 294, originally known as the V 90 series, were built in the 1960s & 70s as heavy shunting locomotives. Their weight and power made them suitable for shunting long trains, but also transporting wagons between different locations. In the 1990s a fleet overhaul saw 290 locos rebuilt & reclassified as the BR 294.

Despite their age, and with multiple locos retired in favour of newer traction, many 294s can still be found working today, holding onto local train duties and preparing long-distance freight for mainline traction to take onward.

Train Sim World 6 Core Features

    New Feature: Random Events

It’s time to expect the unexpected – Randomised events are coming to Train Sim World 6 to completely change your game sessions and introduce a new level of variety. You will encounter two types of random events during gameplay:

    Signal Delays
A chance for some signals to take longer to update than expected, reflecting the realistic short delays due to human-operation for updating signal clearance.

Whilst this impact usually only results in waits of a few seconds longer than expected, due to the knock-on effect this can cause over a long journey, this can cascade and completely shift how you experience the run from one session to the next. You may end up further ahead, or stuck behind, other AI trains on the network, resulting in new challenges and situations requiring further awareness of the scenario unfolding around you.

    Temporary Speed Restrictions
A very popular request from players, temporary speed restrictions are also simulating the reality of railway operation, due to situations such as damage to the line, or railway workers around the tracks, causing a needed reason to limit the speed.
Safety speed restrictions can now be randomly placed across the track, causing moments where you’ll need to adjust your speed for a short section of track, and then speed-up to continue afterwards. At the beginning of your session, you’ll be given a briefing to outline where all the temporary speed restrictions will be, so you can plan ahead.

These two random events were top player-requests from our TSW Winter Survey and will provide a complete unique experience to playing the game, especially when in combination with eachother!

Don’t fancy the chaos? In the event you’re not looking for the extra level of challenge, or hoping for a smoother journey - you will also be given the ability to toggle off both of the Random Events from happening in your next session easily within the settings menu.

    New Feature: Train Faults
Continuing the theme of providing unique and new gameplay to each of your sessions in Train Sim World, the next feature coming is Train Faults – adding an unpredictable realistic element to your services that may need urgent attention!
Whenever these faults occur, a pop-up will walk you through the needed steps in order to resolve the issue – You’ll never feel lost on how to resolve the faults, however, you will need to stay prepared in case it changes your plan!
Players will experience a wide range of faults on their trains, including:
    • Stuck/Broken wiper blades
    • Headlight malfunctions
    • Dynamic Brake Failure
    • Tilt faults for tilting trains
    • And many more!
Matt: “Even if nothing goes wrong – these new train faults will keep you on edge, you’ll find the experience driving will be different because you’re anticipating the scenario if something does happen, which keeps the gameplay exciting!”
Like Random Events, if you don’t want to Train Faults during your gameplay sessions, you can easily toggle them off in the settings menu.

New Feature: Platform & Train Announcements

After Random Events, announcements were the second-most highly voted core feature that you wanted to see, and from the speculation across the community, it’s fair to say many of you were grateful to hear the good news of its arrival in Train Sim World 6!
Fully integrated into the on-board systems, with PIS and Tannoy’s around the trains, the movement and activity of trains flowing in and out of stations will be played audibly, adding an extra level of realism that we’re excited to finally bring to you all.

If you’re standing around on platforms, you’ll hear the key information broadcast, such as when the next train is arriving, when it’s departing, and how many stops are coming up.

And whilst we’re keeping an ear out for the next announcements, we’ll also be listening for your feedback on this new feature, and how this new level of immersion is elevating your game sessions!

    New Feature: Passenger Ambient Audio
On top of all the TSW6 features we’ve outlined above, we have a new feature we'd like to announce today, the most-requested existing feature to improve in TSW, following your feedback in our recent player surveys - it's of course our wonderful passengers!

The audio team have been focussing increasing the immersion you feel when playing any game sessions, either in timetable services, scenarios, or when putting on the conductor’s hat. Coming with TSW6 will be all new Passenger Ambient Audio – adding new noises and chattering in coaches that dynamically adapts in volume based on how many passengers are seated in a single area.

We’re hoping this change goes hand-in-hand with our announcements, making the audio experience across TSW more complete, and keep the world feeling more alive than ever.

    Additional Improvements
Alongside the passenger improvements, we’ve also continued to improve other aspects of the game to ensure the experience is the best as possible.

Training Center – A New Free Loco!

Firstly, we’re adding the SD40-2 US locomotive into Training Center as a free locomotive for everyone to enjoy, helping more people get onboard with US content, and give everyone who picks up TSW6, or even the Free Starter Pack, a whole new loco to play with in Training Center or Free Roam!

    Memory and Robustness
Back in June 2025, we shared the first stages of our major reworks to memory and robustness in Train Sim World, to improve the experience as much as possible for all our platforms, and give players more options to manage their memory with new settings.

Our focus has continued on these optimisations, with our priorities aimed at tackling blurry textures, visual fidelity, and making the most out of available memory.

I’m a diesel lover, I’ve been wanting new sounds for the 150 for a long time and they finally got a recording trip for the 150, bravo!

150 aside, the riveria line looks really good! The new water textures look crisp! Can’t wait to be running down the Dawlish sea wall at sunset!

DTG Alex I thought that non TSW product was going to be talked about on the Dovetail Direct video yesterday. Is this coming at a separate date?

    Hey there,

All new add-ons will be available for purchase separately at launch. However, you may find the Standard/Deluxe/Special Edition better value.
If you are only interested in a certain core route you are able to pick up the Free Starter pack plus your route of choice, just like the regional bundles from previous years. This was mainly omitted to de-clutter the store page and streamline your purchasing experience.

    All the best,
    Jan

The perils of copy and paste: Just as a heads-up, not every mention of Train Sim World 5 in the FAQ was upgraded to 6.

DTG: I think there's written something wrong on the German Bahnstrecke Leipzig - Dresden roadmap. It's says 77km of new track that will make a total of 106km. But I thought Matt said yesterday it was 160km, which make sense because the Dresden-Riesa route was around 80km.

    Greetings Stefan

as someone who is only interested in knowing about the santa fe gameplay pack, I felt like a fool for waiting for today's roadmap, which was more of a recap of yesterday's dovetail direct than an actual roadmap

Should we PS5 players expect a reduced timetable again? I'm thinking specifically of Dresden Leipzig. And is there any prospect that we can get the full benefit of the Frankfurt S Bahn?

Will TSW6 solve the texture blurring on consoles, I'm specifically interested in the PS5?

More NEC, new countries, the Santa Fe Cajon Pass Pack, and lots of cool new features. TSW6 could be really great. I want the Santa Fe Pack and Cajon Pass, along with some more BNSF and ATSF locos (GP60/M/B and B40-8W needed; also an SD75M/I and GP50).

Yes this is one of the most important things I wanna know too! The blurry textures have to be solved by releasing a new game. And also enable the layers on S Bahn Frankfurt. If this is not the case they really should have been solving problems first instead of releasing a new game with the same bugs as TSW5.

Well let’s just hope at third attempt we get something more reflective of accurate 150 as per AP spec which is true to the 150 and who knows maybe this is the fix for the promised tfw 150

And fix the flickering graphics (the Vectron is completely unusable) and spitting, popping audio every 10 seconds affecting all trains on Xbox. Please can someone from the Dev team be honest, you are asking people to part with their hard earned cash again!! Will these 5 year old problems just be ported over to the new version or fixed with the new release? If no response is given then we can assume its everything as before…”Ask and we deliver” Matt said in the launch video last night……a lot of us have been asking for these fixes for a long time…….its time you delivered. There are some good things coming in TSW6, but what is the point if you don’t fix the core bugs that have been there since day 1

It feels like we've had at least 10 recaps at this point about what was announced the direct.

I did look into that, but my knowledge of English is not at a level where I can understand everything, but I still didn't notice that this topic was discussed, but maybe I just skimmed it... however, this fundamental mention is not even in the link to the FAQ for TSW6......

But if you know the answer to this question, it would be nice if you shared it.... the note about whether I watched yesterday's video is actually useless. But thanks anyway.

Saw the dovetail direct and read the roadmap, quite interesting what they're delivering to us with TSW6 and the new country touched it's the cherry on the cake!
ATM I'm a little afraid from the optimization due the last "Frankfurt" route that not showing the best performance, especially with the audio freezing, but I thought to buy it!

Is it confirmed that "random events" will work for all routes, even older ones like (for example) Rapid Transit?

    Perfect.
As for the announcements and train breakdowns, I could do without them, but the random events are truly exceptional.

Barely seen anybody really mention Passenger Ambience Audio, but hopefully that'll make guard mode a tad more interesting - just as long as you don't do it enough to have heard all the audio over and over again.

I once pulled in to a station on SEHS and exited the train. The noise of passengers talking sounded like a thousand people......but the station was empty!

I'd hate to have that experience on board a train. It would be surreal.

I don't think that would happen or else its no point of them adding. Maybe back than it doesn't make sense, but now DTG is really stepping up their game, and giving more realism feature and enhancing our experience of more realism in game. Having more of these feature passenger announcement and passenger ambient on platform and train is REALLY GOING TO ENHANCE OUR EXPERIENCE IN GAME MAKING IT MORE REALISM WHICH I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TOO. This has also been the feature that was highly requested. There was one youtube video of a youtuber that had a chance of experiencing it first hand, and in their response it have been an absolutely game changer, that really change the feel of the game tremendously. This is showing that this features is going to change our whole experience of the game, which i am REALLY EXCITED TO EXPERIENCE IT MYSELF WELL I GET THE GAME. :D;)

They mentioned in the stream that they actually got an audio trip on a GWR 150 when they were making this route, GWR has basically helped them which is very great to hear!

do I wish these sounds came earlier? Yes, yes I do, we all wanted them but if I gotta wait just another month, guess I gotta wait.

I just hope maybe DTG can show us little snippets of the audio or maybe post a YouTube video of their trip, have done in the past and would be cool!

also if you want to hear what the new 150 sounds are like, check out British Ace’s TSW6 roadmap preview. When he’s covering the Rivera line, one of the clips in the background is a 150 departing and you can actually hear the in game audio and it does sound different in a relatively good way from what I know 150’s, as I work with them :)

I just watched the roadmap, thanks DTG Matt and the rest of the team for listening to concerns RE the 150 sounds. Genuinely, 100% appreciate it. I was excited from Dovetail Direct, but I'm more confident in my purchase now.
