Who said this is an argument? I’m just stating what I’ve heard and seen from videos on the Discord

simply stated that the sounds in the discord are those that are currently in the game which is a fact as I drive the 801 quite a lot, and it is the same.

nothing wrong with that. Could just be a place holder, who knows?

 

Weird how a thread about the German preview turned into a discussion about the 801/802 sounds

 

You’re not seriously claiming you can judge whether a sound is actually appropriate based on this, are you?! I can barely hear anything mostly just ambient noise. But hey, if you think it works, fine...

 

You can very clearly hear the azuma departing… it’s not that hard to hear.

yes there’s ambience but you can very clearly the engine rev up, brake/flange squeal and the traction motors as it departs, that’s a fact.

and yes, I can judge because the sounds are clearly in the video, I don’t get why you are bothered/touched by what I’ve said? Am I missing something lol?

all I’ve said is that the sounds are the same as the 801 currently which is true, what’s the issue?

However, this thread is not about the 801 or 802, but about the German route between Dresden and Leipzig!

Well, yesterday there was a German stream, and there were even more bugs than in the one with DTG. Of course, DTG had tested everything beforehand to make sure as few bugs as possible would be visible but that didn’t work out. It was only during the Train Sim Play stream that you saw how bad it really was. I must’ve heard Lukas say “yeah, that’ll be fixed with a patch” at least ten times. They did a run with the ICE 294 and the Talent, and both were basically unplayable. And we’re not talking about minor issues these were serious problems that made driving nearly impossible.

 

Yes, but in the new preview stream (in german) it was still not fixed. Lukas said they were running the release that is coming the 25th.

Things that were not working (the ones I remember atm):

- The BR 101 bug that makes it unable to open the doors at the station and creates the lock up at Dresden.
- Temporary Speed Restriction signals incorrectly placed looking in the wrong direction.
- One of the TSR frequency options was removed (I think it was Very High).
- Some BR 294 long distance services are incorrectly set up as shunting services, causing some signals to display incorrect aspects.
- Talent 2 has problems braking when there is snow on the track. They only tried the Talent 2 in winter, so I'm not sure if it is a Talent 2 problem or it is the same with every train.

 

Not being a German speaker, I couldn't really follow what was being discussed . However, I did notice that the speed limit dropped to 160 at the end of the LZB section instead of staying at 200 for an extra kilometre or so, so it looks like one bug has actually been fixed.

 

Indeed! I noticed this too and was more then happy and surprised to see that this has actually been fixed! Kudos to DTG on this one

The snow at Dresden Hbf is also not properly removed. You can see snow underneath the canopy and on the lower platforms, but it should only be outside the station.

I'm really afraid this is going to be the second WCML. We saw what went wrong there last year, and this time they've cleverly kept the English community quiet and moved straight on to the German route… It's like a game of musical chairs.

Disappointing. Lukas did joke that if it was the Expert 101 it would be working. Hopefully it is fixed quickly in a patch. But it isn't good when this shouldn't really happen. The door opening bug has been a problem before though hasn't it? On other types of train. I seem to remember Blackpool Branches had a similar issue with the Pacer at one point.

 

Yep. The old BR 182 (DLC for Rapid Transit, coincidentally also goes to Leipzig) used to have the same problem when paired with dostos from other DLCs. That was fixed a long time ago AFAIK.

 

Within TSW5 there was also a problem on the Vorarlberg map, MRCE Taurus + IC coach ... the doors also did not open and the train always remained blocks in the starting station ..... and there was general confusion around the doors when BR218 etc. left ... and when it seemed that it had been sorted out, suddenly it does not work in Dresden? I don't understand

But we will only enjoy this problem from September 30th.....until then DLC BR101 will not be available for TSW6 if I'm not mistaken

 

The problem there IIRC was that the MRCE 182 was conceived (by DTG) as a freight engine and they didn't bother with passenger functionality

 

But the end result was the same for the user...a blocked, standing train ..... I'm almost starting to dread what awaits us in the coming weeks.

 

Same here. I really hope the release version will have ironed out most of the kinks we already got to see, but considering how close the release date already is, my hope isn't too high right now. And the state the "exciting new features" are in obviously, doesn't give much confidence.
I'll stay away from TSW6 for a while longer, and only get the Starter Pack and the 294 eventually. Regarding Dresden-Leipzig, which is the only new route I'm mildly interested in, I'll wait until some reviews and opinions are come out.

A real shame to have to be this careful about a new DTG release nowadays

 

Steam users can download all the stuff from the EA phase. All other platforms can download their earlier collection with the official release

 

Also not so. Rockstar are owned by Take Two, but they also act as publisher for their own games, and there is a key difference. So as they are both developer and publisher under the Take Two umbrella, they have more independence than a development company that doesn't also act as a publisher.

 

Why is there a dresden/risa route aswell as the dresden/leipzig in the tsw6 bundles

 

They’ve given everyone the earlier version so it gives anyone who didn't already have it all the loco/layer entitlements that come with it.

 

So we need the older one so everything can layer into it. Then that will all layer into the newer one.

 

And during this live stream by TrainSimPlay and Lukas, Lukas said something very important about the releases.
Lukas has repeatedly said that this bug and the other bug will be fixed with patches after the release.

And Lukas also said the following about this. For some platforms, DTG has to upload a version to the platform three weeks before the release date.
For many of us, this means that we will receive an old version that was uploaded three weeks ago when it is released.
In my opinion, this is not a very pleasant prospect.

Thats correct thats why he talking about the famous "day one patch"! I have no clue what day one exactly means.... Is that september 30 or 25...? When it is september 30 is EA for this route complete useless and you can better play the other routes.

 

They should have done it better. Really don’t see why we should have 5 or 6Gb of old, never to be played again route sitting on the HD and clogging the menu screen. DTG need to have a better process if more route extensions (as welcome as they are) are planned.

 

So if what im saying is right thats absolutely crazy. To think a new cant function probably without an old route.

 

Dresden Leipzig should not have wanted to need the Dresden - Riesa and Rapid Transit layers at all, it should have had everything occupied in it .......

 

But I don't think it would take three weeks to release a patch... if I remember the release of TSW5, it was right after the release, and now I don't know if it was during early access or after the official release date, they were releasing one patch after another, maybe every day. And I don't think they posted it three weeks in advance. Anyway, I think these longer release times mainly apply to console platforms.

 

Absolutely. The whole system of releasing new rolling stock bundled together with new routes (mostly, except for some rare standalones), proves to be more and more of a liability with each new release. A good example is the list of "same but different" Dosto versions we already got ingame as of yet. Compatibility issues are already there, and will only grow bigger if this goes on.

 

Especially after hundreds of hours of testing, yes, you don't enjoy it on a console, you're almost only testing, when it starts to blur again, etc., so where Dostos is running, there are almost certainly problems with texture blurring

 

Considering how common Dostos are/have been all across Germany and thus on German TSW routes, this is especially jarring

DTG really, really should overthink their method of releasing new rolling stock. And much more love and care must to go into maintaining and updating existing rolling stock, urgently. The bigger TSW grows, the more this problem will grow along it.

 

Recently in one of the discussion threads someone said and he is probably right that a thick line should be drawn and a new start should be made...... according to my vehicle they should be a separate element and the maps or timetable should then be taken for operation and that would also guarantee uniformity or the possibility of updating them and that would prevent the e-mails from disappearing from the timetables or from the menu
