This thread I’ve set up to help me reach a project goal. For a number of months I have been working with a few community members in a project based setting. Unfortunately team targets wasn’t met and the only resealable cause for this would down to lack of experience dealing with tasks in a project based setting. I now find I’m on my own running a project that is Railway 200 based. After many attempts of trying to inspiring others that like my self see this year as an opportunity to create something positive for the occasion, I have found no one jumping at the chance to create something meaningful for all. So by creating this thread is not done just for the assistance, but to gain more understanding in the ideal way of finding talented individuals willing to commit to such complex work by giving themselves a challenge working with others in a team project setting. What is or would be the correct way to approach the community in achieving what I’d like to see happen together. The main project was at the beginning to simply find work from the community, engage with that individual as their work would have been used for a planned Great Gathering on TSW5. A place for all users work to be displayed as a community fan project for Railway 200 events. A open opportunity to outsides adding work or be fully involved as a R200 member working towards each individual ideas. I need more creativity from minds to be able to make a vision become a reality together. Having others within a team that are happy bringing their passion and expertise to the table to work as one. If possible I would like to change that today. Be to find new team members and finding the best way to build a community team without becoming a pain a seem like there’s any begging going on for self gain or popularity on a forum. Anyone that truly knows me will know that I’m not for self gain but to bring others together enjoying their skills and passion for a greater purpose. Be to represent brands like Railway 200 S&DR200, names of famous civil engineers down to the charities and government or private investors helping to bring this years 200 year anniversary of the birth of modern rail to the masses. Its about bringing all that together in a creative manner as fans of railways, a show our thanks to those who provide what we have today over the last 200 years. What this years events organisers have given fans and what is in store for the future. Here some wait for the future, yet I’m here to create a vision of the future now, today. With that I think you the community will understand what I am looking for. An Individuals help for a number of weeks building on the ideas I have come to light for all to enjoy. Be as a creator or end user. I don’t have much time left nor will rush work at the risk of quality and representation of the chosen theme or persons. For me to achieve this and continue with a high level of professionalism I need some help with taking some ideas running with them to make it happen. Livery creators, (All types) individuals whose talents are with rolling stock creations. And for any scenario ideas definitely need a scenario creator or storyline creators or what I call a scenario planner. So much to do and why I am seeking assistance and advice on how or what’s the best way to assemble a small team enjoying a passion so others can enjoy. Rejoice in what our last 200 years of railway history speaking A time of being a proud Britain, a Great Britain built by the great men of the past. My project was to stick to the original organisers core theme. To Inspire. And the tag line. Past, Present, Future, Together. Together people Not for individual gains, it’s for placing pride in our hearts and what our great nation has achieved since the moment mankind started to move which gave rise to the industrial revolution that made Great Britain a power house of the world. The Railways built Great Britain. For me as an individual that has always been interested in civil engineering and design has to honour their heritage. Our identity. Or new one Using an Icon of our past for future generations to build memories like those of the last 200 years. It’s still the people’s story, and one that might not be told if the Railways never brought people closer together like never before in the history of man. I've seen your Railway 200 project thread. I think some of the liveries that you've created are great. But to me the moment you make it a project based setting and presumably expect people to meet deadlines then it becomes work. Unpaid work and that's not something I'd enjoy. I have enough pressure in my real job without someone telling me I've missed a deadline in my hobby. If it was something you were doing for fun and people could spend time as and when they wanted then I can see the appeal of being part of something, but then it's more of a club than a project based setting. I admire what you are trying to do, but I think you're expecting too much. Make it fun and don't worry how long it takes. Anyway, I have no artistic talent at all, so I'm not the person that you're looking for. I wish you luck though.
I can see what the OP is trying to do and respect that fact, but at the same time it all smells like someone might think they have a smidge of influence and a following and have got very drunk on power they think they have in this community and hobby. When doorways need to be widened because of ego and self importance nothing ever ends with a happy ending......
Hey there. And no your question isn’t a dump one. It’s just a question I can’t answer. I wish, but allow me to take this opportunity to clarify what I’d like on advice on setting a team or even assistance at this late stage. In simple terms set a team up. I have tried this with a few members yet didn’t turn out well. Now I’m looking for users that are committed to their particular passion. So livery creators who can work independently with ideas of their own and ones shared within a team or group setting. Same with scenarios and for formations designers. Bring it all together like a Dovetail Joint. Basically more a mix of skills and passion form willing individuals then what could be achieved as a team. I think big and can’t do this is on my own. I have my draw backs and so could do with others skills from the community. That’s all I am looking for at this stage. Advice on how to assemble a team with the right members that enjoy creating and if so you or anyone else is free to DM if so, or any community member are interested in not waiting to see what the future holds. Creating can write the future. If you are interested then I’m looking for some help with a LMS Vs LNER. Streamlined Express of the LNER’s A4s and the Coronation Class of LMS. There’s a number of themes going on with the 390 allocated to WCML and 801s to the ECML. 390 007 is a hidden project, GBR and Railway 200 themed. And 390 220 is part of a Streamliner series solely for the 390s and for the A4 Heritage Project (Old) the Class 801. I will be forming a new look for a batch of LNER 801s so it’s a great opportunity to jump on board if that’s something you’re interested in doing with me for now?. My aim is to form a large team eventually so as a team brainstorm ideas and make it happen. Anyone can bring ideas to the table too, again it’s a great way for others to be involved in getting their visions of the ground. The R200 Project was and always has been about others and coming together. As my opening statement for what this is all about is to inspire others as much as Railway 200 has for me. For lovers of all things rail oriented, fans of what Great Britain, her people and what they achieved. It not just about Great Britain tho. Not looking a fair it’s easy to see how the steam engine in general brought the world together. Great Britain the power house of the world. And how a simple engine and the idea of using it for motive power changed our world for ever. Hey there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinions. You’re right and I fully agree with you. I myself feel like it’s work and unpaid too and so don’t feel it’s expected of me to do what I do. I do because I love to create. And with Railway 200 I have so many ideas I’d like to share them with others that do enjoy TSW as a hobby or passion. Clear aims or a lose time frame. So in the R200 project it and I took each individual’s personal life into account. We discussed as a team together to and voted. Something I felt was necessary for all to be heard and listened too. Plans made or the goals that can be reached by setting a time frame that’s comfortable to each individual. I perfectly understand and agree no one’s is going to approach this thread or R200 project if they feel fun will be taken away. I use the word freedom. I don’t have a clock, have a calendar or let time dictate my life. That’s how ages gets you. And why you’ll never see me do a road map. I let freedom give what it gives me. A free mind to create. I’m not a clock watcher is what I am trying to say. Yet in a project sense then for all members a time frame was needed. But yes I fully see your point and why since day one even at the failure of R200 project or for the greatest gathering on TSW5, I allowed that freedom, yet look what happened. You cans see why I’m looking for people that enjoy creating for the benefit of others not as the individual. Greed or for fame or fortune. Why it’s could seem I’m being a little uptight or serious. Maybe I’m indirectly trying to say I need individuals I can trust and not greedy at heart to again pull the life out of a community relationship setting. In the beginning it was me making liveries as I would be, I seen the advantage of involving others as at the core of Railway 200 it’s about that. Celebrating 200 years of modern rail. And then inspiring people with the inspiration train. Past, Present, Future. I felt after signing a little contract or agreement on terms of use I must remember what Railway 200 is about and the message that its owners want that logo to convey. That’s what the greatest gathering on TSW5 was all about. Users sharing their creations and then placing them together for all to see. Fun for those that couldn’t go yet had their own livery at a community forum event. The core principles of R200 and what I want was open fun and for the teams to run with it. That never happened and instead of creating wasted time by delaying and so the message got lost in all th chit chat. I’ll be honest and say that message did get lost. The fun with the ideas running with them and getting them out there for others to enjoy. So yes I’ll try no go on because I see your points and agree with because it’s something I have always been mindful off. If you can do scenarios would you be happy at banging a fun speed challenge scenario together. Or a time run challenge. People can post there times as a bit of fun. The LMS vs LNER give fans the opportunity to get their livery added to that challenge scenario. A to B that’s it. Fastest time. And then A to B to C as overall time. I can’t make scenarios and been trying yet I know when something is not for me. That’s all I’m looking for, someone who can put a little scenario together with a little twist. That would make you clueless Railway 200 is or has been a national event on the run up to the September 27 a day that changed our would forever. Stockton and Darlington Railway or S&DR200 event this coming soon. DTG have even made references to the event with being two days before TSW6 release. I’m enjoying what the events have done for me as a lover of engineering and creativity. Just seeing if anyone is interested in helping. ✌ Oh and no. Devs are ghost, and you can see me. If I respond then I’m egotistical. I will say this tho I have no friends because I don’t need my ego filled or my opinions validated. Because you’re right with egos at risk people get upset. Why I don’t have friends because of their egos and constant need for validation. It’s waste of energy, energy that can be spent on self reflection, learning, growth. What you perceive as reality is mostly built on inner insecurities. So what ever perception you do have is not built on reality. Because I can assure you this, if I could be a ghost I would. You get more done behind the curtain than playing the fool for the crowds. And so if this was a normal situation then yes I’d agree fully with you. Most of today’s society is built on hey look how may followers etc. It’s all fake tho and have always seen through it. Vanity, Money, Greed. Not me my friend. And I will agree building anything on ego is all fake. So wouldn’t last long, and is the reason I’m not looking for egotistical men, or woman. It’s mind blowing and all done with no fancy computers. They have my respect and why I will be honouring them if it takes me another year ✌

It's not clear what's being proposed here or indeed what the project actually is. The OP has asked for advice on setting up a team, and the advice I'd offer is that clear communication is key - without that nobody serious is going to sign up.

I’ll ignore the condescending tone since I mistook your project as a third party endeavour originally. My knowledge on the railways (past and present) is probably one of my weaknesses on the forums, but I come here to learn. I just educated myself on the event you speak of, at first glance it does seem really interesting and something the common train enthusiast would enjoy. Move on past that. Always hard to read a tone in txt. Again thank you tho taking the time to show some interest. I’m the same not really clued up on certain aspects of railway as some people are on the forums. It’s about bring fans interested in railways together to support. Ie I hold my hand up if I have weakness but my weakness maybe someone’s else strength. But sharing strength I feel is great way we learn and grow enjoy a game our passion for what could be achieved. Looking at some of the comments today then again I can see how hard it is to find someone with basic common sense. A problem I’m use to when it come to those that don’t see. When it easy to see I have passion and simply looking for like minded individuals who enjoy the game and all things rail. As you rightly say it’s is interesting especially when it comes to celebrating Railway 200. I’ve been looking for fans of that event so we can share that interest. Get a few peoples together and see what could be achieved. I will never know unless I try, or try a different way. Little test and after this brief test I have all the answers I need. OP, might I suggest some actions; Sum up your aims & goals in clear, concise language & format. Post them in the community creations, or off topic sections. Stop being passive aggressive - warranted or not, it’s not the behaviour people look for in project leads.
Hey they I appreciate that. Let me clarify something things then, Firstly if members can freely insult or even add anything constructive, possibly even ask a simple question. Then I will respond if it’s worth my time and energy. No one has even worked with me here, So all I are assuming and I can see plugging what they like to fit a narrative of childish nonsense. I’m not here for thats and why I would explain in more depth if a member was interested. I don’t hand out valuable information easy neither and after working within transport industry as planner I feel there no need to go into any of that. I keep it simple and if people are aware of Railway 200 or not is nothing to do with my ignorance. The the tone here I started off speaking positive. The environment yet when others enter that environment that mood can change. A forum is one we share thus our environment. That’s why I will walk away or waste time entertaining things that will not get anyone anywhere. And I am what I am. I don’t live on words that comfort the ego. I speak directly to by pass the BS and to the point. Ie say for example you was at the beginning to help be involved. There is many reason for this which is another story. So all it was at the beginning was an idea. Like any ideas they need others to get it off the ground. Here I approached a member that like all members feel down very now and then talking to them selfs after sharing work. I wanted to change that for a certain member that has helped me in the past with a simple comment of “Slow down”. I’d only just returned after something personal but is to do with mental health. But I ran with the idea as I felt I hadn’t achieved much in the last few years. Stuck down after 2019. 2 years unable to move and at the time a system that was on the blink of collapse. So the basic concept was this. The community was key and I wanted the community’s involvement. Not for me no no no. But away for others to come together by sharing ideas and creations. It was important to speak to those that added because there was a YT lined up for filming TGG on TSW5. There was something for everyone. Be a YT, A scernrio creator, LD, formations you name it. All coming together enjoying our passion with other members of the community. Again a community we all share and why I don’t like it when people take things out of context. The community is our environment if we come here and share. If I post nothing of value or meaning to me as an individual member to share and help improve the community environment for other in a positive way then what are we left with. More like for a mindless gif over a creative idea. I know how the world works tho and is a reason for how I speak. So again if you did join at the beginning say as a scenario planner the task was to use community work via the thread set up. To make sure those users were aware and okay with their work being publicly visible if used on YT. And that work would be implemented into the TGG scenario or even have the freedom to add your own ideas. I had a room set up so all could share ideas and add if time was permitting and the team had the right amount of man power so the team wasn’t rushed or felt under pressure. Again it’s meant to be fun so having the number of team members with drive was key to making life easy for all. Man management of being able to run with a given task building off other tasks in the mix. All working together or one can delay the others or put others under pressure. But that’s the past now yet the idea was simply and so were the task in and large vision. Yet the problem with visionaries is you get ones that see the opportunity or the ones that fear so would rather destroy. The boat I’ve alwsy been in and so been through some storms. Yet if I did take all the comments to heart because of wounded ego that would mean I don’t have confidence in my own judgment or ability. I’d be making a mistake most people that don’t succeed do. Not care or trust their own opinions but value others to fit in or be accepted in society. Anyway my tone to you is just a free one. I don’t hang on little world or insults. That’s ego or pride. If that gets in the way of trying to achieve something positive then we can see that like most say the world is doomed. Hey I’m up for laugh any time. I just take pride and yes I might not always make things easy for myself. I agree about that in social settings. Yet more people get to know each other all that fades. Why build walls. And why your more than welcome to join as the project PR manager I can only try my best. Fail then get up and try again but learning from the mistakes of the past. Only then would it truly be a mistake. Even this thread is all a learning process. One being I don’t share all my ideas at once. Only the few that are close will know. Because look past all the fake smiles it’s about energy exchange. So it’s important if any form of friendship is to last it’s based on a fair exchange of energy. Good and bad. So for me I felt the way it was going there not point wasting good energy on the bad energy. A drain on the individual you see. And more than that knowing when to feed that or walk away. I offered the latter for that reason. Save time and energy. Time we can’t buy from the shops, and energy is wasted on to many pointless things. And you could say you have better things to do than use that valuable time or energy by resorting to gifs. What could be done in that time and that moment like now. Edit. Hey there I feel I was a little short with you there so I’d like to apolozies for that. For all this business of a Dev then let there be no illusions here. A Dev I am not. Yet if building is what Devs do then building or creating something out of nothing is what’s so fun about probably being a Dev. But and there is always a but and that is as a Dev it’s not all about the fun and games Work over a passion. Work or Direction can hamper a person creatively. Why even small talk of forming a team of individuals who to like to build sounds daft to the Gif Gang. But no man can build on his own. Think back as a kid, building a base, or be playing football it’s all building be in material matters or a friendship. It’s all about building. Here I have weakness just like others do. No shame in holding one’s hand up to not knowing something. Yet create an opportunity for strength in each individual is what makes a team. A strong one too that share the same vision or ambitions. Ie a person may have loads of talent, yet all that is wasted because that person isn’t getting the full potential from within or from others around them. Why I mention our environment. Be around negative energy and it will be felt. Yet around one of passion or energy to build something and with their say is what this thread is about in some sense. Finding individual who if they want something could In theory create what you ask. Look at all members that I’m sure could put a game or route together. Nothing is out of the realms of the impossible. It’s seeing past any challenges ahead and say oh to hell with it. When you feel like ones of their depths but carry or regardless. Unmoved, Unfazed. Yet without going wild here I’m not necessarily looking for that. It would be nice yet here I am today on my own still so that says something. That be I’m either crazy or others are crazy for not seeing the power of not gifs but one of building together something we want or to give to others. Anyway if the impossible did happen then I will say this. Not one inch or any part of the past or present network will be missed or forgotten and so will be made. But,,,Only if people want it built. For as a creator then time is wasted if building something that will never be used. And when developing a product then time is money so time can’t be wasted for nothing can’t be built without money. Not Torpedoes or Mines?. I’d say more likely to be Air to sea weapons systems then Sea to Sea like in the 1940s. Battleships are obsolete, so are close quarter encounters unless placed in the context of ships of the line. Aircraft carriers is the main component of a surface group or task force. And now drone (edit) technology. Lasers and IMP. No Bullets or shells because Battleships fired shells and few naval vessels fully rely upon main gun turrets now. And the term lose lips sinks ships is an old term for letting out secrets. Ie during the WW2 or more so during the Cold War there’s was spies everywhere so it was important for the British people to keep their lips closed. Because if a spy heard of a task force or military operation from civilians then that information can or could be used to A. Strike on land or B at sea. Hence lose lips sinks ships. ✌
