Max Tracks has announced on ATS FB page the creation of Class 304/305/308/504 for TSC. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1524678610893349/user/61576264834063/ " As promised, I'm here to announce the first of (hopefully many) AI rolling stock packs for Train Sim Classic, designed to bring some of the long-absent units to the game for all your scenario needs Starting with the Class 304/504/305/308s (as a few commenters guessed!), I hope to cover as many of the variants and liveries these units carried as practical, with a few already in-game shown here. For now the aim is just to make these as stock for non-player trains in scenarios, but if there's sufficient interest (and source- 308 cab pics seem practically non existent) then there's always the potential for player-driveable upgrades later. The pack is currently work in progress while we're waiting for route builder availability to complete the Leeds North West Route, alongside work on the Class 333 cab and internals." Just AI for the start but it can go from there. Peter
Looks absolutely mega! Fills in a very nice gap, even if it is just for AI. Would be nice to see a 310 - even as an AI only train - as another model. I have a few WCML scenarios, for which I used the 303 BR Blue reskin as a makeshift 310, which could do with a better representation. Overall, very excited for it to release! Best of luck to the developer!
Whilst I don't delve into Train Sim Classic too often these days, the prospect of Leeds Skipton is exciting and even better with some first gen AC EMU's (a cry out for I often make) - if we can get a cab even if it's not 100% accurate, hope we can start driving these too, would love a 310 or 312, but let's at least see these first.
I said on the Facebook post that the models are far too nice to just be AI. They really deserve to be driveable, even if the cabs aren't 100% accurate.
I did not know if the cab from a Class 415 Southern EMU could be used https://store.steampowered.com/app/...r_Network_SouthEast_Class_415_4EPB_EMU_AddOn/ The front windscreen would look different from the inside but not from the outside And the Power Controller and Brake Handle are very similar 305 415
I know the Colne Valley Railway Class 308 vehicle is missing a lot of the interior, but I wonder how much of the cab remains
I mean a cab wouldn't be impossible, but I didn't want to promise anything from the start if it was going to turn out difficult to find source images or if there wasn't much interest in one. But honestly despite these units being quite niche in my mind, the people who enjoy this era are clearly very passionate about it and there's a lot of enthusiasm for driveable units, so I'm more tempted to look into it and see what can be done. I still want to be clear that I won't be aiming for AP levels of detail, features etc. My goal still is relatively short projects that can fill some longstanding gaps in the available rolling stock for TS, but I'd like to strike a good balance that looks good and fits well without needing to take many months to produce and be expensive to buy.
For me, having the train look and sound good is the most important thing. I appreciate highly detailed trains by AP and other developers, but simpler ones have their place and aren't bad by any means. In fact, even if you aliased the sounds and cab from another train from the era I'd be more than content.
