A voice and the sound of a train can be heard not far from Seefeld in the direction of Scharnitz! Does anyone know what it could be? Best regards!
The only nearby railway line is the unterinntalbahn from Kufstein to Wörgl. Could be very possible that they have created a background sound for it. I dont think its a leak or something
Just to respond to the OP, I rode out to Seefeld and definitely heard the "hissing" noise, possibly a brake release, and also unintelligible speaking. There is also a machine hum in the background. If this is just supposed to be ambience, it is certainly a strange choice. Hard to believe it is an Easter Egg though. It is about 1.1 km North of Seefeld. There is a bridge over a very narrow roadway. That is where I heard it best.
I have not noticed this yet Where along the route is it? Gotta check it out later when I'm back home. The strange sounds near Seefeld I heard before, but very weak because I mostly keep the camera inside the cab when driving. So I thought nothing of it. Gonna check that out later too.
This can be seen just west of Klais. There is a small level crossing and then a field with "live-action" cows. The letters are in that field. It is on the left, south side of the tracks, when heading direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
To me this sounds like ambient noise coming from a carpenter´s workshop. The hissing noise could come from a circular saw or grinding or sanding machines. The voices must come from the workers inside. But I also couldn't understand them. Just talking bubbles.
I finally had time to check both places myself. The building with the noises does sound to me as if there's some machining going on in there. A constant humming noise, muffled unintelligible shouts and occasionally some air pressure venting. Could be anything, but I don't think it's necessarily train- or even steam-train-related. Today this building seems to be a cross-country skiing club, what it was back in 1989 I don't know. The inscription near Klais is more intriguing, in my opinion: Gotta agree with simontreanor81 that this reads like "SGE", but I can't come up with any good ideas what it might mean. Love a good mystery
This is unlikely to be a hint for anything TSW related. "SGE" is the acronym for the "Eintracht Frankfurt" football team. I guess Lukas is a fan!
Could well be. He's from the Frankfurt area, isn't he? Now that you mention it... yes, also a possibility The middle letter looks more like a 6 or upside-down 9 than a G. Edit: The Emsland Railway carries the line number 395... in the mid-70's it was one of the last German routes with regular steam traffic...
Now, because I had read it as S6E, I had originally thought it might have something to do with S6 and Essen. To me this also fit because of another hint about a HRR remake. I like the 395 interpretation though. But, we need more information!
If it really hints at this, I think I'd be a great route, but to make it really work they would need to release 2 steam engines probably (one for passenger and one for freight), I mean I won't complain if they do, but I think some sort of Loco dlc is more realistic at first for a return of steam.
Interesting idea, but this doesn't "feel" like TSG for me. Although doing some S-Bahn S6 line would tie in well with the upcoming 420 That's what I thought as well. While the blue/beige 218 would fit on this route and in this era (just barely), we'd need at least two steamers... let's say a 01.10 for passenger and a 43 for freight services, since both are not very interchangeable. And considering the state of steam in TSW, I doubt even TSG would put so much effort into one route as to create two steam engines. While the idea is nice and the route would make a great addition, it would also go contrary to the other eastereggs found along Mittenwaldbahn, hinting at a route located rather in the southwest of Germany, in Baden-Württemberg.
Not the worst idea. I forgot that the route is a couple of months old already, so the easteregg might well refer to something we already got in the meantime
I think they said that some of the ideas from the Community aren't completely wrong, but they said that the hints at steam have a good reason.
