This is something different, and relatively new to the British Railway Network. Therefore, it would be nice to see DTG to utilise this Class of Train and bring the TransPennine Express Company to TSW.
Hello Star#5823, The Class 397 is a modern, high-speed electric multiple-unit train, manufactured by CAF for TransPennine Express services. Whereas the British Rail Class 800 is a bi-mode multiple-unit train, produced by Hitachi. Two different manufacturers, 2 different designs. I look more for the designs (the look) of the High Speed Trains on our British Railway Network. Thank You, Gibson
Sorry I just don’t really see too much outside difference but yeah we could use some new high speed trains like class 370 or inter city 225
Hello Star#5823, No need to apologise. I didn't realise how sharp my last message would come across. I was educating you on the Class difference in case you didn't know. Not to divert from the fact that I do chose the Routes to add to my collection based on the design of the Train and the trains that are in my collection are the UK Commuter Trains, but the majority are our High Speed Fleets. Thank You, Gibson
TPE would make a nice addition to TSW with any of the Nova trains or the class 185 dmus. If players want a section not yet represented, you could do either Liverpool to Manchester or Leeds heading east. However the Manchester to Leeds leg is somewhat different today compared to NTP (1984).
Hello ElArthur, Manchester to Leeds would be a great addition to TSW6. I think it is about time we got a Northern Rail Line. It has been a long time coming. The use of the 397's and the 185's would be a Route loved by many Players, and I think a lot of Players would spend a lot of time playing with the Route as People are about to do with the Voyager coming to TSW6, myself included. Thank You, Gibson
We have Manchester to Leeds already, albeit set in the 1980s. We also already have Northern routes in the form of Glossop and Manchester Airport Commuter.
It would be great to see NTP get the upgrade treatment. It used to be my go to route but now it seems very grey and dull what ever the weather setting. It was a good introduction to some diesel traction though.
I like Manchester to Leeds as we have it in NTP. My only gripe is that the Class 124 Transpennine dmus have never been added which should also include the Class 123 dmus which were regular performers during 1984. This also includes the lack of the Class 141 Pacers. All 3 classes need inclusion as NTP in 1984 was perfect for them with classes 123 and 124 on the eve of withdrawal and class 141 just starting its career. As it stands, every Transpennine service is either loco hauled or Class 101 which is not entirely accurate.
