Haven't found anything here in the forums about this, so I'd like to ask: Is there (or will there be) a list of which bugs and issues that existed in TSW5 which TSW6 will fix upon release or soon after? This might help me decide on when/if to switch to TSW6. I can already see some peolpe with answers like "no fixes, thus no list" rolling in...
Well, the previously promised "quality of life changes" disappeared from newer materials, performance improvements turned to be a switch that turns all layers off by default, and that's about it from the official communication. You can count on William bringing another round of updates to the expert 101, some other third party developers also announced updates to their previously released addons which will probably address some bugs as well, but that's probably about it. Out of dovetail's addons, you can assume everything was thrown under the bus already, unless they will absolutely have to touch it for some reason. Kinzigtalbahn still has plenty of serious bugs unresolved, and that's the core route that gets more attention from them than anything else. From the streams shown, we already see many new bugs being introduced with the old ones still in place.
- Passenger behavior - Dynamic Weather So thats for sure 2 things that i know Oh and performance should be tweaked in some places
Yep, that's my impression too and the main reason why I started this thread. I always try to be as positive as possible about things, but DTG continues to make this increasingly harder I've read about these too, but haven't seen any noticeable improvements during the streams yet. Doesn't seem like much has changed, because if there would be a huge leap forward, DTG probably would have made more of a show about it.
Traditionally, DTG have drawn a line under each iteration of TSW as a new one launches. I believe this was explicitly stated starting with TSW3 when TSW2 was unceremoniously shut down.
Well, according to one beta tester, optimization has improved; routes like Frankfurt run much better in 6 than in 5
Anything about fast camera for consoles? This feature has been gone for 3 games now and it’s really starting to irritate me..
Yes that " 5 " does have a lot of sharp edges. Will be glad to see the dust settle behind it. Unfortunately, some of the irritating bugs and omissions have been left behind. Will Curly 6 suffer the trauma from its predecessor? ( Oops! Sorry, mixing up my media. )
list of tsw5 bugs fixed in tsw6 - - - - - end of the list -------------------------------------------------------------- list of tsw6 bugs - all tsw5 bugs + new ones end of the list
Just finishing up with TSW5 and a run on the TSW4 era ECML. That route still has the erroneous double yellow signal checks (which you can't ignore) due to the level crossing timers being set up incorrectly. Despite promises, never fixed.
Despite the comments taking exactly the direction I expected them to (with a few exceptions), I'm still rather serious about it: DTG, which existing bugs have been fixed in TSW6? If I get the free Starter Pack, it really is more like a big update then a completely new game. So I'd really like to see some update notes before delving into it
I made a joke about your question before, but to be serious now, one of the things mentioned on one of the streams was memory optimization at least for Xbox Series S.
It’s always been the same game, just with some new features added and the ui changed to give it that new “look”. Every version of the game since tsw2 for me has felt the exact same just a few new small things added which they could have easily just added in the previous game but I guess not.
Given all the work involved with installing TSW6, I fully expect all my existing bugs to be updated to the new standard. Some of them are very old friends and I'd hate to lose them now.
OK, I can confirm that there has been substantial optimization work. 6 takes half as long to load as 5 did, and it runs much more smoothly on my old machine.
I noticed with TSW5 on PS5 at least is that the loading times increase with increasing amounts of DLC installed. I bet TSW6 loading times will match TSW5 once all the old DLC can be carried over next week.
With each new route. Add +10 seconds to the loading time. I think my wait time is around 2 minutes give or take on the PS5. I own almost everything apart from 2-3 routes.
2 mins to load is insane. I own a lot of the US DLC it takes like 10 seconds to load on Xbox series x.
I'm on Steam; already have all my DLC. And moved all my many mods over as well. Apples to apples comparison.
I know right! So you can imagine when you get random crashes having to repeat that 2 min load up each time.
With all my dlc installed, I haven't noticed any better optimization compared to TSW5, but then it's always run pretty smoothly on my machine anyway. Loading time is about the same although the first time I played I had to " remind " the little loco to get started.
TSW6 bugs will be fixed by September 2026 just wait for it.Hmmm why does this date seem to be familiar to me.I see the number 7 in are future.
One thing: HUD markers (those about destinations, signals and speed limits) no longer jumps when they are forced to screen edges. A bug introduced in TSW5, though.
One they didn’t fix… The after run report showing the wrong route in the summary. For Riviera Line it is showing as Midland Main Line. Hopefully the points do go to the correct place but it’s irksome not to see your route progress particularly after a long run.
One thing that does work again is the filters and sorting when browsing Creators Club liveries. That makes a big difference, and I am glad for it.
