I am trying to set up the 294 initially would not move despite being in forward and the brake released. I tried checking for everything enabled but the engine shut down after a short amount of time and it will not restart, I reset physics but it is the same. I held in start with in for 30 seconds and it does nothing. How am I supposed to get this to start?

Hi, sorry to hear about these issues, if you haven't done so it would be helpful if you could jump over to Submit a request – SUPPORT CENTER and send the related information and the steps you've tried, thank you.
this is the most under-reported set of gaffes in TSW6. The tutorial is a joke: 290S became 294S No. The text should have read 290's and 294's but what does Ai know ? Nobody in Beta actually tried to complete that tutorial SLOWLY which leads to a FAIL on engine restart. And about those two glowing buttons for stopping behaviour on the man panel ? No mention. You won't need them as they will not help get that loc to ever move again. A bit like new old SD-40-2 if you let the Alerter put on the brakes on Cajon Pass. Oops. That was not covered in which tutorial ? But do use the Alerter to get the points ... if you are able to complete the run.
I encountered the same, and i did manage to get it running again! the only problem is i don't really know what was the cause. there might be a delay after it shuts down? any help is welcome on why. steps i did when engine stopped -all safety systems off -reset air compressor brake lock -reverser neutral -brakes thing off -i re-enabled the controls and suddenly it did start up again (coincidence?) if your engine is still running it's easier, use the brake release. if it comes on again, keep it pressed for 10 sec
Compressor turned on and brakes not cut out, on the control desk? I haven't experienced any problems with the br294. The engine shuts off automatic, when idling after a short while, to save fuel. I thought it was possible to turn this function off.
