As it stands, the scoring system docks you for not running wipers if it's raining in the simulation- even when it's not raining on you! Heading down the interminable tunnel to Atlantic Terminal on the LIRR? Sick of hearing the wipers squeak on dry glass? Dosen't matter- if it's raining outside, you have to run them, or get penalized. Please, DTG, tie the condition not to "precipitation" in the weather routine, but to "rain/snow on windshield" in the graphic routine.
Only noticed this issue earlier today and thought it might just be me doing something wrong, but it seems there’s an issue across the game for tunnels and rain. I don’t expect this will be fixed but at least someone’s brought some attention to it
The scoring system often penalizes you even its not your fault. Too often I've been held at a red signal only to arrive late at the next station without anything I could do. And indeed, not using wipers in a tunnel is another example of being incorreclty penalized. I try not to pay attention to the scoring system. But I agree it should work correctly.
Even if only a bit of rain for a minute penalises you if you don't use the wipers. Don't see why I get points deducted for not using the wipers for a few drops.
Your own fault for not using your psychic powers to predict in advance when it was going to begin raining.
