Most people LOVE a 56! (I do). The scream of the valenta (like the HSTs before they replaced them with VP185s). It can do freight, it can drag trains and it also is great for the older era routes. If this does get taken into consideration: Could we have a version with a dellner and tight lock couplers so we can drag trains!
Add my vote, nothing short of shocking this classic loco but still doing service now has never been added to the collection.
Yes we need the class 56 even the class 69 for modern freight movements to replace the old and somewhat boring class 66 seeing as it’s on going use as the uks only modern day freight loco in tsw continues
Not a Valenta in the 56 but a Ruston-Paxman 16RK3CT, a descendant of the English Electric 16CVST used in the Class 50.
Technically still different operator so would still require a license from what I’ve gathered from other posts it just seems to unite the train companies into one but locomotives would probably be still linked to their operators (maybe have got this wrong but I think it was something on this line
I did think as the 56 being a good loco for a lot of routes as we have a lot of UK 1980s and 1990s routes Colas would require some sort of Network Rail wagon when the DC Rail 56s (they could do 56045) would be good if we had the JNA-T wagon What would also be good is if they added a dellner coupler to a 56 variant so we could drag LNER 801 and soon GWR 802s
Well, everything comes under a united brand, so licenses will probably be easier as everything comes under the DfT. Presumably licenses will be needed only for trains, rather than specific brands as the current branding will likely be replaced.
