To be honest, given there doesn't seem to be any resolution to the blurry texture issue even on series x in tsw6, dovetail might as well abandon gen 9 as well as they seem to be incapable of fixing whatever issue they introduced in TSW5 which means even routes which worked in tsw4 now end up looking like something from minecraft and make the game unplayable.

Just abandon gen 9, and therefore abandon tsw as a whole. If the game were to become exclusive to pc, many people would be pleased but should also consider it would mean much fewer dlc, more bugs, less updates and higher prices. Tsw needs console players and there’s no two ways about it. But what tsw also needs is serious time and investment in the core of the game, to make it function properly

I fully agree with you. The problem is, I used to play and really enjoy TSW on series x but whatever dovetail did in tsw5 has completely ruined the game. New routes have blurry textures. Old routes which used to work fine have blurry textures after a few minutes and for me really ruins the experience. If I wanted to play that type of game I'd load up southern belle on a Sinclair spectrum emulator.

We're now almost one year into tsw5 and despite talks about optimisation and improvements which haven't fixed anything, we seem to be nowhere closer to someone asking "what did we implement with tsw5 which broke the game on series x (and possibly ps5) and how can we fix it?"

Instead we're getting tsw6 with some ambient sound effects and more blurry textures and no improvement in sight.

Looking at the Switch and PS stores right now, the most popular games common to both are priced identically, which is what I saw before also. I'm sure examples can be found of every case, but l have to question "usually".

    New releases I'm sure.

Cyberpunk 2077 was £69.99 at launch on xbox and ps. £59.99 including DLC on switch 2.

Hogwarts Legacy was £69.99 at launch on ps5 and xbox. Switch - £49.99.

    EA FC 25. £69.99 on gen 8 and 9. £54.99 on switch.

Star Wars Outlaws. £69.99 on ps5 and xbox. £49.99 on switch 2.

I could go on. You found an outlier. Other than Nintendo 1st party games, multiplatform games have always been cheaper on switch. Even EA don't charge full price.

I get why DTG don't have the gen 8 versions cheaper, it's the free upgrade. But don't use false equivalencies.

I know what you're saying, but Spotify only uses a subscription to get rid of ad's between songs, its still free to use without paying (Just with ads).

Not an outlier; I said "games". I'm also now wondering if there's different pricing set by country over and above currency exchange rates. Your four examples show here as follows: Hogwarts at $59.99 right now on all three gen 8s plus Switch 2, and $69.99 on the other two Gen 9s. The Cyberpunk UE is $69.99 on Switch 2, $70.99 on PS5, and $79.99 on XB (though on sale now). EA FC is $69.99 on Switch 2 and both PSes and XBs, and $59.99 on Switch 1. SW Outlaws Gold is $59.99 on Switch 2 and currently has a price cut from $109.99 to $49.49 on the other two. Some lower on Switch, some the same. Like I said, examples can be found of everything.

Oh no, the dreaded internet word: audiophile! It's not a great analogy really. What has not wanting to subscribe to Spotify (there are better subscription options for 'audiophiles' btw) got to do with buying TSW, which is licensed, even if you buy a hard copy? How is upgrading a PC (or console) to be able to play the latest software got anything to do with upgrading a hifi system to, often subjectively, improve audio quality?

You get what you pay for. If people can’t put away £50 a month a save towards a 9th gen console, more fool them. The 8th gen situation is only going to escalate. All the dlc routes announced and future announcements, only a handful will make there way to 8th gen consoles.

Spotify has nothing to do with TSW, the post is about the advantages of having old-fashioned entertainment equipment over a Console. The point I was making by mentioning both my PC and audio equipment is that I don't like the restrictions that come with certain ways of "owning" media.

Being able to play Vinyl and CDs on a proper Denon system is a far better listen than listening to music on Spotify. My stereo doesn't play adverts for a start. Nor does it recommend AI bands. Not only do I actually own all of my music but buying it from independent record shops and the artists' webpages means they get more than the pathetic cut Spotify gives them. Where the PC comes in is it allows me to archive (back-up if you will) all of my media at the best quality possible on to hard drives that I own on my PC and Laptop. No cloud storage costs, no subscriptions.

Yes, I went off at a tangent a little, but I genuinely worry that people are living in a world where they own nothing but owe significant amounts on a monthly basis for that "convenience". But we all have a choice, it's like deciding whether to simply ignore a post that you don't feel is relevant or trying to score points with a supercilious and surly response.

And my post got some "likes" so some people found it interesting and/or thought provoking.

Totally agree mate, nothing beats looking through my vinyl and cd collection for things to listen to, not to mention half of the stuff i listen to you cant even find on any streaming service LOL (Happy Hardcore) the biggest différance for me is, when looking through a playlist on the likes of spotify or similar service is its just feels cold, yet when i pick up a 12" or cd its physical and triggers memories, like i remember the club i was in when i 1st heard it, dont get me wrong streaming services have a place (mainly the car LOL) but u just cant beat the total package that physical media gives you, like i still have the cd of delta force 2 on my shelf back from when i 1st got into PC gaming, not to mention Dune 2 for the amiga, the floppies out lived my old amiga RIP :-(
