Hi A quick question about moving your TSW5 content over. Does all your old DLC have to be redownloaded or can you move it over manually. Then when TSW6 attempts to reinstall it will see the DLC already there? It will take hours if it has to redownloaded.
It has to be re-downloaded. However if you have slow internet could take a while. Best way is to curate the DLC by unticking within Steam then adding back in gradually. Also if you run TSW6 before doing this, you won’t get locked out of the game while it updates.
Not near my PC at the moment to take a look but I’m wondering how easy it is to remove some unused dlcs from TSW5 in order to free up space before installing TSW6. Edit: I've just discovered it's easy to remove dlc in the Steam Library.
Thanks OldVern . TSW6 wanted to download 222GB, just unticked all except for the Riviera Line and the Class 220 for now. Downloaded about 12GB, took 1 hour 20 mins ,will do the rest over time. It appears all the DLC is prefixed with TSW6 so my copying over would have not worked.
You can untick but would need to manually locate and delete the associated pak files from the DLC directory wherever your install has nested itself. Better to set up TSW6 bare bones, transfer your profile and uninstall TSW5 which does then remove the entire install folder.
