Will the Class 220 be usable on other routes in services besides the Riviera Line, I would like to own it but I'm refusing to pay such a price tag for deluxe, so I'm intending to see if that's the case so I can get it when it comes out separately on the 30th.
Only AI on the Birmingham Cross City Line Cross Country Timetable addon. And you can use it on free roam
It will be updated later in the fute to play on bigrham cross city if you own the 170 pack and its part the gwr remaster
is that true? This is not a route for the class 220 sofar i know. I have never seen this train in Paddington station
I believe it's being added to the MAC route but of course it'll only be a very short drive between Manchester and Stockport
This is false and contradicts what they have shared. The Voyager will be playable on the cross-city line (with a fake stop in Bromsgrove) as well as on Manchester Airport Commuter after a post launch update. It will also be playable on Birmingham to Crewe upon the release of that route. While it would prototypically also appear on the Midland Mainline, no plans have been announced to add it to that route. Similarly, the Fife Circle Timetable update was completed (but not released) before the Voyager was announced, so is unlikely to feature it.
Yes, I thought so too but wasn’t 100% sure, and I didn’t want to give him a misleading impression. Better to leave something out than to say too much that isn’t accurate. The stop at Bromsgrove is obviously completely unrealistic, and while I understand the choice from a gameplay perspective, I would’ve preferred it to be handled by AI. Bromsgrove has basically become a second Birmingham New Street 2.0 in-game… I don’t think that fits, but of course everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.
On Manchester there should be a couple of services that run via Wilmslow instead of turning off at Stockport, although in the current timetable they don't stop at Wilmslow. Hopefully they'll be added as playable anyway.
It wasn't that long ago that Bromsgrove barely had a train service. Now it's worthy of cross country services! I do think the timetable is much better and I doubt I'll touch the original again. An extension to Hereford or at least Worcester would have been much more preferable of course, but obviously not likely to be feasible.
I believe it was mentioned that it'll also be added to West Somerset as AI out on the mainline section
As a Bromsgrove resident I like the fantasy of the station becoming a new Worcestershire rail hub If CrossCountry ever switched to bimodes so they could get up the incline quicker it might even be possible to path something like this for at least some of the Birmingham bound services. At the moment on Tyler's timetable you end up late to Birmingham for a lot of the northbound XC 170 services as they are so much slower up the incline compared to the 323s that the 323 from Redditch overtakes you before you pass Barnt Green causing you to have to run at caution most of the way from Longbridge to University. Now this can happen in real life if the XC service is running very late before it passes Bromsgrove, but obviously it's not planned that way hence it passes Bromsgrove at around 90mph in order not to lose much speed on the incline. So great for gameplay but not realistic to do irl with the current rolling stock.
Personally I would have preferred them to have had the Cross Country services as AI only. There really isn't any difference driving a WMR class 170 from Bromsgrove to New Street as to the Cross Country one.
While the 220 stop at Bromsgrove is currently unrealistic, I have a memory (I think!) of CC stops there some time back.
I remember when it was just a single platform on the Up Line for a while. Though one of the trains to call (in the mid 70’s) was the famous Paddington to Paddington circular which ran down to Birmingham New Street via Oxford and Coventry, continuing on via Worcester SH and the Cotswold Line back to Oxford. It was only advertised as going to Charlbury at New Street and IIRC only the front two or three coaches fitted on the platform at Bromsgrove, crossing from and back to the Down Line. The time I did it, was a pair of steam heat Class 31’s. Lovely.
Yes, prior to the extension of the cross-city line to Bromsgrove in 2018. The paths for that were taken by the new cross-city line services.
I'm pretty sure they actually do not have guard door controls, the guard just buzzes certain things to the driver and the driver shuts the doors ect..(??)
I expect it will layer into most future UIK routes going forward, since they go just about everywhere.
Would have loved to have been able to travel on that. Certainly around 1990 all it had was an occassional bubble car to Worcester from that single platform.
The class 220 on Playstation is very buggy and visually you need to be carefully not to do a. emergency stop when slowing down on the playstation 5. The Hud show the 4 power positions but when you brake it just show brake position 1 on the hud
