In the announcement of TSW6 one of the core routes was the Morristown Line, but it has a big problem I wanted to discuss and that is the route length. While it's about time we got more NJ routes in the game, especially the Morristown line, I am extremely livid that they didn't include the entire Morristown Line to Hackettstown. The section we're getting is only the 40 miles of track from NY Penn and Hoboken Terminal to Dover. I repeat: 40miles! And the section from Dover to Hackettstown is only an extra 19miles of track, which would make the route 56miles! Even the TS Classic version of this route omitted Hackettstown so why are Dovetail not bothering to model Hackettstown this time?! The choice to cut the route at Dover doesn't make sense due to the deluxe locomotive we're getting alongside the Arrow 3 and reused ALP- 46. The deluxe locomotive we're getting is the ALP45DP, an electro diesel locomotive able to run on diesel and electric power (as the name suggests) but the sad part is that you will be spending the time running this deluxe electro diesel locomotive under the wires for the entire time. So essentially, with the route cut at Dover, you can't have the opportunity to change power sources to run the unelectrified stretch to Hackettstown, huge missed opportunity! Hopefully Dovetail an take the hint, listen to us properly and finally extend the line to Hackettstown, a much needed route extension
That's DTG for you hypocrites bout route length, but nope Dresden dlc gets an extension that's about 100 miles and all...I told ppl about this when it comes to US passenger content...Same with this NEC-New Haven one. They are biased So all that talk about an extension is impossible from them is officially DEBUNKED!
And they should've And they should've added Newark Penn Station for this dlc. At least some playable operations to/from Newark Penn... but again thats DTG bias stuff for you
Even with an extension to Riesa - Dresden, its still shocking to still see Dresden Airport branch omitted, meaning the S2 service is borderline unplayable, not to mention the fact that this branch is only 6miles long. What a let down
Well that's DTG fault for giving them hope in the beginning of the airport branch, why wasn't it added til this day to the Dresden dlc, idk. But the airport def should've been part of this dlc.
I understand that the airport tunnel needs light baking, but can't they just take their time with it instead of just giving it up entirely? Talk about missed opportunities with routes like this, especially with the announcement of the Morristown Line
With the Morristown line, I'm sorry but I would've at least added Newark Penn Station(yes that's NEC), but as an additional part to the dlc, and that also brings me to the next thing...Now that arrow IIIs are in the game, are they going to include in them in the NY-Trenton game in the future???..AND how do we still not have the comet cars in this dlc still. Laziness from DTG
Btw u mentioned the ALP45DP, it's a waste of a locomotive if you going to END the dlc at Dover lmaooo...this dlc is fully electrified. See what I mean, DTG DOESNT do their homework fully.
About half of all trains going to Hackettstown are using the Boonton line and that line doesn't see that much action sadly. There's only like 15 trains daily past Dover each direction split between M&E and Boonton lines. Probably not a lot of replayability if you stick with real life schedule. Having said that I still hope DTG would add Montclair/Boonton line as an extension to this route in the future.
The Arrow III unintentionally highlight the lack of the tiny Princeton branch on NY - Trenton, which is only 2 miles long. I repeat: 2 miles!
Hold up, thanks for mentioning thar, how you exclude that...How you only give us the Morristown but exclude the Montclair-Boonton Line where they split off at Newark Broad St and Denville. This is why I said DTG doesn't care about the US, they are LAZY and biased...But didn't the recent Frankfurt DLC have THREE different S-Bahn branches after Frankfurt????Why can't we have both Morristown and MBL I. This dlc
19 miles is still 19 miles. 19 miles of signals. 19 miles of stations and track and scenery and so much more. It is not an easy job to do. They have a deadline and budget to work with. The alp46 also runs on this route, so should they not have included it? The only other option is to buy a whole other dlc costing $40 just to get it layered, so having it as part of this route is better than nothing
I also find it a shame because if you take S2 on the route, you will see that DTG was supposed to include it but cancelled it (there are scenarys and platforms)
Sure an extension of 19miles is difficult, but that doesn't make the DLC immune to criticism. And we are paying customers, not beta testers and we just want this game to reach its full potential. So stop defending this DLC from criticism
Nice try, they disappointed because it's the same ROLLING STOCK, and no new stock added...Try again!!!
Probably because they don't wanna limit the route to deluxe edition. But they could've included the alp-45 and then have the arrow as deluxe.
That doesn't work as well because you'll still run a default locomotive under the wires and the fact we need more new rollingstock in the game rather than just reusing content over and over again
