No DB Br 101 Expert in Timetable mode. So i have to buy all upcoming expert Locos ro be able to run the Expert 101 in Timetable mode on upcoming routes?

And therefore my next question: can i get a guarantee that i definitely will be able to spawn the Expert 101 on Leipzig - Dresden ? (PS5 standard) You are advertising that i will be able to spawn any loco/train on any route in TSW6. As this is not the case for TSW 5, i would like to have a clarification on this.

As for the rest, its quite an embarrassing look. The old section is basically copied 1 to 1 from DRA. Which wouldn't be a problem as such but, as other pointed out, it seems that none of the old problems habe been addressed at all.

Promised features not ready ? That close to release ? "We are working on it" we heard that so many times now, its getting old.

 

There's just been a Q and A on the Discord server. I didn't catch all of it, but two things I think are worth mentioning:
They spent longer on the announcements so there wasn't time to update the ICE-T sounds (also mentioned here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/ice-t-updates-on-tsw-6.93668/)
There's apparently a bug in the editor when it comes to placing OHLE, but the team have been working on fixing the gaps.

On a side note, I hope having to transfer information from Discord to the forums doesn't become standard procedure.

 

Yup this is pretty poor.

I barely like using the TSC discord, I’m not joining yet another discord to get information that should be globally available.

Also, why do we even need to ask the Q to get the A, if there is something relevant that should be known, make it known.

Why do we have to ask about the years old route with an OHLE issue, which still hasn’t been fixed when you’re rereleasing it.

 

Not to mention the whole point of the forum is that you can glance at it and update every so often while doing something else, not sit in a bl__dy Discord chat room all afternoon.

Anyhow from my POV apart from the BR94, the German route was always going to be the runt of the litter. In some respects they would have been better to have pushed forward the Stuttgart route and the BR140 which might have been less ambitious than what they have attempted to do with DRA and more of a crowd pleaser.

 

I dunno, they have Leipzig mapped out already with RT, then DRA is done - all they had to do was improve on what was there & add in the rather bland section between the 2. If anything this should have been a slam dunk & makes me more nervous about what’s to come.

 

Have DTG addressed the issues with Bornitz and Dornreichenbach stations yet?

 

This is something that put me off too. So I have to buy the Expert 145 (which I didn't intend to since the loco is not my cup of tea) to get an Expert 101 layer for this route? OK, no Expert 101 layer here for me then, it is.
And I don't completely buy the explanation mentioned in the stream that the standard 101 "is more popular", honestly.

In another thread I already suspected that Stuttgart-Heilbronn might have been originally intended to be the TSW6 core route, with the 140 being the included loco and the Wittenberge cab as the Deluxe addition. And at some point it fell behind schedule, so they shoved Dresden-Leipzig into the spotlight instead.

 

My take on the route is a bit of a mixed bag, however, my focus is different to the majority on here, it seems. My highlights:

Random Features:
I dont mind the missing / not yet working random features. Not sure how much I will use them in the end, anyway. I am still very sceptical in regards to the still very dumb signaller actually being able to handle this kind of randomnes. Until DTG is not upgrading the signaller I was not expecting these to work any way. The problem we have seen in the stream with the IC blocking the route into the final stop is something which already happens today way too frequently. And, lets be honest, this is not my first iteration of the game and I think I am pretty good in my expectation management by now. I am not waiting for them to work properly and this is not what I am buying this game for.

Announcements:
What has impressed me, though, are the announcements. I have not expected them to be of such a quality, audio wise. Of course, they also come with their own issues that will probably ruin the day for some, like wrong side doors announced because the consist drove the other way around (!) or the missing differentiation between local and long distance trains. However, I am very happy that they seem to be edible, for PC at least. In this regard, I am not so bothered with chatter in a quite zone of an ICE either, as you would not even hear any chater in the cab anyway and I can simply turn stuff off that I don’t want to hear.

LZB end:
What is ruining my day, however, is stuff like LZB end allows you to leave at 200kmh, which is simply not realistic! LZB would never release you above 160kmh. This was already an issue on MAG. Very sad to see its still an issue here. If this will be fixed I would be very surprised. Even though a fix would be as simple as reducing the 200kmh section to just before the signal...

PZB bug:
I simply cant understand that, after the 100th iteration (it feels that way at least) and at least for as many raised tickets by myself alone (I am exaggerating, however, there are quite a few...) of an ICE with upgared systems we are still not able to distinguish between restricted and normal PZB modes. Why is this so difficult:,-(

Scenery too clean:
We have definately left the high quality of routes like FTF or FSN with the complete lack of clutter on stations and scenery in general. I was so happy to actually feel more immersed into the stations around the Frankfurt routes and was really hoping this would be the new standard. I really hope that it was simply a design decision as they didnt want to do any updates on the old DRA section of the route and wanted to keep it consistend. I know, its a rather poor excuse, however, the only straw for me to hold onto if I want to believe that the more realistic cluttered stations will come back to the simulated Germany (because, trust me, they are pretty cluttered in real life...).

Rolling stock:
I do like the 294, however, this is nothing for me to get excited enough that I have to buy this route from the start. This would have been different with an IC2 or an ICE4, though.

All in all, I am still undecided when to get this route. What I am really waiting for is the 145 expert. Latest then I will be picking it up, though

 

The standard 101 is a DTG product, even if TSG had their hands on it. Thats the reason.

In this case im sure TSG wont let their expert dlc fans down and will update the timetable at some point.

 

This is the reason I refunded this morning because after last years debacle I am now concerned why is the UK route the last to be shown and so close to release as well?
Watching that last night also made me think I don’t need another German route particularly either if it’s not really new and though extended still looks very similar, ie lacking clutter and a backward step from the newer German routes.
No I’m going to wait and see, and might even just go for the free upgrade pack primarily to get the new UK routes after Riviera. After last year I’ve got a funny feeling about this one. WCMLS looked good in screenshots too….

 

To be fair, if a train's not moving despite having a green signal, that means there's something wrong with that train, not with the route.

 

Correct it has nothing to do with the dispatcher! This loco has a wrong instruction. If you look closer the pantograph of the 101 is also up on the wrong side.

 

Expecting the unexpected really hard rn.

 

Oh yeah, the old 101 can get very confused with the door controls sometimes if the loco and coaches aren't facing the same way. I had that problem in a timetable too at some point. Easy fix though.

 

Yes, that may be true, or it may not.
Because this train runs on this route, so in my opinion it's a problem with the route.

And we've all known about these damn red light errors for years, but apparently this problem hasn't been fixed either.
Just like DTG never properly fixed it in TSW5 routes, no, they just think, ‘We don't care.’
And when they then build these exact same errors into new routes, I think that's just cheeky.

 

I really hope the expert 101 timetable can be made available to all expert 101 owners when it finally arrives. I'll be buying the expert 145, but i don't think it should be a requirement to get the expert 101 on D-L.

 

It's not a red light error though if the train has a green light in front of it, is it?

 

It's still a lock up due to something not moving as it should be.

And before anyone suggests just going in the 2D map to delete the errant train, well 1. You shouldn't have to do that, and 2. Can have undesired consequences ranging from kicking you out of the seat on the player train with dire warnings about taking it over and failing the run when you sit down. Or on heavily trafficked routes cause the game to CTD.

 

I removed a train from New York penn blocking me and signal still did not change then CTD.

 

A wise decision, we’re all trying to remain hopeful but I think we all know it will be a long way from ready at launch, but prove me wrong DTG and reply to the issues raised here………..?

One thing we can do is not cough up the £50-£100 for an unfinished product.

 

There were positives from the stream, the route looks good, although the new section to Leipzig isn't particularly scenic. It will be a nice long run and Leipzig is a logical end point. There looks to be a variety of traffic on the route and I believe it could be one of the best German routes.

They explained why they weren't using a build with the random events and did say they would either do another later or put a video up showing them. From what I gathered the other streams will show them. If I recall they are going to show it on console too, although that could be me misremembering.

My main concern was the problem approaching Dresden when the trains got stuck. Matt did ask Lucas to look into why that had happened so I imagine they will view that as a priority. I have had this happen before but not a second time.

I think the chattering of passengers could get waring, although from what I gathered you'll be able to turn them down.

I would watch the stream if you haven't and make your mind up, much of it was good, I do feel though that maybe they should have given it another week or so and shown a final build.

 

I'm still wavering. I really don't need this German route, it's really not new and different from the original except for length, is it? And I'm not hearing great things about it scenery wise.

So I'll pass on the bundles.

If the Morristown route looks OK, I'll probably jut go with that plus the ALP45DP.

 

The only positive thing, if I looked carefully, is that in Dresden-Neustadt the "filter" disappeared as if it had been illuminated by the sun, everything was yellow in the previous version of DRA

But otherwise the current part of DRA seems completely unchanged to me, especially the shadows at the switches gave an inappropriate impression and there could have been more....I would say that they didn't bother much with the original part of DRA

 

the class 802 coming to TSW 6 has the same exact diesel engine sounds as the LNER 801 That we have in the game currently, yet they made it out as if it’s a whole new sound set in the dev dairy lol

 

Now that really does have my finger poised over the refund button. The 800's and 802;s are quite loud both exterior and interior. In fact at Stround the other week, when the train we alighted from pulled away, one poor old lady on the platform was covering her ears! Not me, I loved it, but if we can't enjoy that in TSW what's the point of having it with just the muffled low HP emergency/shunting diesel engine sound.
