I thought it would be so. Then there needs to be a way of hiding obsolete routes retained for this purpose that won’t be played any more, from being visible in the game menu. Probably beyond the capability of the programmers though.

Will the class 442 (Talent 2) also be available as a 5-carriage version? Around Dresden (RE15, RE18, RB31, RE50 & as a reserve for S2 & S3), the trains almost always run as 5-carriage trains (during rush hour and sometimes also outside rush hour, usually reinforced by a 3-carriage train). It is rather the exception for only a 3-carriage train to run. Two 3-carriage trains coupled together do not occur at all.
The situation is similar on the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland (around Leipzig/Halle). However, these have slightly more 3-carriage trains in relative terms, so that a 3-carriage train running solo or in double traction is more common than in Dresden.

Are there any pictures of the temporary speed restrictions on the Leipzig – Dresden route?

Oh yes, I would also be very happy about the airport route.
As far as I know, this is not going to happen (instead, we have the route extension via Cossebaude), but I would also be very happy about it. However, I think a 5-part version of the class 442 (see above) is more important.

PS: Unfortunately, I can't join today's livestream because I have appointments at that time.

I wish that it will be extended to Dresden Airport

I'm really disappointed that the BR 442 isn't getting functional LZB. The switch to enable it has been visual decoration since it originally released.

According to Wikipedia, the class 442 trains are equipped for train safety systems with EBICAB 500, which only supports PZB and not LZB. Presumably, the LZB switch exists because it would have been possible to order the train with LZB, which apparently no one did.

As wunder99 mentioned, it's true that the BR 442 doesn’t come with LZB functionality. While there are buttons for it in real life, the actual feature isn’t available. That's why it's pictured like that in the TSW counterpart.

    All the best,

What I can understand are the complaints about the route not coming with any new rolling stock (the Deluxe BR 294 doesn't count).
I agree, at least the BR 442/1442 could have gotten a much needed brush-up, similar to what the 425 got for Ludwigsbahn.

What I can't understand are the complaints that the route should have been extended even more (airport for example).
Dresden-Riesa has been a favourite of many for a while, now it has been remade and about doubled in length... and it's still not enough.
I can imagine Dresden-Leipzig being problematic for some older or mid-tier systems as it is, especially if the traffic in the Dresden area is as complex as it is on S-Bahn Frankfurt. Expanding it even further would probably worsen things.

I've never been a huge fan of the old Dresden-Riesa (first and foremost because of the rolling stock), but I'm looking forward to the new route anyway. Hope it turns out as good as it seems :)

The problem is that we were promised the flughafen branch 4 years ago, dtg went back on that and now that they’ve revisited the route the flughafen branch still hasn’t been added. Going by the comments on the forums, people would rather have that than the line via friedrichstadt

OK, I have to admit I didn't know about the airport branch having been promised and then not delivered back then. Does indeed throw a different light on those requests.

I think they decided on Friedrichstadt instead to give the 294 more to do on this route. Personally, I consider it to be more interesting than the airport branch, but that's individual taste :)

Where exactly was that promise made? I haven’t seen or read anything about it. Still, it’s possible I overlooked it. I’d appreciate it if you could substantiate that claim clearly.

As far as I know, that promise was never made! In fact, to my knowledge, they’ve always stated it wouldn’t happen because of the tunnel and the lightbaking.

Scrapping the airport was definitely the correct decision back then, and doing Friedrichstadt instead of the airport is still the correct decision now. Doesn't matter which one's more interesting: trains from Leipzig/Riesa/Priestewitz go via Friedrichstadt (and a lot of them! RB31 and the majority of freight traffic). Trains from Leipzig/Riesa do not go to the airport. Case closed in my opinion.

You could totally do the airport (and maybe the Königsbrück or Kamenz diesel lines out north) as a separate route - it really doesn't need to have the whole Leipzig route attached to it as well.

Well… it was. When rush hour was announced in may 2021, we were told we’d get Dresden to riesa with the Meissen and airport branches. These were both subsequently scrapped, and the Meissen branch was eventually added in an update a while after launch

Yes, the more annoying thing is that the City-Tunnel has been excluded, as at least the S-Bahn services from Wurzen or Oschatz to Leipzig (further to Halle) go there via Stötteritz (also not included).

This is a fantastic route and am really looking forward to the Morristown and Riviera routes as well. Seems like DTG have come up with a super pack.

I agree, I thought there would be more train faults from launch. Tilt faults was even mention in the Direct when the feature was announced. I wonder if this feature, like the temporary speed restrictions, has been stripped down for release.

Sorry, but if you're going to call something a 'promise', then you should also provide proof of it... I haven't seen any, and I couldn't find any such promise online either!

Instead of continually questioning what I’m talking about, simply go and read the tsw rush hour article yourself, it tells you what was meant to be part of the route

NEW addition of 13 km Dresden-Coswig line
Maybe I missed something, but what exactly does that mean? I had the feeling that Coswig was already on the current Dresden-Riesa map or did you mean the line via Friedrichstadt?

There are two routes between Dresden Hauptbahnhof and Coswig. One runs via Dresden Neustadt and Radebeul Ost and the other (new) one via Dresden Friedrichstadt and Cossebaude.

You're kind of twisting things around now! You're making a claim without any evidence, and when I ask for it, instead of providing it, you just say "go look it up yourself"… For the record, you're the one who brought this up. I'm not convinced it's been mentioned anywhere, so fine if you don't want to share it but then don't make such claims.

Here is nothing mentioned about it so i have no clue what you talking about

You only joined the forums in May 2025. Trust us older users; the Airport branch was originally supposed to be in the first release of Riesa - Dresden back when it was announced for the TSW2 - Rush Hour release. It was scrapped because tunnels take a lot of work to create in their version of Unreal Engine 4. I do agree that it is sad it's still not being added.

The tracks themselves have even been laid, only the surrounding decorations are missing. There are even Videos about it on YouTube. I'd recommend Felix der Weise.

Now I get the story... They were planning to do it but never actually carried it out. From what I could find, this release was a mess anyway. It was announced during a DTG live stream but never added to the game. So technically, it's true that it was announced—only there was a catch... "Work in Progress"! Thanks for sharing :)

Sorry, but that’s complete nonsense. You can be involved with the game for a long time, but whether someone is active on a forum or not says nothing about how long they've actually been involved with the game, right? And just because someone has been active on the forum for a long time doesn’t necessarily mean they’re telling the truth either. That’s why my question is totally valid: what are you basing that on!

They suspiciously kept silent about the improvement of the old locomotives 146, 143, 185 and Dosto. They only announced the improvement of Talent 2. Will the rolling stock received with the new route meet modern standards and have a "suspension" function?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they've done absolutely nothing. After all, it's just a layer. I assume even the passenger announcements won't be present. The argument will probably be: 'it's not official TSW6 content.' Well, that's not a fact but you can see it coming, I'm afraid!

I think DTG is keeping quiet because it's not worth mentioning. All of these Trains were already in the Game with improved Suspension. The BR 185 on Ludwigsbahn and the others on Frankfurt-Fulda. The 143 and 363 aren't included in Dresden-Leipzig anyway; they're only available with Dresden-Riesa.

Well there can be no doubt that anything that is included via the "entitlement" will have no updates at all, to include suspension or train faults. Everything that is included in the base route, without the entitlement, already had suspension via earlier releases, except for the 442 which not coincidentally was the only stock noted as "redone." I feel confident that the 442 will include train faults but it's not a given that the rest will, especially since the 411 could have a tilt fault, but was conspicuously not mentioned.

Time 6:37 ..... same problem as with ICE-T from FTF ...... tilting only works on part of the kit .... oh yeah .....
EDIT: I put a link to the video and then I can't see it the next time I load it. :(

Well... you can have it too, using the great tool... "Free Roam".
Being single or even double heading.

You can also select your desired freight cars.

    Oh. My. Days.
I genuinely don’t know what else I can do to make you understand me: go and google the original article for Riesa Dresden. Maybe even trust the people who’ve been playing the game for longer than you’ve been on the forums?

Watching the preview stream now and for the announcers on the trains DB BR442 Doppelstock wagen are they the authentic Ingo Ruff ones or Heiko Grauel ones.

They said on stream they are not authentic due to licensing.

I thought it sounds quite good but i don't speak German so can't speak to the content of them.

    Yes, you are right.
I bought it several years ago.

I was a bit disappointed, when it was announced that one of the 3 new engines, will be a shunting one.
    Please don't get me wrong.
I like them, as mentioned above, I purchased the BR 204.
But it was an extra one, for a specific type of service.

For a completely new Train Sim World, - like the new great 6 one-, all the locomotives or trains might be for the mainlines.

The new BR 294 could also be offered as an extra one, together with a new freight car.
    For example a tank one.
We have only one model of tank, despite in Europe there are lot of different ones

Or I would like to have another another type of train.
Like for example a double decker EMU.
We are still missing this type of train, which is growing on European markets mainly.
Even the Peninsula Corridor in San Francisco, have just changed for the "classic", locomotive and passenger cars, to EMUs

Of course it is just my opinion.

The rest of the trains in TSW6 are really great!
    I liked them!

    Regards

For me the random faults are very questionable... If understand it correct it will only show via a popup that youre panto is down for example.... I hope they will add a message in cab if you choose to play without all those unnecessary assistent things.

Track speed reductions are also without magnets or AWS at launch
That together im not very happy with all this cheap things... So i will turn them off!! Sorry nice try DTG

2 reasons. One of course is licensing- not just from DB, but from the actors themselves. Two is utility: with an AI voice, it can be told to read any text file in the PIS station list, whenever you need it. With a human, you would have to bring him back in and record a new bunch of announcements every time.
