Maybe they can make an add-on manager solution for Epic too, I hope that can be done.

There is it again, the silence of DTG. They really manage to hit the jackpot again. "BR blue & steam doesnt sell well":

    - For the annual release of TSW6s "sucessor", DTG gives epic players the best advertisement booster by cutting off their purchaised content. Yea thats gonna attract players.

    - preview streams seem often unprepared, DTG isnt even hiding the unfinished state anymore.

DTG should stop biting off peaces of a size they cant chew.., stop the annual release, you clrarly are on a good path to ruin the entire franchais..

The only ways for them to listen is to not buy stuff, I suppose, in retaliation to this, until they fix this. And keeping this thread alive until they offer a dedicated solution to this.

Although, we still don't know whose fault it is yet officially, so I'm not completely sure other than to wait to see what their response is. However, they should definitely reconsider this business model if it's not working for one of their PC platforms, obviously as seen here.

Obviously as its been well established its just speculation, but I really don't think this is the issue, I'm sure if it was, then addon manager could be added to pc. I feel like it is more of a DLC page issue or some other technical problem not involving the amount of DLCs that can be added to the game, if it was a 64 DLC limit like PS is, DTG wouldn't offer 60 DLCs going into TSW6, and a side effect of the add on manager (as I understand its purpose was mainly for playstation store downloaded DLC limits) was that those with storage issues can easily choose what they want to play, PC its a bit easier for storage to be added than on console. If it was a downloaded DLC thing, a PC version of the addon manager would obviously be the way to go, and benefit everyone, especially those who only play one region. I for one would instantly be able to play all my US DLCs with hardly any fear of reaching that limit anytime soon.

It was added to all platforms, as it made for more efficient memory management and better load times, but the problem on PS5 was with a limit on how many gigabytes of DLCs the console itself was capable of handling loading for a game at one time, this is a different problem entirely, wholly outside the scope of what the addon manager was for.

Ironically, given what we DO know about the nature of whatever this is, the observable effect - one theoretical way to fix it might be the exact thing Epic have been fighting other platform holders over, which would be having DLC work via a fully walled garden Dovetail store within the game where platform holders don't get a cut of the sales and everything is hosted for download on DTG's own servers.

Yeah, if it's not a DLC limit issue, it must have to do with something undisclosed for whatever reason. Definitely getting the sense that the silence on this is incredibly arbitrary though, either they have to stay silent because of some agreement, or whatever it is, we don't know. We just need a response with the reason why all of this is going on.

All of this really makes me appreciate the days where Sam would come on and would hold his hands up and apologize when something wasn't good enough and even for a while following Sam's departure it felt like there was much more two way dialogue and transparency between the players and DTG.

I understand this most likely isn't the fault of the current community team (who do a great job with what they have) but likely people above. I think many of us just wish DTG could be a little more transparent with us on things and just apologise when things haven't been to standard. Now we're lucky if we get a heavily PR based response at all.

And of course, the acquisition by Focus have turned the tides as well. See what happened after that acquisition? I thought so too. :)

I might surmise that while they are trying to work something out behind the scenes, they calculated that any statement they give to players based on the current state of things would cause a bigger uproar than silence, and they hoped to exhaust options for workarounds before giving a detailed statement.

I'm hoping that they're actively working on a solution, then okay, maybe the silence is necessary in order to keep things in order and agreement. However, if we find out that they will stay silent now and, in the future, that's when I think something is wrong. I'm just hoping that they're actually doing something about this as we speak.

The silence is for sure a huge red flag. I recommend every single epic player to stay away until its resolved and keep the wallet closed.

If such an obvious "mistake" isnt getting priority, then DTG and epic is very likley underestimating the consequences of angry customers if their money gets wasted.

Alright, all negative opinions on my end about this situation are now gone (except for the yearly releases, I still think that's unnecessary) becuase of this! We did it everyone, we got our stuff back, even if it's not all at once, knowing that it's for sure that we're getting all our content is great to hear.

It was nice raising awareness here with everyone in this thread, but we finally got what we wanted. I hope you all will enjoy your add-ons in this iteration of TSW, and let's seriously hope that this doesn't happen again in future iterations, but the question is: Does this not raise a concern with releasing yearly iterations if something like this could happen and scare players? Everyone on the team should still consider if this is the best way moving forward, they need to learn from this and be more transparent next time.

That being said, it's great that we have a solution now. Therefore, I have no further comments on this thread unless something changes. Thanks everyone, I knew we could do it and win this. ;)

Likewise, not affected as I'm on Steam, but very glad to see that Epic users will get to bring their whole collection over.

It does, though, serve to highlight why this annual 're-release the same game under a new name and re-download all your collection' debacle has to stop. The marketing push cannot continue to be worth the amount of time, effort and hassle (for DTG as well as players) it takes, compared to a core update and a pack of routes.

While this is a welcome resolution, there's no guarantee Epic players will be able to port their entire collection in the next iterations of TSW.

    Rejoice, but temporarily.

This never affected me but I’m happy that what ever the reasons behind it, a solution has been found and epic players will get to keep their entire collection.

Glad it's sorted for Epic players but it should never have been allowed to get to the stage where it became an issue aired in the public domain. Should have been resolved internally between DTG and Epic.

However as stated above, this should still be a warning shot across DTG's bows that, 1. They need to ditch the annual "new game" paradigm and 2. They need to seriously look at the amount of content for the game which is running out of control, whether by splitting into pure regional editions or some other solution.

I mean, we do keep asking for more transparency. I imagine they told us because they weren't sure if it could be resolved. If it turned out that they couldn't give Epic players all of their content, would you rather they told us any later than they did (even though you had to dig through a long FAQ to find it)?

On another note, wasn't there a TSW5 DLC that wasn't released for Epic Games. The DLC that started the whole theory about the number 128? Will Epic Games be getting that DLC now?

Thanks for everyone's continuous contribution to this thread! Although I'm escaping to Steam due to this issue I wish all players staying on Epic can get their collection as fast as possible.
So now the question is, what was the issue?

I actually think DTG had good intentions here. They realised there was likely to be a problem and set expectations low before anyone committed any money. Then continued to work on it. If they hadn't said anything and didn't find a solution and people had already pre ordered, it would have been a lot worse to announce at this stage.

As it is, it's still not ideal with epic users having to wait. And who knows what will happen next year because I strongly suspect that there will be a new iteration again.

A bad situation made slightly better by today's announcements. I'm glad epic users will get their DLC eventually.

I never thought otherwise, but a little communication where the problem lies would have prevented a lot.
DTG-Chris does this mean the 101 expert gameplay pack comes to epic too ?

Excellent news to be sure. A delay is not perfect but I'm content to be patient. Kudos to the people who played a part in working this out.

Just a thought for DTG - The "How do I download my compatible content?" section of the FAQ still references "only a limited number of add-ons" being compatible for Epic.

This would be my only niggle, hopefully its not a case of the can getting kicked down the road.

I'm glad they've sorted it out for the Epic players! Even if there is delayed access for content for a platform. Again. Although quite rightly as Vern said it should've never gotten to this stage in the public eye.

Surely now DTG can see this new game every year just causes more trouble than it's worth now?

They should but, given also the now admitted stance on the save game slot issue, I am beginning to think as a company they are arrogant beyond belief. Just think they are right and the paying customers should sit back and take it.

I'd like to see some sort of guarantee that this won't just happen again next year, and possibly without the favorable outcome we were lucky to get this time.

Oh, one more thing I have to say, let's keep this thread open just in case anything ever changes, you never know even after the great news today. We should always keep raising awareness about serious incidents like this, it can always be helpful in the future. :)

    Hello everyone,
Great news for Epic Games players: they'll be able to get their DLCs purchased with TSW, even if it's done in two installments!!! Better late than never. The problem, as many of us are reporting, is now what will happen next year and in other years with this platform-specific licensing system. As a PC player of TSC/TSW2/3/4/5 and soon the 6th installment, and on Steam for over 10 years, who can guarantee me and anyone else in the same situation that we won't be affected by this problem either? Console players... it would be good to sort this out once and for all!!!
[At least, that's my personal opinion, and therefore, it's only my opinion!!!]
    Sincerely, tof

If you still can't get the 101 Expert Gameplay Pack on Epic, you can still use it.

All you need to do is get the 101 Expert Gameplay Pack from Steam and copy it into your Epic TSW.

Other users have already mentioned that this also works on Epic.

At least 3 installments, 2 for the original 60, I would say probably another 4 or 5 to get the full collection
