will there be more freedom in tsw6. Or will there be limited access. Will we be able to use our old collection on any route. Will we be able to use any train on any route while using time table with out any problems. I’m not talking about using that scenario planner where you have to produce your own ai train. I’m talking about going straight in in time table in free roam using any train. Well anyway I have a feeling tsw5 limited restriction will carry on into tsw6. But anyway I guess we will have to wait and see. Feel good to have access to unlimited freedom in tsw6 free roam.
I think you will most likely to be able to use old content on new routes. As in layers yes. Also free roam..spawning trains etc
My understanding is you can use anything as long as it’s compatible for example I can run 801 to faversham because it has pantograph for ac then from ebbsfleet just use diesel engine mode however if you wanted to use non compatible stuff you’d have to use off the rails mode
So we will have passenger mode aswell? Its nice to just sit and ride sometimes, besides i`ll be able to travel the Riviera route like i did when i was younger.
Yes prices have increased but thinking outside the box for a min take deluxe version and upcoming Riveria line as a view and I ask myself how many real world trips could I get to Paignton Plymouth and Exeter for price of deluxe edition plus as bonus 5 days early access and other routes n loco thrown in not to mention the highly sort after and anticipated 220 DEMU voyager and for me this was best option due to owning most of what’s in the bigger pack however the decesion. Is based on individual needs as its horses for courses so to speak as different people have different needs which is also why there’s a number of alternatives such as if you only want certain things you can just wait till 30th and for example free starter pack which gives you tsw6 base game including new features like announcements then just purchase stand alone copy of Riveria line and 220 voyager if that’s your thing or alternatively people might not be bothered about any of base routes but just want to bring a collection to tsw6 and just get things like the upcoming awesome just trains tfw pacer with its bi fold bus style doors or all about studio routes so yes whilst prices have increased control is still in your hands I hope this helps
Go ask William Wallace about it Sorry, I just had to That's what I'm thinking too. Since TSW6 is more like a glorified update than a completely new game, I don't think the game mechanics will change much.
Oh I totally agree, I’m glad they have different tiers to meet people’s needs. Another example, some people only like a specific country, so buying content separately is the best option for them. I had to look that up for giggles (train tickets) Plymouth to Exeter. On national rail it works out at £5.50p standard and £10.00 first class, so 10-15 runs on this route in-game you’ve got your money’s worth in equivalent to real world travelling. £5.50 is really cheap compared to what I paid from a minor journey on the Elizabeth line during the week. Paddington to Liverpool Street cost me £5.15. I did accidentally use my bank card and not my Oyster card though still, when I checked my bank account I was shocked! I know the first route I’ll be playing is the Riviera, but I can’t decide what I’m going to drive first. Voyager or the 802. Probably the Voyager though
How many times does OP need to post about wanting to put down trains and drive them even though you can already do that?
The fares are outrageous. Fortunately being veteran retired rail staff retained free travel for wife and myself. Had a look to see what our trip up to London from Swindon last Tuesday would have cost and shocked to see for the trains we used... £82.50 each return. We ended up walking everywhere in London as wasn't sure if our Oyster cards still worked (not used since before Covid). Was unable to log into our TfL accounts beforehand though subsequently fixed that by changing the password and enabling two step verification. Got £10 each on there. Current Oyster Zone 1 single is £2.90 so much cheaper than getting a paper ticket from the machine. Apparently there is also a cap of £8.50 so if you go over that then there are no extra charges (effectively a half rate Capital Card). Sorry for OT ramble!
Its the same as TSW5. No different. The only thing different is the random events, platform announcements and passenger announcements. What you could do in TSW 5 you can do in TSW 6. Its also not a limited restriction. You simply cannot run a 3rd rail unit in non 3rd rail territory which is true to life. You can't run an 86, 87 or vectron BR193 on non OHLE track on their own either thats real to life. It was bad enough when they introduced off the rails mode for scenario designer. If you want that use that. Hentis
You are correct on that. Yes I can clearly understand your point. Your right. But if I am using a third rail train for on a third rail track it should be able to operate with out a problem.
Wow. A few months ago, I took Amtrak from Chicago to Washington DC for about the same price ( c700 miles ). Actually flying would have been even cheaper, but much less convenient.
Am I moaning or am I asking a question? Either way I fail to see how either means I'm worried. I may worry about a lot of things in general, but someone's forum post about wanting to do something they can already do isn't one of them.
I think they should add off the rails mode to Timetable / Free mode too though. Would be nice to just really use any train anywhere. Especially just for fun.
Yes I know that but still why not use it. Still 3rd. It Wouldn’t hurt to go against the grain once in a while. opps my bad Carry on sorry about that.
Yes i kindly agree. Wouldn’t have to worry about placing your own train on the track. But the option would still be there.
It is and as commented previously, not even that comfortable - the IET seats on GWR are the apocryphal ironing board with a bit of fabric stretched over. You can get cheaper fares but only by booking ahead and being tied to specific trains. Which is why we are eternally grateful for the instances of free travel we do get as retired staff.
